Confession: I can binge watch like nobody’s business.
Wearing sweats and watching a good TV series are one of my favorite things!
Today, I thought I could tell you what we’ve binge watched and then you can tell me what you have…and we can both swap ideas. Listen, there is still at least a month left of winter…plenty of time to cozy up and watch a bunch of TV before spring :).
The first series Andrew and I ever binged watched together was 24. We rented the first few episodes one night 10 years ago when we lived in this little apartment from our neighborhood Blockbuster. We grabbed Chinese takeout and the first 4 episodes of 24…well, we became addicts and by the end of the weekend, we had watched several seasons and hadn’t left our apartment. We were hooked!
I typically binge watch in two ways:
First, I’ll watch comedy series that I’ve seen before but this time, I’ll turn them on and watch from the beginning to the end while I do things (like work on the computer or right before I go to bed at night). Lighthearted series that I just love and I don’t really have to pay attention to but can just listen in the background.
The second kind of binge watching is when Andrew and I find a series we have never seen before and start at the beginning and then become obsessed and can’t stop watching. The kind of shows where we’re stuck in front of the TV and can’t take our eyes away…this in my opinion, is the most dangerous kind of binge watching…because it can consume you :).
I’m constantly in the middle of binge watching comedy series (right now, I’m watching Everybody Loves Raymond) because they’re easy to pick up and watch here and there as I do other things (like I’ll turn it on when I make the bed in the morning and get dressed). That’s easy.
Binge watching other series is more time consuming because Andrew and I watch them at night when the kids are asleep. I just finished watching Breaking Bad and listen…it consumed my life. I was so into that show that I would think about it during the day. It was that good and I wanted to see how it ended that much.
I thought if I share with you the shows I like to binge watch, then you’ll share with me (in the comments) and we can trade ideas. Fun, right? I’m always looking for new series to start!
Here are the comedy series I’ve watched from episode 1 through their finale:
King of Queens
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Sex and the City
How I Met Your Mother
Everybody Loves Raymond
Here are the dramatic series we’ve watched from beginning to end:
I just finished watching Parenthood on TV, so that’s not one I binge watched but you should if you didn’t watch it while it was in progress. Parenthood is really, really good!
Confession: I have never really watched Modern Family or Grey’s Anatomy? Does that make me un-American? I feel like it does. Should I be watching those now????
Okay…what are some other binge watching worthy TV show? I would love some ideas!!
Comment below and then let’s all stay inside the rest of winter and just watch TV :).
And for dinner tonight…my Beer Chicken Chili…that sounds like something yummy to eat while watching TV, right? Clickhere for the recipe. Enjoy!
Happy Tuesday! I can’t wait to read your comments below :).
