Fifty Two Shades of Shay: Binge Watching

Confession: I can binge watch like nobody’s business.
Wearing sweats and watching a good TV series are one of my favorite things!

Today, I thought I could tell you what we’ve binge watched and then you can tell me what you have…and we can both swap ideas.  Listen, there is still at least a month left of winter…plenty of time to cozy up and watch a bunch of TV before spring :).

The first series Andrew and I ever binged watched together was 24.  We rented the first few episodes one night 10 years ago when we lived in this little apartment from our neighborhood Blockbuster.  We grabbed Chinese takeout and the first 4 episodes of 24…well, we became addicts and by the end of the weekend, we had watched several seasons and hadn’t left our apartment.  We were hooked!
I typically binge watch in two ways:
First, I’ll watch comedy series that I’ve seen before but this time, I’ll turn them on and watch from the beginning to the end while I do things (like work on the computer or right before I go to bed at night).  Lighthearted series that I just love and I don’t really have to pay attention to but can just listen in the background.
The second kind of binge watching is when Andrew and I find a series we have never seen before and start at the beginning and then become obsessed and can’t stop watching.  The kind of shows where we’re stuck in front of the TV and can’t take our eyes away…this in my opinion, is the most dangerous kind of binge watching…because it can consume you :).
I’m constantly in the middle of binge watching comedy series (right now, I’m watching Everybody Loves Raymond) because they’re easy to pick up and watch here and there as I do other things (like I’ll turn it on when I make the bed in the morning and get dressed).  That’s easy.
Binge watching other series is more time consuming because Andrew and I watch them at night when the kids are asleep.  I just finished watching Breaking Bad and listen…it consumed my life.  I was so into that show that I would think about it during the day.  It was that good and I wanted to see how it ended that much.

I thought if I share with you the shows I like to binge watch, then you’ll share with me (in the comments) and we can trade ideas.  Fun, right?  I’m always looking for new series to start!
Here are the comedy series I’ve watched from episode 1 through their finale:
Frasier
Friends
Seinfeld
King of Queens
Still Standing
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Sex and the City
How I Met Your Mother
Everybody Loves Raymond
Here are the dramatic series we’ve watched from beginning to end:
24
Sopranos
Entourage
Scandal
The Blacklist
Mad Men
Breaking Bad

I just finished watching Parenthood on TV, so that’s not one I binge watched but you should if you didn’t watch it while it was in progress.  Parenthood is really, really good!

Confession: I have never really watched Modern Family or Grey’s Anatomy?  Does that make me un-American?  I feel like it does.  Should I be watching those now????

Okay…what are some other binge watching worthy TV show? I would love some ideas!!

Comment below and then let’s all stay inside the rest of winter and just watch TV :).

And for dinner tonight…my Beer Chicken Chili…that sounds like something yummy to eat while watching TV, right?  Click here for the recipe.  Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday!  I can’t wait to read your comments below :).

Good lists! Friends is always on at my house. A couple drama suggestions: Suits and West Wing. Suits is current but I watched seasons 1-4.5 (where it is now) in about 2 weeks. So good! And West Wing is a classic and has really smart writing. As for comedies, love Modern Family and right now I'm going through Parks and Recreation – so funny! Happy watching!!

  • Ashley Miller February 10, 2015 at 10:43 am

My husband and I do the same! I'm on maternity leave right now so I watch way too much tv. Our show interests are very similar.. our favorite series so far has been Prison Break.. especially the first few seasons!

Oh man Im a binge watching pro too!! I think my all time favorite is Friday Night Lights…on Netflix I also do Friends, One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls, Lost, and Dawsons Creek

You should DEFINITELY watch Modern Family and I do love Greys Anatomy but Im a nurse and get so irritated with all the inaccurate things in the show!

    Gilmore girls
    One tree hil
    Greys anatomy for sure

  • cristina villalba February 10, 2015 at 11:16 am

Well this going to sound crazy but I binge watched Dawson's Creek!! Lol it was a great mind vacation. Also Las Vegas with Josh Duhmel and at the end Tom Selleck…sigh. It's a great series BUT it does not have a series finale which was very hard to accept after watching it for 2 weeks straight.

  • Brittany Medland February 10, 2015 at 11:19 am

Okay, whatever you're doing right now, stop!… And turn on Modern Family. I L.O.V.E that show! It's the perfect show for the first type of binge watching you talked about! Just watch it. That's all.
As for the second type- SUITS. We binged watched suits like it was nobody's business!

  • Alexa February 10, 2015 at 11:20 am

    Gilmore Girls
    Big Bang Theory

As you can see I'm a tv show lover as well πŸ˜‰

  • Jackie February 10, 2015 at 11:25 am

House of Cards. Kevin Spacey and Robon Wright are incredible. Season 3 comes out this month.
Grey's Anatomy is fantastic. I watched while it was on, but quit a few seasons ago. I have thought about starting from the beginning. Such a great show.

  • Alicia February 10, 2015 at 11:25 am

We love Homeland! Modern Family is great too! But you must try Homeland!

  • Lisa DeArmit February 10, 2015 at 11:27 am

We binge watched Downton Abbey to catch up and I love it! Modern family is a definite must. The writing is very clever and witty.

  • willow7810 February 10, 2015 at 11:29 am

    Modern Family is wonderful!

I also like Downton Abbey, About a Boy (tv series, same producer as Parenthood)

I binge watched a documentary series called Mankind, the story of us. It is just like a drama – I loved it!!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 11:31 am

Dexter!!! Also, Homeland and Walking Dead

  • Aileen February 10, 2015 at 11:32 am

I'd definitely recommend Friday Night Lights! And Alias with Jennifer Garner is one of my favorites. For a newer comedy, New Girl is hilarious!

  • Brooke @ A Retherford Realization February 10, 2015 at 11:37 am

You definitely need to give Modern Family a try! I find it hilarious and often laugh out loud by it.

  • Laurie Willmann February 10, 2015 at 11:38 am

  • Elizabeth King February 10, 2015 at 11:39 am

    Homeland!

  • Heather February 10, 2015 at 11:40 am

My husband and I do some binge watching as well. We loved Mad Men and are dying for the final season to start in the spring. There were some nights we stayed up way too late watching it, we just couldn't stop! One comedy that wasn't on your list that we really liked is Rules of Engagement. I think we may start Parenthood here soon. I have just seen so many good things about it lately that I feel like I am really missing out on some good tv.

  • Andrea Terrell February 10, 2015 at 11:42 am

Jumping on the Friday Night Lights bandwagon. Awesome show
    love The Walking Dead

  • Danielle Baiamonte February 10, 2015 at 11:43 am

  • Heidi February 10, 2015 at 11:47 am

The Walking Dead… Not just about zombies! Homeland
    Downton Abbey
Greys Anatomy is the one I have for background noise during the day. Lifetime plays 3 episodes a day.

  • Melissa H. February 10, 2015 at 11:47 am

    – Heartland
    – Call the Midwife (not sure your hubby would like this one. There is lots of screaming and giving birth). It sounds like a reality show but no, it is a wonderful story that takes place in England in the mid-1900s.
    -Coach
    -Downton Abbey

  • Holly February 10, 2015 at 11:48 am

Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Sports Night

  • Full Time Wife Life February 10, 2015 at 11:52 am

So funny! When my hubby and I got married, we rented 24 from Blockbuster, too, and literally spent the whole weekend in our house watching it! Our first binge watch, as well, hehe.

  • Nadine February 10, 2015 at 11:52 am

Oh my gosh! Shay you have to get on to Modern Family !!! You will be hooked, I am exactly the same with my binge ways.. Modern Family and Friends are my main two I put on before I go to sleep when I am stuck up in bed. I really think you will enjoy it!

    My suggestions:

    – Modern Family
    – Orange is the New black
    – United States of Tara
    – Desperate House Wives
    – Lost

(currently just started "How to get away with Murder" .. just started here in Australia on tv, so not exactly binge but still)

  • susan February 10, 2015 at 11:52 am

Friday Night Lights, The Closer, Monk, House, Justified, Prison Break

  • Mimi February 10, 2015 at 11:53 am

While my kids were growing up, we always had a strict rule about no TV on school nights. (In fact, most of the time we didn't even have cable during the school year to avoid the temptation). Now that they're all grown up, I am having the time of my life catching up on series that I missed. I'm currently binge watching Gilmore Girls–how did I not know about this delightful show?! I also wait each season for Downton Abbey to come out on DVD so I can watch it in one fell swoop.

Series I've loved are The Office, Parks and Rec, and The Big Bang Theory.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 11:54 am

I am so glad that I am not alone in my binge watching !! I am in the middle of watching Arrow and loved How I Met Your Mother, Sex In The City and 24.

  • Natalie Proeber February 10, 2015 at 11:55 am

    Homeland!!

  • Chrissy February 10, 2015 at 11:56 am

Suits on USA is amazing! If you watch the pilot episode, you will be hooked! We also love Homeland.

  • Kellie February 10, 2015 at 11:56 am

Jane the Virgin. Great show. Nothing else like it on TV

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 11:58 am

Homeland – Homeland – Homeland!! All time favorite show and would rank it up there with Breaking Bad.

  • Kathleen February 10, 2015 at 11:58 am

Me & my hubby LOVE binge watching Netflix! It gets me in trouble though because I can't stop watching and then go to bed late! Ha! We have watched The Walking Dead (still on TV and it is SOOO GOOD!!!), Breaking Bad (loved it!), and are now currently into Dexter (still in the 1st season!). You MUST watch Grey's Anatomy from the beginning. I have always watched it and still watch it to this day. It's so good. Private Practice and Desperate Housewives would also be good girly ones for you to watch. I put my 10 seasons of Friends on at night on repeat before I go to bed kinda like you do! Love me some Friends!!! My sister in law got me into Pretty Little Liars last year during a little snow break we had but I never finished it so that's on my list for this summer (im a teacher!). Can't wait to see everyone else's suggestions!!!

  • Andrew and Kate February 10, 2015 at 12:00 pm

Peaky Blinders on Netflix! It is a British series. Deals with post WW1 and gang seen. It is a fantastic show

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:01 pm

Scandal! My husband & I just watched all 4 seasons in a week. (We just had a baby, so besides feelings & naps we don't have much else on at the moment!)

  • Christina February 10, 2015 at 12:01 pm

Once Upon A Time! Just binge watched 3 seasons. Cancelled my satellite so now I have to wait for season 4 to come on Netflix! So good!

I'm going to watch parenthood now

  • Kristyn Luger February 10, 2015 at 12:01 pm

You should watch these shows! They are so good that I've watched the whole series & then watch the whole series over again!
    -One Tree Hill
    -The office

  • Shayna Bonney February 10, 2015 at 12:02 pm

Oh my goodness. Breaking Bad was so good! They just came out with a show called, "Better Call Saul." Not sure what it's about. We don't have cable so I'll have to wait until it comes out on Netflix! You and your hubby HAVE to watch together SONS OF ANARCHY. I just got teary eyed because it's now over and it was the best show EVER. There are so many more good ones that I could list. But that is the most important! πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:02 pm

Friday Night Lights since you are from Texas (clear eyes full hearts can't lose! Texas forever1).

And since you love British things, check out Mr. Selfridge on Netflix.

Veronica Mars is also a great show to binge on.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:02 pm

For sure you need to watch Friday Night Lights, you will fall in LOVE! Grey's Anatomy seasons 1-5 are great…after that it kind of lost me but I'd recommend the first few seasons. Modern Family is pretty funny, definitely something you can have on in the background.

  • Christi February 10, 2015 at 12:05 pm

    Friday Night Lights!!!

  • Amanda February 10, 2015 at 12:07 pm

Homeland is so good I can't stop watching – the Netflix can't come fast enough!

  • Lisa Smith February 10, 2015 at 12:08 pm

Agree with a lot of the ones above, but you have to binge watch Sons of Anarchy. It is violent, but such an amazing, layered show from start to finish.

  • Lisa Smith February 10, 2015 at 12:09 pm

  • Jessamyn February 10, 2015 at 12:12 pm

With Andrew, watch: The Unit (so so good – lots of action but great character development) and Lost, Friday night lights, chuck.

You should watch Gilmore Girls if you never have and the first season of Revenge is an awesome binge watching experience. Also love Nashville – my hubby likes it too.

  • Jenny Morgan February 10, 2015 at 12:13 pm

I am currently binge watching One Tree Hill—I'm 36. I should be ashamed lol but I actually love it!

  • Mom to 4 J's February 10, 2015 at 12:13 pm

With your love of all things European you should definitely watch Downton Abbey!! They're on Amazon Prime, not Netflix, but you can also watch the entire 5th season for free (bc it's already aired in the UK on HDTVshows.net. Binge away, you won't regret it!

  • Narci February 10, 2015 at 12:17 pm

I couldn't make myself get through Grey's but Modern Family is hysterical!! ❀️

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:18 pm

My husband and I have binge watched: Friends, the Wonder Years, Lost, Orange is the New Black, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I love Greys and Modern Fam, but have watched them from the start. I suggest Lost for a new show to get into.

  • Leanne February 10, 2015 at 12:18 pm

Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, and Foyle's War… especially since you love England! its fun to see the actors who cross over into each of those shows! a very young Rosamund Pike was in the first episode of Foyle's War!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:19 pm

No one here has mentioned White Collar. First show my husband and I binge watched when we got back from our honeymoon! Fairly clean, not too dumb, and so funny!

  • Sarah February 10, 2015 at 12:19 pm

Even before Modern Family, you HAVE to watch Arrested Development!!! But it's the smartest comedy I've ever seen, so switch it up and watch it in the evenings instead of having it in the background. This should seriously be your next binge-watching show!!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:21 pm

Friday Night Lights, House of Cards, Dexter, and Dawson's Creek

  • Annie Clayton February 10, 2015 at 12:22 pm

My husband and I did the same thing one year when we were off work between Christmas as New Years (pre kids). We watched The Office and loved it! To this day when I hear that theme song I think fondly of that week where we barely left the coach for 3-4 days. Also, yes definitely watch Modern Family!!

  • Twins! February 10, 2015 at 12:22 pm

You must watch Parks and Rec – it is hilarious!!!

  • Sarah February 10, 2015 at 12:23 pm

You MUST watch Friday Night Lights, it was my husband and I's favourite binge show! For comedies, Pakrs and Rec and 30 Rock. Love Tina and Amy.

  • Annie Cox February 10, 2015 at 12:27 pm

We just finished binge watching Breaking Bad too. I loved Dexter and it was very addicting to watch. We are getting ready to watch either House of Cards or Orange is the New Black. I thought I was the only one that has never seen an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

  • kristine February 10, 2015 at 12:27 pm

You must watch Dexter! I'm sure Andrew would like it too! Another good one is Six Feet Under…an oldie but goodie! (You can watch Adam Braverman in his younger years!)

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:28 pm

    1. Rules of Engagement is hilarious.
    2. Friday Night Lights is our favorite–you will love the characters after just a few episodes.
    3. Brothers and Sisters will make you laugh, cry and angry–often in the same episode.
    5. Damages will suck you in because Glen Close is wonderfully cray-cray.

    Just a few suggestions. πŸ™‚

I've never commented before, but after reading this had to say – you MUST binge watch Grey's Anatomy. I binge watched seasons 1-9 last winter to get caught up and it was totally worth every minute. Now watching online current series.

    Also Gilmore Girls

  • Taylor February 10, 2015 at 12:31 pm

100% you have to watch Homeland!! My husband and I just finished binge watching all four seasons in 3 weeks- eek. House of Cards, Friday night lights, and game of thrones are our other favorites.

  • Ashley Spriggs February 10, 2015 at 12:33 pm

  • Bethany February 10, 2015 at 12:35 pm

Yes to Prison Break and bothers and sisters whoever said that, that was so good!

My list…You NEED to watch State of Affairs. SO GOOD and Madam Secretary. Listen, if you really like scandal, these shows will because a favorite!

Lastly. This could possibly be the best show ever to air on TV. EVER. Homeland. Watch it. Best. Show. Ever. πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 12:35 pm

Breaking Bad is my favorite show! So glad to know that you have already seen it. I have only ever caught bits and pieces of Modern Family but it seemed really funny. I was a late comer to Grey's Anatomy. About a year ago when I had gone back to college after 8 years of being out of school to get my nursing degree someone told me I should watch Grey's Anatomy, and that it would make me even that much more excited about being in the medical field, even though it is about Doctors. Now this is just my opinion, but after episode one I was in love. I wanted to be a doctor. Of course it is too late for that, but it was so neat to watch them save lives knowing people do that every day. The thing to me about Grey's Anatomy is that for me each season got less and less interesting and more and more repetitive. I'm sure you don't want to start something you can't finish, but to me the first season especially is worth watching even if you don't move on. The next 2 or 3 season were still pretty good, and then around season 5 I just couldn't stay with it. Just know that if you do decide to watch it that it is a big commitment. The first season alone has over 20 episodes in it, so it is not like watching Breaking Bad where you can finish a whole season in a day or two.
Love your blog, and I feel like I know your kids lol. Have a great week!

  • Micaela February 10, 2015 at 12:37 pm

Friday Night Lights and Brothers and Sisters!

  • Leslie Scheuering February 10, 2015 at 12:37 pm

Blue Bloods is really good…I started watching it on Netflix recently!

  • Alicia February 10, 2015 at 12:37 pm

I highly recommend Homeland and House of Cards. Modern Family is great so I would give that one a go as well.

  • Liz F. February 10, 2015 at 12:39 pm

The very first show my husband and I binge watched was Rescue Me–we liked it because although a drama there was also humor. Damages was another series we really liked as our very favorite dramas have a continuing story arc. The Good Wife is very good. For comedies Parks & Recreation and yes you should be watching Modern Family.

  • Jean Newfield February 10, 2015 at 12:39 pm

    Comedy: New Girl
Series to binge watch: Blue Bloods
You would love both of them. Blue Bloods is about a Christian family that are police officers. It's a fabulous show. I love seeing what you are binge watching. Now we have more shows to add to our list!

Hart of Dixie is a good good light hearted show.

  • Paige @ Reasons to Come Home February 10, 2015 at 12:41 pm

I binged watched Grey's Anatomy and it was pretty good. I think the early seasons are better than what's currently on. If you liked Breaking Bad, you might like Dexter. My husband and I watched it last year and it sucks you in like BB. Also, a comedy that we just recently finished is Parks and Recreation. It's great to have just running in the back ground and really funny!

Modern family is a great show. So funny!!!

  • Mary Jensen February 10, 2015 at 12:42 pm

Now that we are caught up, it's torture to watch it one week at a time! We also like Sherlock, Castle and The Bachelor/ette. It's fun watching them back when you know what's going to happen! For comedies, we like Friends, Reba, and Dharma and Greg. We are currently hooked on Last Man Standing.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 1:39 pm

Gilmore Girls! I binge watched the series and could not STOP. I wanted to live in that town and be their neighbor. πŸ™‚

  • Megan February 10, 2015 at 1:39 pm

In my opinion, Modern Family was funny when it first began, but the last 2 seasons have been boring. I'm not sure if it's because Manny & Luke are older now, but Luke especially is not as funny as he was. (Reminds me of how Jake on 2.5 men grew up and wasn't that funny kid anymore).
As for Grey's – started watching it the 1st Sunday it was on in 2005 and haven't stopped since! Great show, lots of changes (Lifetime shows it for 3 hours a day Monday-Friday) so easy to DVR and catch up in moderation. I do love some Grey's! And I'm with it until those hospital doors close for good.
Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and Big Bang Theory reruns will never get old!!! πŸ™‚

  • Melissa Joseph February 10, 2015 at 1:40 pm

Desperate Housewives!!!!! And yes, you should really watch Grey's Anatomy.

  • Max's mom February 10, 2015 at 1:41 pm

I promise that you and your husband would like Damages. I randomly came across it on Netflix one night and became addicted. It is a legal drama/thriller/mystery with Glenn Close and Rose Bryne (from Bridesmaids…love her!). Enjoy:)
Ps- You and your family are simply adorable and inspiring. I am a little addicted to your blog updates (kind of like a good show!).

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 1:42 pm

You definitely need to watch Downton Abbey. Season 5 is currently on PBS on Sunday night. You really need to watch the seasons in order so you know what's going on. We checked them out from our local library. It's an excellent British drama series!

  • Klm513 February 10, 2015 at 1:46 pm

Binge watching shows is my love language…
Friday night lights, Downton Abbey, Modern Family, Greys Anatomy for sure, how to get away with murder is really good and just on season one, one tree hill is my all time favorite, and The Good Wife. So many good shows!!!

  • Jennifer Goodwin February 10, 2015 at 1:48 pm

I am binge watching Army Wives for the second time. It is so good! My dad was military, so that life has always fascinated me. Parenthood was one I watched to catch up because I started late.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 1:49 pm

24 is one of our favorites too.
Brothers and Sisters was really good but Modern Family is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nicole Miller February 10, 2015 at 1:50 pm

  • Jaylyn Bond February 10, 2015 at 1:50 pm

  • Emily Harrison February 10, 2015 at 1:51 pm

    Gilmore Girls
    Brothers and Sisters
    Chuck
    The Office
Big Bang Theory is a must, it's still running so you would not be able to watch from beginning to end just yet.

I think Saved by the Bell is great to binge watch too. Who doesn't want to watch Zack Morris all day?

  • Alyssa Godfrey February 10, 2015 at 1:53 pm

The Walking Dead!! So good! First episodes a little slow but then you're hooked! We just finished binge watching.

We do this too! You should add modern family, gossip girl, Gilmore girls, entourage, grays anatomy, and scandal to your list. A few my husband and I have watched together are: house of cards ( we watched them all in one weekend) , Orange is the new black, weeds, sons of anarchy, west wing.

  • Marlyne February 10, 2015 at 2:01 pm

    Orange is the New Black!!

  • Tracy February 10, 2015 at 2:02 pm

Wow! It's early and you've already gotten so many comments. Will have to take time to read through and get some ideas.

I just finished binge watching Gilmore Girls. Love, love, love! Not sure if your hubby would like it (mine didn't watch) but you might!

Some other favorites – Big Bang Theory (hated it years ago when I tried to watch but then caught an episode that cracked me up and I was hooked!), Once Upon a Time, Nashville, Scorpion and Madam Secretary.

  • Rebekah Shade February 10, 2015 at 2:04 pm

My husband and I binge watch shows almost every night haha. We seem to have the same show interests so I really think you guys would enjoy Prison Break and Lost. Friday Night Lights is super good too. As for comedies, we loved The Office and are currently working are way through Parks and Rec – both are hilarious.

  • Jen B February 10, 2015 at 2:04 pm

The hubs and I just finished binging on Sons of Anarchy last night. It was a slow start, but we were totally hooked. I'll be honest…it's no Breaking Bad, but really, can anything ever compare?? Better Call Saul is waiting for us on the DVR. I'm hoping it will fill our BB void. And if you haven't seen Fixer Upper on HGTV, it's one of my very favorites, and totally worthy of a good binge. πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 2:07 pm

I would definitely recommend watching Greys Anatomy (if you loved scandal you will LOVE this) also I would recommend:
    Brothers and sisters
    Orange is the new black
    Gossip Girls
    Gilmore Girls
    Revenge
    Modern Family
New Girl ( really good comedy)
Private Practice ( Greys Anatomy spin off)

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 2:11 pm

I'm in the middle of binge watching Parenthood right now! LOVE it! I also binge watched Dexter on Netflix..so, so good! I was very sad when it ended. Modern Family is very good – its also one of those shows where you can really just turn it on and watch an episode without paying too close attention, in my opinion. Friends and King of Queens are my all time favorites – I could watch them everyday (and I basically do!)

  • Alison Morrissey February 10, 2015 at 2:11 pm

I am binge watching Sons of Anarchy right now. It's soooo good! Grey's Anatomy was created by Shonda Rhimes (Scandal creater) & it's excellent. Shonda has alot of truth in her writitng. I binge watched last year & watch the current season on Hulu.

  • Meaghan Pijut February 10, 2015 at 2:12 pm

You must watch Gilmore Girls, if you haven't. It's fantastic!

  • Paula February 10, 2015 at 2:14 pm

Lots and lots of input here! Looks like I am behind because I have never binge TV watching. I thought I would Friends, since I didn't watch through college because I worked too much. Well, after DVRing and getting behind 9 episodes out the gate, I realized I am out. My kids are 9-4, I am banking on the fact I can in the future.
Good list & suggestions. Only have watched these Greys, Scandal & Parenthood from these list. Apparently Thursdays I choose to pause. I need to make a master list! πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 2:15 pm

We watch Everybody Loves Raymond every night! In fact I am Debra and my mother in law is Marie! Although it isn't quite the situation they have on the show, we really do love each other and get along great but it's a running joke we have πŸ™‚ You HAVE to watch Modern Family, it is hilarious!!

  • hannahsmithlifestyle February 10, 2015 at 2:32 pm

Ooh, Shay you have to watch White Collar (especially since you loved 24 so much) and Gossip Girl!! They both have multiple seasons on Netflix and are great dramas! We loved Mad Men too! If you can overlook the medical inaccuracy of Grey's Anatomy (it's pretty bad!), then the drama is good-although I only every made it through the first few seasons. Take care!

  • Mandy Dunn February 10, 2015 at 2:35 pm

The Good Wife, Friday Night Lights (if you haven't already watched), Orange is the New Black, Nashville, Grey's Anatomy

  • Leah B. February 10, 2015 at 2:40 pm

Great post! I started binge watching the Walking Dead….then watched Breaking Bad (my all time FAV!), I am currently on season 6 of Mad Men and on season 3 of Sons of Anarchy…both great shows! I am thinking of starting Parenthood next. The Middle is one of my favorite comedy shows – it is seriously funny!

  • AmyRay February 10, 2015 at 2:40 pm

Okay, I can't believe no one has suggested this one:
    Burn Notice!

And I agree with many others:
    Suits
    Modern Family
    Big Bang Theory
    West Wing

And there is a short lived series available on Netflix:
    Lie To Me

I would like to go home and watch TV all day now please!

  • Diane M February 10, 2015 at 2:41 pm

you NEED to watch Lost! then how i met your mother, modern family and greys anatomy

  • Beaker February 10, 2015 at 2:41 pm

Mama's Family- best comedy sitcom ever haha!

  • Brooke February 10, 2015 at 2:43 pm

We don't watch a ton of tv, but you should definitely check out The Big Bang Theory for comedy relief! We love that show. Also, loving How To Get Away With Murder. I think there are only 2 episodes left of it, so then you should binge watch it. It is soo good! Always wanted to binge watch Revenge, looks good!

  • Morgan Godbold February 10, 2015 at 2:44 pm

Me and my sister binge watch too! We love Friends, Seinfeld, Parenthood, Blacklist and Scandal!

Some good ones to watch are,

    Drams:
    Gilmore Girls
    Game of Thrones
    The Walking Dead
    Grey's Anatomy
    Hart of Dixie
    Friday Night Lights
    Dexter

    Comedies:

Walking Dead is a great story, more than just zombies. Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire. Game of Thrones is one of those that I think about during the day, sometimes I dream about it! ha

  • midwestmom February 10, 2015 at 2:44 pm

So many great suggestions here. I recommend Friday Night Lights too. I still miss that show! If you like suspense and mystery The Killing is SO great and it's the perfect show to binge watch, you won't be able to stop watching it! I loved Sons of Anarchy too. It is violent, but I love a show that keeps you guessing, you just never know what's going to happen. Also an oldie but great show if you like cop shows is called Life. It has the guy from Homeland. It's so good! I'm trying to get through Peaky Blinders as its talked about a lot right now, but I have a hard time with their accents! Anyone else?? I need captions at the bottom to follow along! Haha

  • Bailee McCann February 10, 2015 at 2:44 pm

New Girl, The Good Wife, House of Cards, Desperate Housewives, Modern Family!!

  • Christina Adamson February 10, 2015 at 2:45 pm

LOVED Breaking Bad. My husband and I were seriously invested! Several times after watching it before bed, we would get ready to pray and had to catch ourselves because we were about to pray for Walter and Skylar. ha! I definitely suggest watching Modern and Greys. Modern is very lighthearted and hilarious! You can just pick an episode and watch. Thanks for sharing!

  • Nancy February 10, 2015 at 2:46 pm

This one's an oldie but is so good – Northern Exposure. Also, if you like history – John Adams.

  • Tamar Gillock February 10, 2015 at 2:46 pm

You should without a doubt be watching Modern Family!

  • Christina Adamson February 10, 2015 at 2:46 pm

LOVED Breaking Bad! My husband and I were so invested and hated it when it was over. Several times after we finished watching it before bed, we had to catch ourselves because when it came time to pray, we were about to pray for Walter and Skylar. Highly recommend Modern and Greys!

  • Christy February 10, 2015 at 2:47 pm

A MUST see is Prison Break… I watched two seasons straight without getting up when I was pregnant with my first baby. πŸ™‚

Homeland is a MUST see also.

Army Wives is a MUST see.

My husband watched all three of these with me and we both really enjoyed them.

  • Unknown February 10, 2015 at 2:47 pm

If you like Orange is the new black, you have to watch Wentworth..it is great! Also Graceland was good. I watch Parks and Rec while I do other things..funny!

  • Christy February 10, 2015 at 2:48 pm

  • Candice Ibarra February 10, 2015 at 2:50 pm

You have to watch modern family! I seriously laugh out loud at the tv it's so funny and entertaining. The other show I've binged watch from beginning to end about three times is desperate housewives! I absolutely love it!

  • She's a big star February 10, 2015 at 2:52 pm

I binge watched Friday Night Lights… it took me 2-1/2 weeks to watch all 5 seasons and there were MANY nights in there that I'd say 'ohh, just 1 more episode' and then before I knew it it'd be 3am! Still so obsessed with that show!!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 2:54 pm

My husband and I binge watch shows like it is our job! When we first got Netflix and before we had our daughter, the first show we binge watched was Lost. It was AMAZING! For an entire month we did not leave our apartment on the weekends, I am pretty sure we called in sick a few times to work and we once even left a wedding reception to go watch it.

  • Olivia's Mommy February 10, 2015 at 2:56 pm

You got me into Scandal! When you mentioned it on your blog! My only pet peeve about binge watching catching up to a currect show that's on is one your caught up and waiting every week for a new episode is so hard.

Ray Donovan is another one…only a few seasons in. I want to watch Orange is the new Black and definately Homeland, I started binge watching that one and now I am caught up!

  • Jennifer February 10, 2015 at 2:59 pm

Right now I am watching Reign on Netflix. Totally hooked!

  • Eryn Morel February 10, 2015 at 3:05 pm

Parenthood! I just finished watching it as well, but I've already started watching it from season 1. I love that show.

I've heard great things about Friday Night Lights. If I'm not mistaken, it's produced by the same guy (Jason Katmis) that produced Parenthood. It's bound to be great!

  • Sarah Lewis February 10, 2015 at 3:07 pm

100% you and Andrew have to watch LOST! There are TONS are Christian underlying principles its insane! The later seasons get a little "SiFi" but its still SO good!

Other great shows that don't have a lot of seasons but we liked to watch as a couple:
    White Collar
    Lie to Me
    Prison Break

Also, a personal favorite of mine is One Tree Hill. πŸ™‚ I even got my husband to watch it after a couple of years and he ended up liking it!

  • Christa February 10, 2015 at 3:08 pm

Game of Thrones, Shameless, Ray Donovan are good. I just started watching Modern Family and is funny!

  • Victoria Madden February 10, 2015 at 3:10 pm

Private practice!!!!!! I repeat, private practice!!!!!!!!! Watch Grey's anatomy first maybe….. its a spin off. They are both amazing!!! Brothers and sisters is good also πŸ™‚

  • Wolfpackers Angel February 10, 2015 at 3:14 pm

I never comment, but I am a huge lover of tv (and an adoptive mom as well) and these are my favorites to watch:

    Friday Night Lights (amazing)
    Gilmore Girls
    House of Cards

  • Julie Magdic February 10, 2015 at 3:21 pm

My husband and I are obsessed with binge watching netfix shows… You need to try Lost and Orange is the New Black! We also loved Breaking Bad πŸ™‚

  • V @ X-tremely V February 10, 2015 at 3:21 pm

In my entire life I think I have only binge watched 3 shows! lol! Most of the shows I want to see I watch weekly when they air. For years my dad and I have watched a lot of the same shows and we always discuss them after watching. So that is probably why I try to keep up weekly πŸ™‚
The few I did binge watch were Heroes Vikings, and Copper. I loved Heroes and I am super excited they are bringing it back for a 13 episode miniseries this Fall! Copper (BBC America) and Vikings (History Channel) were dramas my husband started watching and I became interested. We ended up watching every episode from the beginning. Copper has ended, but the new season of Vikings starts next week!
Shows I think you should binge watch – Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Friday Night Lights, and Fringe.

  • Brenda February 10, 2015 at 3:21 pm

    Dexter
    Game of Thrones
    Breaking Bad
    Lost
    Homeland
    Orange is the New Black

  • Brittany F. February 10, 2015 at 3:22 pm

You MUST watch The Killing on Netflix! It's phenominal. I had the flu at 10 weeks pregnant and binge watched the entire series in the 5 days that I down for the count. Definitely Grey's Anatomy as well. And we're getting ready to start Friday Night Lights too.

  • Olivia February 10, 2015 at 3:23 pm

I really liked "The Killing". Based in Seattle, and is a heavier show for sure. But I loved that the last season was produced by Netflix, because I love Netflix originals! "House of Cards" and "Orange is the New Black" are also MUST watches!! Also, you'd probably LOVE Gilmore Girls, and maybe Arrested Development? So many options!

  • M. February 10, 2015 at 3:23 pm

If you like scandal you will Love Revenge. Watch it!

Also Once Upon a Time is great

    Orange is the new black

Also you need to be watching Gilmore Girls, also very American.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 3:24 pm

I may be the only one to suggest this, but I LOVE Psych. Great show, witty writing, and it is one of those shows you will watch over and over again. It has funny references to the 80,s.

    Also love:

    Lost
    The Office
    Seinfeld
    Modern Family
    Monk
    Parks and Rec
    30 Rock

  • Paige Gibson February 10, 2015 at 3:25 pm

Friday. Night. Lights. (!!!) Seriously, if you loved Parenthood, you'll love FNL. Especially because of the whole Texas football thing πŸ™‚

I also recommend House of Cards if you like political dramas. Season three hits Netflix later this month, so its a perfect time to catch up on the series.

I also recommend Gilmore Girls and Ally McBeal. Your husband might not be as in to these, but I think you would like them!

  • Katherine Madsen February 10, 2015 at 3:25 pm

Dexter is sooo good but be sure your kids are fast asleep! Not really a show for little eyes but oh my word so good. Suits is also so good. I'm currently binge watching Criminal Minds. Desperate housewives is really fun. Grey's is a good watch, but not really a hubby watch.

But probably my three favorite series that I come back to over and over are Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and Dexter.

  • Mikka Day February 10, 2015 at 3:26 pm

Alright! You need to watch Brothers & Sisters! If you loved Parenthood you'll love this too! Also Grey's Anatomy is absolutely ridiculous somethings but the kind of ridiculous that I can't stop watching!

  • Laura Kathryn February 10, 2015 at 3:28 pm

Friday Night Lights- one of the best series out there!

  • Queen In Between February 10, 2015 at 3:29 pm

I dream about binge watching some shows and have so many saved! I actually do catch Modern Family ever so often and I really love it….of course one of the characters (Manny) is from College Station so that made me more interested. I also use to watch the Good Wife…loved it but fell behind at some point.

  • Carrie February 10, 2015 at 3:29 pm

Friday Night Lights!!!! By far, best show I've ever watched! Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose!!! Coach and Tammy Taylor forever! Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler are the best – far and away my favorite TV couple. It's so much more than football. Great stories about family and relationships. Watch please! (This is my first time posting a comment. Been a long time follower, but I am a huge FNL fan, so I was inspired to share! πŸ˜‰ ) One other I love and watch over and over is Felicity. Love Keri Russell, Scott Speedman and Scott Foley. Kinda gets me nostalgic for my college days. πŸ™‚

  • Amber February 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm

I have binge watched Alias, Veronica Mars, and Once Upon a Time, all very good!!!

  • Stephanie Gorospe February 10, 2015 at 3:33 pm

I just started binge watching House of Cards and let me tell you…it sucks you right in!!

I'm also a huge fan of watching One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Friends in the background while doing other things. These are series I've seen time and time again haha.

  • Michelle B. February 10, 2015 at 3:33 pm

STALKER!!!! It started on CBS in September so you just have to catch up on like 15 episodes. It is soooo good. I'm usually just a reality tv girl but this show has me hooked. Great storyline, always keeps you wanting more. It's on Wednesdays at 9 but you gotta catch up first. And it's ok I've never watched Greys or Modern Family either πŸ˜‰

  • Scarletta9 February 10, 2015 at 3:37 pm

Downton Abbey – even my husband couldn't quit watching! This one will require your undivided attention because you don't want to miss a single word and it's such a beautifully done show.

    Gilmore Girls

    Frasier

    Big Bang Theory

  • Jen Urban February 10, 2015 at 3:42 pm

You MUST watch Friday Night Lights! Same creator as parenthood. AMAZING

  • Laura H. February 10, 2015 at 3:43 pm

My husband and I love House of Cards, Dexter, and Downton Abbey. Totally random assortment I know. πŸ˜‰ We also were huge fans of Breaking Bad, and if you loved it too you need to watch Better Call Saul that just started! We watched the first episode last night and it was so good! It's the prequel to Breaking Bad. Binge watching after kids are in bed is the best!

  • Molly C February 10, 2015 at 3:43 pm

You have a great list! If you haven't seen One Tree Hill, you MUST watch it! You'll go through it in no time and there are 9 seasons all on Netflix. It's great!!

  • live compassionately February 10, 2015 at 3:44 pm

Oh my goodness – Modern Family is hilarious! I have seen every episode of Grey's and I love love love it!

  • Kim February 10, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Breaking Bad is my fav! right next to The walking Dead, i dont like blood and gore and hate movies with zombies. But I pormise it will not disappoint. The characters you will love & the story lines etc… It's so much more than zombies.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 3:48 pm

My favorites are Modern Family, The Office, and The OC πŸ™‚

  • Katie February 10, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Downton Abbey – awesome for binge watching as there are only about 8 episodes per season (only airs in US Jan. and Feb)
Greys Anatomy – if you are a scandal fan, its cool to see where Shonda Rimes started. There are some seasons that are better than others.
Gilmore Girls – lighthearted, love the mother/daughter relationship, and their fast whitty banter.

  • MrsBees February 10, 2015 at 3:51 pm

Bomb Girls on Netflix is good.

  • April February 10, 2015 at 3:51 pm

I love a good drama! These are some I really enjoyed!
    Brothers and Sisters
    The Walking Dead
    Greys Anatomy
    Nashville
    Friday Night Lights

As for a good sit-com, Big Bang Theory is one of my favs.

  • Paula Nichols February 10, 2015 at 3:52 pm

My husband and I have binge watched two dramas together: Breaking Bad and Dexter. Of the two, Dexter is definitely our favorite!! At first, I was wary of watching a show about a serial killer (spoiler alert!), but he's a killer with a heart of gold…I highly recommend it!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 3:53 pm

Prison Break! if you like 24 you will love prison break.
Gilmore Girls is my go to show. I have watched the whole series at least 5 times. I am also a fan of Hart of Dixie and Nashville so you should try those too

  • Kaliwood February 10, 2015 at 3:53 pm

Just watched Gossip Girl start to finish. So good!!!

  • Megan Godard February 10, 2015 at 3:54 pm

Homeland is so good! Equal to breaking bad, which I'm binge watching right now. Modern family is hilarious!

  • Christina Spinella February 10, 2015 at 3:54 pm

Friday Night Lights for sure!! I just finished watching it for the first time and I was so sad to see it end! Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose! πŸ™‚

    My top picks-
    Brothers & Sisters
    Gilmore Girls
    Homeland

I am in the middle of binge watching "girls' , it took me 5 episodes to really get into it but now I'm so hooked and it has consumed my life!

Friday Night Lights is amazing!!! I actually only watched the first episode because I was too lazy to change the channel. I was hooked from episode 1!! My husband and I love Modern Family, too!

  • Stacey McDonough February 10, 2015 at 4:04 pm

Friday Night Lights and Dexter – both are a must!

  • Jill Waters February 10, 2015 at 4:05 pm

    HOMELAND!!! It's so good!

  • Amy Coose February 10, 2015 at 4:08 pm

Hate that Parenthood is over, it was the best show ever!! That finale broke my heart! I love Gilmore Girls, and will be starting Felicity and Friday Night Lights next.

  • Jo February 10, 2015 at 4:13 pm

I can't believe no one mentioned House! His witty humor and brilliant mind made it one of my favorites along with Gilmore Girls. As for Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy as a mom I just couldn't deal with those. I just don't enjoy watching graphic and violent torture and kidnapping. They gave me nightmares and left me feeling very uneasy and that isn't the kind of TV I enjoy. Just a heads up if you were thinking of either of those!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 4:17 pm

    Hart of Dixie!

  • Carey-Jane February 10, 2015 at 4:18 pm

Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Mad Men, Outlander and Nashville…currently binge watching Grey's Anatomy:)

  • Audrey February 10, 2015 at 4:25 pm

I would suggest Lost and Revenge. Grey's Anatomy is one of my all time favorite shows. For a comedy, the Middle is our family's favorite. I'm one of the few people that has never seen FNL or Parenthood and I would love to watch one of those this summer.

  • Caitlin Bergren February 10, 2015 at 4:27 pm

Definitely go with "Fringe" for a drama series – and "Friday Night Lights", as well as "Dowton Abbey"! All are so so so good.

  • Jenn February 10, 2015 at 4:28 pm

My favorites: Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Lost, Parks and Rec, Weeds (the first few seasons)… I need a new show to binge πŸ™‚

  • ProudAuntKaren February 10, 2015 at 4:29 pm

    Binge watching ideas:
All-time favorite dramatic is Alias… LOVE it.
Yes, also, to Grey's Anatomy… You will love laughing and crying alongside the main characters. First seasons are best ones.
    For comedy:
Throwback to Coach (remember Craig T. Nelson before Parenthood – loved it!)… Coach was actually funnier than I thought.
On TVland (I think?), they've been showing Who's the Boss?. I liked binge watching. I remember ppl complaining about its series ending, but I'll tell you – I was satisfied.

  • Kim February 10, 2015 at 4:31 pm

Gilmore Girls! You will want to be friends with every cast member! And as a mom of girls you will love it- and learn a lot! I am currently watching it with my almost 16 year old daughter & we are obsessed!:). Also Downton Abbey- give it 2 or 3 episodes, soooo good! It's one of the few shows my football watching husband & I both love! I didn't think he would watch a period England show but he loves it!

  • Erin C February 10, 2015 at 4:31 pm

We are binge watching Homeland – watch it right now. Like right this minute! You will LOVE IT! We finished season 3 Sunday and hopefully will start 4 tonight or tomorrow. I sobbed hysterically during the season 3 finale. Unfortunately it isn't on Netflix but it is on Demand if you have that. We did Lost for a while but then stopped. After we finish Homeland, I am going to start either Parenthood or Scandal. I was going to watch the finale of Parenthood, but my husband deleted it and said we should watch it form the beginning. I love Grey's . . . I think I cry every episode. And Modern Family is AWESOME! Always good laugh.

  • Patti February 10, 2015 at 4:37 pm

I didn't read all the comments, but in the ones I skimmed, I did not see ORPHAN BLACK. Tatiana Maslany is an amazing young actress who plays all of the clone characters in a plot that brings you in. Two seasons available on Netflix–and the third season is gearing up to begin in April on BBC.

  • Olivia February 10, 2015 at 4:39 pm

Based on the shows you listed, you would love Grey's Anatomy. My hubby binge watches that with me as well. You HAVE to watch Homeland!!!! 24 was our first binge watching "event" as well and Homeland is so much better in my opinion…and I was obsessed with 24. It's so so good. Addicting, suspenseful, relevant with what's going on, and lots of twists and turns. Language is a little rated R which is annoying, but worth the watch.

  • Becks February 10, 2015 at 4:43 pm

greys. do it. i've binge watched the entire series more times than i will admit. to anyone.

House of Cards. I promise you'll be done with both seasons in a hot minute because you wont be able to stop watching.

  • Joy V. February 10, 2015 at 4:44 pm

Two really good shows that my husband and I enjoyed together was Dexter and Six Feet Under!! Or a shorter series (only three seasons) was Deadwood.

  • Hollie MacMillen February 10, 2015 at 4:48 pm

House of Cards. I cannot say enough good things about it. Kevin Spacey is incredible.

It is the only show I've watched that I could possible compare to Breaking Bad, but I hesitate as we're only through 2 seasons. Frank Underwood could rise to Walter White status if the show continues to be great… BB was epic #nuffsaid

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 4:49 pm

Prison Break and Orange is the New Black! =)

  • Keisha Dawson February 10, 2015 at 4:49 pm

We love to binge watch tv. There are several shows that we are super faithful about watching each week, but two weeks ago, we started watching Dexter, and I hate to admit it…we haven't watched anything else since. I feel like I'm getting so behind on Grey's, Scandal, and HTGAWM, but we just can't stop watching.

  • JenetFuller February 10, 2015 at 4:53 pm

My husband and I LOVED Parenthood and I definitely cried more than once during the finale (half because it was sad and half because the show was ending). So now I've started binge re-watching it on Netflix pretending like it's not over. πŸ™‚

  • Mattie February 10, 2015 at 4:55 pm

I have the entire series of Friends on my computer, and I binge watched it a couple of years ago. Now that it's on Netflix, it will be my next personal binge (yes, I have shows I binge watch with the fiance and shows I binge watch alone).

    With the fiance:
    Breaking Bad
Grey's Anatomy (but we don't watch it anymore…it got to be too much, I think it's run its course for me)
The Office (we're on our second run-through; we watch it in bed before we go to sleep)
    Orange is the New Black
Scandal (we're still watching it currently, but we're both kind of sick of it)
    And we're currently watching Parenthood

    By myself:
    Gilmore Girls
    Twin Peaks (currently)
And I think Friends will be next!

  • Rachelle S February 10, 2015 at 4:56 pm

I've gone through West Wing on Netflix twice, I also LOVE Blue Bloods and Numb3rs. So good to binge watch! Another light/ in the background one for me is Gilmore Girls

  • Meg A. February 10, 2015 at 4:57 pm

Suits for sure! Also, West Wing and Grey's Anatomy. So, so good!

  • Sarah February 10, 2015 at 11:01 am

    Orange is the New Black!!

  • Manda J February 10, 2015 at 11:02 am

    I would recommend
    Brothers & Sisters
    Friday Night Lights
    Parks & Rec
    The Office

    Enjoy!!!!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 5:08 pm

Hi Shay! I'm surprised only a few people have mentioned this one, but you must watch Damages. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Just give it a try! It was the very first show that I binge-watched several years ago, and it drew me in from the first twisted episode. There are so many other great suggestions in the comments, but please… I beg of you to give Damages a try. If I could, I would erase my memory of the whole show and watch it all over again. Happy bingeing! πŸ™‚ –Becca

  • Mely H February 10, 2015 at 5:11 pm

    Shay,
I love to watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix before going to bed!

Gilmore Girls and House of Cards… totally different shows but sooo good! There are too many comments for me to read through, so if these are repeats, sorry πŸ™‚

**How to Get Away With Murder

All good ones! I also love Modern Family. It is short and hilarious.

  • Kelly February 10, 2015 at 5:24 pm

If you haven't watched West Wing then you absolutely must! It's a great one to binge watch.

I just discovered Friends on Netflix and had to practically pry myself away. I need a weekend with no obligations or anything to do and I would sit and watch all 10 seasons back to back with little to no shame.

That scenario will probably happen around the year 2047.

  • Elizabeth T. February 10, 2015 at 5:26 pm

You definitely need to be watching Modern Family…..HILARIOUS!!!! My all time favorite series that you need to try, though, is Gilmore Girls. I have all seven seasons and can watch each episode over and over. It's very witty and the dialogue is fast-paced, which is probably a result of the main characters' addiction to coffee! Right up your ally!

  • Lisa February 10, 2015 at 5:28 pm

I agree, you need Modern Family and Grey's in your life. You also need Psych!, omgosh, it's the best! And The Middle, comes on before Modern Family. The mom from Everybody Loves Raymond is the mom in The Middle. It's greatness.

  • Meggan Mod February 10, 2015 at 5:28 pm

Hi:) So this one might come out of left field, but my husband and I watch Sherlock on BBC America. It's captivating. It's also very, very funny. Each episode is around 90 minutes, which is perfect for watching one per night, maybe 2 on a Friday or Saturday:) You should check it out!

  • Rebecca Batten February 10, 2015 at 5:28 pm

Without a doubt House of Cards. Kevin Spacey and a Robin Wright are fantastic. You will not be disappointed. Plus the whole 3rd season will be released on Netflix later this month

  • Blu and Darbi February 10, 2015 at 5:31 pm

Here are the shows we have binge watched in recent years, in order of our favorites:

    1) Friday Night Lights
    2) 24
    3) The Mentalist
    4) Lie to Me
    5) Lost
    6) Old seasons of Survivor

You would LOVE Friday Night Lights! The Mentalist is also so good!!

  • J.B. February 10, 2015 at 5:37 pm

House of Cards – and Game of Thrones!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 5:41 pm

    FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.
Brothers & Sisters is also good.
I hear the West Wing is good, but it takes awhile to get used to how poor quality the lighting/video is in the beginning. I'm struggling to get into it….

    Seriously, though, Friday Night Lights.

  • Girlinpearls22 February 10, 2015 at 5:54 pm

Sherlock! there are only a few episodes but they are pretty long. Its so good but you have to be able to pay attention to get the full affect. Also, Gilmore Girls & Criminal Minds!

  • Shannon February 10, 2015 at 6:02 pm

Parks and Rec and Gilmore girls!

  • Emily February 10, 2015 at 6:03 pm

  • Cass February 10, 2015 at 6:04 pm

Top 3 shows … The West Wing, Friday Night Lights and The Killing. All amazing, real, top-notch acting shows. I JUST finished obsessively going through The Killing and it was brilliant!!

  • Natalie Clark February 10, 2015 at 6:05 pm

I do the exact same thing! I'm a teacher, so during the summers I will often binge watch while working on a project at home or putting laundry away. Confession- I teach middle school and my girls always talk about Pretty Little Liars, so last year I binged watch during Christmas Break and got hooked! My husband and I also binge watch like crazy! We love Scandal, Black List, Dallas, Heart of Dixie (super light-hearted and adorable), Revenge, and we just started The Walking Dead last night.

Since I'm on maternity leave, ones that I watch on my own are Parenthood, Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy. Holy Moly! It looks like I watch too much tv! Oh and I am thinking about binge watching Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce on Bravo!

  • Jen February 10, 2015 at 6:15 pm

My hubby and I do the same thing! Our favorites were Alias and Lost!!!! πŸ™‚ And Friends is my all time favorite to have in the background or when I'm falling asleep at night. πŸ™‚

  • Tracie Briggs February 10, 2015 at 6:33 pm

I would highly recommend watching Modern Family – it's hilarious. It's one of the few shows that literally makes me laugh out loud. I too like King of Queens – hilarious! Have you ever seen Will & Grace?? That's another good one.
    ?

  • Danielle February 10, 2015 at 6:35 pm

We're professional binge watchers over here. Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife for you (my husband is NOT a fan of either). House of Cards, The Killing, The Fall, Lost, and Fringe for the two of you to watch together. Gilmore Girls, The Office (US and UK versions), and Modern Family for comedy.

  • Amy February 10, 2015 at 6:35 pm

I just started binge watching Scandal! Also love Downton Abbey & The Middle & 24. All I can say with all these comments is – where do people find the time???? I have 3 kids & am a stay at home mom & I can't binge watch much so I really have no idea when you all watch so much tv!! πŸ™‚ Jealous!! πŸ˜‰

  • Sarah Witowski February 10, 2015 at 6:38 pm

My husband and I are currently binge watching The Good Wife. It is Soooooo good!!!! We watch the new episodes every Sunday but hadn't watched any of the older seasons. Oh my, they are too good! It's hard to go to bed at night but with 3 littles 4 and under, I have to force myself to stop watching after 3 episodes.

  • Rebecca Parde February 10, 2015 at 6:38 pm

You should absolutely watch Grey's! I think I've watched it 2-3 times all the way until the current season. I highly recommend Psych and Monk.

  • Melissa at HOUSEography February 10, 2015 at 6:41 pm

Homeland!! I'm currently binge watching Parenthood and love it. Do you watch Downton Abbey? So good!!

  • Melissa February 10, 2015 at 6:46 pm

Wow, lots of suggestions already. But you have to watch West Wing and Veronica Mars. VM is only three seasons (plus then there's the movie.) Started binge watching that one while living in England for a month with two tiny children while my husband did research for his PhD. And West Wing is just the best ever.

My favorite comedy to turn on while folding laundry or something else is The Middle. Love a comedy not based in CA or NYC, about a pretty normal family (though they obviously ramp up their quirks because it is tv.)

Please share what you end up choosing!

  • Melissa February 10, 2015 at 6:48 pm

Oh, and Gilmore Girls. Watched that one when it was on tv, but still put the dvds in at random times.

  • Pass the Paleo February 10, 2015 at 12:50 pm

You should listen to the Serial podcast. It's like 12 episodes each between 30-60 minutes. It's really gripping. You'll love it.

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 6:58 pm

Never commented but will today. I love "Orphan Black" and "Homeland" comedy wise "Big Bang Theory" and an oldie but goodie is "Golden Girl!"

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 7:11 pm

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 7:39 pm

Definitely Friday Night Lights and The Middle (Patricia Heaton from Everybody loves Raymond is the mom). Big Bang Theory is another comedy that I enjoy!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 7:40 pm

Mr. Selfridge and The Good Wife are wonderful also.

  • rebecca-anne February 10, 2015 at 7:41 pm

Pretty Little Liars! Right now it is in the middle of season 5 on TV but seasons 1-4 are on Netflix. I watched it and then had my mom watch it with me. We were both hooked! So many of my friends watch it and she got plenty of hers hooked on it too. It seems like a show that is targeted more towards my age of audience (20) or teenagers but if you watch a few episodes you will see it is so so so good! Once you start it you can't stop.

  • Lora G February 10, 2015 at 7:42 pm

I am binge watching Parenthood and I've never been happier πŸ˜‰
Watch HOMELAND! So flippin' good and very 24-ish!!!

  • Katie February 10, 2015 at 1:47 pm

    Three words….Friday Night Lights.

  • Laura Youker February 10, 2015 at 1:51 pm

    My recommendations would be:

    Gilmore Girls
    One Tree Hill
    The Big Bang Theory
    NCIS
Private Practice (I never watched Grey's but watched this, weird I know)
    Rules of Engagement

Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and How To Get Away With Murder are a little be newer so it would be harder to binge watch but they are so good!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 7:58 pm

    -Brothers & Sisters
    -Nashville
    -About a Boy

Oh my goodness!!! Modern Family is GREAT!!!! Definitely one to watch!! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Greek on ABC family. Its over now, but was on Netflix and its so much fun! I feel terrible leaving you a comment after seeing you already have 334 to read through!!! BUT! I have to share a couple of great series to binge watch. First up, The West Wing. So so SOOO good! Then, Call The Midwife. It's a PBS series, currently still running but the first 3 seasons are on Netflix so you must watch those to catch up. I'm currently binge watching Gilmore Girls, didn't watch it when it was on TV so am enjoying it for the first time. Another series, Ally McBeal. Watched it while on TV and have watched it again on NF. So good!

Friends, The Big Bang Theory are almost always on at my house. (I own the entire series of Friends). How I met your mother was great (missing it now) and Mom is awesome as well. We watch from beginning to end over again The West Wing & my hubby hooked me on the Stargate series (we own most of these as well). We have discussed Walking Dead & Breaking Bad on Netflix. He just told me he found MASH (a really oldie but would be worth it).

I might have to use your list to add on. And I love Grey's … even when I'm annoyed with the cliffhangers. πŸ˜€

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 11:27 pm

Gilmore Girls is hilarious and a very family-oriented show; I love a good mother-daughter duo. Grey's Anatomy is great and Desperate Housewives too. If you're looking for another lighthearted comedy to watch I HIGHLY recommend New Girl. It will have you laughing out loud every episode πŸ™‚

  • Jennifer February 10, 2015 at 11:30 pm

We just started watching "The Honorable Woman." Holy moly – totally addicted already. On the plus side, it's only 8 episodes, so it's short and sweet!

  • Anonymous February 10, 2015 at 11:45 pm

I've only ever binge-watched two series…The West Wing…and that was after having watched it while it was on episode by episode and then we binge-watched the whole series…and Homeland. I watched one episode in the second season and I immediately had to find the first season and binge-watch to catch up.
If you've never seen The Good Wife…that would be a good one.

  • Alicia {Murry Mayhem} February 10, 2015 at 11:47 pm

Gilmore Girls!!! I've literally watched the whole series 10+ times, I love it that much!
    House
    Medium
    Big Bang Theory

  • sarah c February 10, 2015 at 11:50 pm

Hey Shay, I never got onto Modern Family either. I watched the first 4 seasons of greys anatomy and stopped. I watched pretty liars from seasons 1 – 5 on Netflix straight. I watched the entire 1 – 9 season of office and house. Also I watched Gossip Girl and Emily Owens!

  • Sarah E @ theteacherswife.com February 10, 2015 at 11:56 pm

Gilmore Girls and Downton Abbey!! You must binge watch those – although Andrew may not care for them. πŸ™‚

  • Jeanie February 10, 2015 at 11:59 pm

I feel like such a failure. Just look at all these comments! I am not a television watcher. I watch the news, a few minutes of Food Network, Entertainment Tonight and Jeopardy, then go to bed. I'm a shopper, a reader, and spend waaay too much time on this here computer.

  • Chelsea Phelps February 11, 2015 at 12:14 am

How To Get Away With Murder is my favorite right now! If you like Scandal, you will love it! πŸ™‚

  • Kathryn Story February 11, 2015 at 12:15 am

Modern Family is a MUST!! And as far as dramas go, my husband and I love Homeland!!

  • ec4everyoung.blogspot.com February 11, 2015 at 12:21 am

Time for FRESH OFF THE BOAT! You got a Chinese girl in your house. Time to learn! Hahahahaha!

  • Staci February 11, 2015 at 12:36 am

We LOVE Shameless! It's very raunchy and scandalous but it's so raw and ridiculous. It's addicting for sure! I wait throughout my work day to just get home and watch several episodes before bed!!!

  • Kate February 11, 2015 at 12:45 am

Binge watching is one of my and my husband's favorite guilty pleasures! We were so addicted to How I Met Your Mother that we created workouts to go with the show to keep the blood flowing (10 burpees every time Barney said "what for it", 5 pushups every time someone took a drink, etc). Some we have enjoyed are

    -Gilmore Girls
    – White Collar
    – Big Bang Theory
    – Suits
    – Downton Abbey
    – Foyle's War
    -Bones

I am just starting The Mindy Project. So far i have laughed at each episode

  • Megan Milbourne February 11, 2015 at 1:06 am

Homeland Is very addicting and similar thrill level to 24. Revenge, the affair, and lost are also great! Homeland is by far my favorite though

  • Elizabeth February 11, 2015 at 1:16 am

Some great shows that I have binge watched and would recommend are Alias, Lost, Friday Night Lights, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Hart of Dixie, and How to Get Away with Murder. The last four are still running, but are still fantastic!

  • Mandii M February 11, 2015 at 1:21 am

I recommend, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D, Grey's Anatomy, Married at First Sight, and How to Get Away with Murder. Enjoy!

  • Meredith Rice February 11, 2015 at 1:29 am

OK, I can't read 390 comments to see if it's been mentioned (surely it has been!) but you HAVE to watch New Girls (laugh out loud funny) and Mindy Project. These definite add to your list type shows.

    Also Homeland. Awesome show.

  • Ashley Van Dam February 11, 2015 at 1:53 am

Oh and Downtown Abby. I actually have not watched this yet but I cannot walk down the street or scroll through my newsfeed without people screaming at me to watch this show. Apparently once you get through the first few episodes you are completely hooked.

  • Leanne February 11, 2015 at 1:59 am

This winter.. I have binge watched Downton Abbey and Homeland with hubby. You won't regret either one.. but they'll both consume your brain like Breaking Bad!

  • Melissa Mantai February 11, 2015 at 3:02 am

You must must watch Grey's Anatomy and Revenge! My two favorites for sure!

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 3:14 am

I can't believe you haven't watched modern family, and yes, you definitely need to binge watch it, it's so good! For my husband and I, we like to watch episodes of The Office for our lighthearted TV shows (and Modern Family), even though we have seen each episode a billion times but they just never get old!

Other shows that we have binge watched:
Homeland-so so good, you'll be hooked from the first episode
Orange is the new black-a must see!!
True Detective-Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are amazing together
Girls-gotta love Lena Dunham, such an amazing show!

    Have fun!!

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 3:30 am

Definitely The Wire! Very suspenseful, and great characters that are not one-dimensional. Also Lost and the West Wing are great!

  • Trent, Vicki & Aidan February 11, 2015 at 3:47 am

Right now I'm binge watching Gilmore Girls. Love it so much! Parenthood is also another good one, so sad to see it go. But I can always binge watch it another time πŸ™‚

  • Kim Taylor February 11, 2015 at 3:47 am

Definitely binge watch Modern Family. There is a reason they have won Best Comedy all those years in a row!! And top actor awards too!

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 4:13 am

House of Cards, The Blacklist, Friday Night Lights, Homeland, Covert Affairs and One Tree Hill.
Breaking Bad was one of the best shows.

  • Deanna February 11, 2015 at 4:16 am

Awesome suggestions! I love Modern Family and also just binge watched The Mindy Project on Hulu…so funny!

  • Rebecca W. February 11, 2015 at 4:16 am

Yes, you need to watch Modern Family.

Also, this is a little different, but right now, I'm binge listening to a Podcast called Serial. It's 12 episodes about a true murder story. There are so many twist & turns. I just finished episode 6, but I was hooked after the first one.

  • Tamara Rodrigues February 11, 2015 at 4:17 am

So many good suggestions already based on the comments I skimmed over. My votes are Friday Night Lights, the Wire, Homeland and Veronica Mars. Veronica Mars is one of my all time favorite shows!

  • Karen Engelke February 11, 2015 at 4:26 am

Downton Abbey is a must!! All seasons available on Amazon prime! The clothes, the estate, the accents, it's a must see. Parks and Recreation, The Middle , both so funny!

  • Shaina February 11, 2015 at 4:37 am

    Helix!
    The 100!

  • asreya February 11, 2015 at 4:47 am

Last weekend I binge watched Hart of Dixie now I am hooked on that show.

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 4:49 am

LOST! The first few episodes are a little deceiving, or at least that's what I thought. When I first started to watch it, I didn't really like it so I stopped. But then some of my friends started watching it and said they loved it and were obsessed so I thought I'd give it another try and then I totally got what they meant because then I got super obsessed too! It's the kind of show that everything happens for a reason and everything connects so you find yourself realizing that what you thought meant nothing a few episodes back, now makes total sense. I binge watched this show like no other. It was just that when an episode was over, you couldn't resist but to watch the next because it left you hanging on a part that you just HAD to find out what was gonna happen next. The structure of it is also really cool too because it jumps from present, to past, and back and forth so that you learn a lot about each character and get a ton of information too. It's not until you're kinda far into the first season when it starts getting really interesting but definitely think you should give it a try!

  • Kelly February 11, 2015 at 4:50 am

I really don't have time for DVDs. I sit down one weekend and binge watch like 10 episodes of something on my DVR. But shows I would recommend would be:
    Desperate Housewives
    Modern Family
    The Middle
    Revenge
    Nashville
    CSI Miami
    Blue Bloods
    Body of Proof
    Homeland (hubby's choice)
    Happy viewing πŸ™‚

  • Alexa February 11, 2015 at 5:05 am

I'm so glad everyone is sharing! Looks like I will be checking out Homeland!!
A couple of my current favorites: Nashville and Last Man Standing. I have also loved Modern Family for years. If I were you, I would give it a shot. πŸ™‚

  • Annie Fasone February 11, 2015 at 5:07 am

  • Kristin Stewart February 11, 2015 at 6:11 am

    We do the same!
    Parks and recreation
Alias!!!!!! Hubs and I got crazy hooked on that sfter 24
Gilmore girls – I watch this serious through over and over before I fall asleep. Almost constantly on repeat. It's s must!
    One tree hill
    OC
    The Mindy project is hilarious
Greys and private practice are great

Just a few I can think of now.

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 6:26 am

Friday Night Lights for sure! Especially if you're a Parenthood fan (same creator and many of the same actors) and there's also the Texas football connection. πŸ™‚

  • Sharon Kruschen February 11, 2015 at 6:30 am

    House of cards

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 6:55 am

you love Britain so the tv show Sherlock is absolutely amazing! Veronica Mars and Gilmore girls are great too.

  • Nicole February 11, 2015 at 7:26 am

Friday Night Lights is my all time favorite show–with you living in Texas and having a football playing husband and brother you have to watch it!

    I love Grey's!!

    Gossip Girl is fun, too.

    The Good Wife

Blue Bloods is soooo good, too!!

  • Kerry February 11, 2015 at 1:27 am

Friday Night Lights is an absolute must for any Texan to see! I own the seasons and I will thrown on an episode while I'm on the treadmill.

I just watched the first two seasons of The Mindy Project – a well timed flu enabled that addiction.

Also highly recommend Homeland, it's intense!

  • Catherine Hansen Peart February 11, 2015 at 7:39 am

I am sure someone else has already mentioned it but I would suggest the West Wing. Such good writing.

  • Rebecca Carl February 11, 2015 at 8:07 am

Oh my goodness! Love BB. You gotta watch The Killing on Netflix. And GracePoint. And if you haven't been watching Walking Dead, you must! It's not about the zombies!, have fun, thanks for sharing!

    Hi Shay.
My favourite shows are Gilmore Girls which I watch with my daughter, I have the series; Last Man Standing, my absolute favourite show, love friends, And two real old ones that I watch with my husband are Hogans Heroes and Mash. Never really got into any others I don't have much time either to watch TV, but I did start watching The Good wife and would love to see that series and Parenthood too. Enjoy πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous February 11, 2015 at 9:26 am

I binge watched "THE GOLDEN GIRLS" which is not on your list. You know, Betty White, Bea Arthur……It's very good!!!! Also, I love binge watching the tele series "Missing" with Ashley Judd in it (love her). Plus, "Downton Abbey" and "The Paradise". And every year I watch "The Forsythe Saga". A decade ago I lived to watch "ER" with George Clooney & Noah Wyle & other favourite actors in it – might be worth a revisit but may be considered dated by now. From Louise in Australia πŸ™‚

  • Beth Schwarz February 11, 2015 at 1:04 pm

Hi Shay! My first time leaving a comment but most definitely NOT my first time reading a blogpost of yours! LOVE your blo–it's so refreshing and uplifing. I adore how much you love being a mom and thrive on enjoying simple, everyday pleasures. Thank you! My top recommendation for you is Friday Night Lights. It's soooo good, and it's based in your home state of TX:) I've also binge-watched Homeland (it's addictive and INTENSE) and Downton Abbey (to get caught up to the current season!). If you only check out one of these recs, make it FNL! Hugs to you and your precious family!

    The Wallking Dead!

  • Anna February 11, 2015 at 4:28 pm

So fun to see everyone's suggestions for shows!

They've already been listed, but some of my faves are Once Upon a Time, Arrested Development, Friday Night Lights, Downton Abbey and currently watching Sons of Anarchy which is amazing!

    Happy Binge Watching πŸ™‚

  • Mrs Scratch February 11, 2015 at 4:29 pm

Definitely Orange is the New Black. I binge watch in 2 ways too. I have a series that I watch with my husband…we're in the middle of Sons of Anarchy right now and I just can't get enough. Didn't think I would like it, but it has consumed me entirely. The other way I binge watch is girly shows by myself. I'm watching Gilmore Girls for the first time right now and love it. Pretty Little Liars is also fantastic.

  • stacey February 11, 2015 at 6:23 pm

crazy as it sounds… DESPARATE HOUSEWIVES!!! it was so crazy and so stinking fun to watch

  • Allison Travis February 11, 2015 at 7:26 pm

How did you watch Brothers & Sisters? I don’t see it on Netflix.

  • Devan February 12, 2015 at 3:05 am

I have never posted EVER on anyone's blog, so I feel passionate about this! From the list that you provided, I have some recommendations that my husband (ex- college football player like yours) and I both enjoy!

    1. Justified
    2. Friday Night Lights
    3. Homeland

  • Karen Tran February 12, 2015 at 4:35 am

    Game of Thrones

  • Brooklyn February 12, 2015 at 6:38 am

You have got to watch The Mindy Project! First 2 seasons are on Netflix and the 3rd is airing on TV now. Hilarious.

Then you have to watch Happy Endings. All 3 seasons are on Netflix. It got cancelled after that which sucks because was so good!

Then another one (older) that I like is According to Jim!

As for Modern Family, I still watch it, but it's not as funny as it was in the early seasons.

  • Meredith Broussard February 12, 2015 at 7:49 am

Grey's Anatomy is my all time favorite show and I have never missed an episode!

    The Killing
    The Mindy Project
How to Get Away with Murder
    Dexter
    House of Cards

  • Mina February 12, 2015 at 8:46 pm

Friday Night Lights! Same writer as Parenthood and oh so good. Also love Modern Family, West Wing, Six Feet Under, Parks and Rec, and Gilmore Girls!

  • The Lovely One February 13, 2015 at 4:08 am

modern family is one of the best comedies on right now. Just sayin'.

I have binge watched Downton Abbey (until I caught up) and now I'm binge watching Sons of Anarchy. I never watched Parenthood and everyone said it was so good, so I'll probably watch that next, and then Scandal.

Sex and the City would be a series I would recommend, or Walking Dead (both at night after the kiddos go to bed, of course!)

  • Erin Stinson February 13, 2015 at 2:41 pm

Many great suggestions. But a new one that just started but i LOVE it already…Better Call Saul. Think of it as Breaking Bad 2.0 (or really Breaking Bad the prequel). Two episodes in and I'm hooked already. Ditto to Downtown, Suits, and Modern Family.

  • Tammy Twiner February 13, 2015 at 2:57 pm

You should definitely watch Friday Night Lights! It will not disappoint! Hands down best show πŸ™‚

    True Detective
    Deadwood
    Orange is the New Black
    House of Cards
    Downton Abbey
    Game of Thrones
    Mad Men

  • caseyleigh February 13, 2015 at 9:09 pm

To add to your (really good) list:
    Parks and Rec.
    The Office
    House of Cards
    Gilmore Girls
    New Girl

  • Morgan Bridges February 14, 2015 at 4:50 am

I absolutely loved Friday Night Lights, I think both you and Andrew would enjoy it as well. My favorite show of all time is One Tree Hill, it's just SO good.

  • Gretchen February 14, 2015 at 1:06 pm

King of Queens is one of my favorites! I think it's underrated and doesn't get enough credit. It's so funny!

Repetitive but… another vote for Friday Night Lights & Downton Abbey.

The Good Wife is a MUST see. I just got my mom hooked. The first episode will have you coming back for more!

  • Nicole February 15, 2015 at 1:46 am

Chuck, Psych, and Hart of Dixie…all three are amazing!!!!

  • Anonymous February 15, 2015 at 8:02 pm

  • Danielle Haskett February 17, 2015 at 4:25 pm

Binge worthy shows you must must must watch in my opinion:
    -Suits
    -Nashville
    -Friday Night Lights

  • Ange Greer February 19, 2015 at 12:50 am

I recently just finished Breaking Bad from start to finish as well. …what an amazing show that had me hooked and staying up way too late every night! Probably one of my favorite shows ever! Another favorite of mine (still on TV) is the Walking Dead. I originally was one of those people that thought "ew zombies. ….how gory and dumb", but my hubby was a season ahead of me and got me hooked after I finally caved and watched. So many great ideas on this comment thread. Can't wait to watch some that are recommended : )

  • Karen February 19, 2015 at 10:25 am

    Friday Night Lights!!!
It takes place in Texas, is about football and the character development and acting are amazing.
Comedies—The Office and Parks and Rec

  • merathon March 9, 2015 at 11:36 pm

there's no way i can read all those comments to see if all this is redundant, but here are my ideas if you haven't already watched these:

Gilmore Girls (this is a MUST)
    Modern Family
    Scrubs
    Brothers & Sisters
    Parks & Rec
    30 Rock
    Revenge
Will & Grace (if you have never watched– SOOO funny!)

  • Anonymous March 18, 2015 at 2:41 pm

You must watch Suits – it's the best!!

  • Erin April 9, 2015 at 1:27 am

I'm aware that I'm two months late behind on all this… but I do have to say. Gilmore Girls will change yo life and is equally a comedy that you can leave on while getting ready. Seriously though, life changer. Also, The Middle. As a mom of 3, you just have to. Please. Again it's one you can leave on and crack up and what you pick up while doing other things. But I can't stress enough… gilmore girls!!!! it's a Girls Girl kind of show!!!!!!!!!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  • Mom's the Word August 27, 2015 at 7:56 pm

Havent seen it mentioned, but 30 Rock is a great comedy. perhaps specific type of humor, but Tina Fey & Alec Baldwin are hilarious and has lots of seasons to binge on. Ugly Betty a nice easy one. Ally McBeal was always hilarious too. O, and, Freaks & Geeks (in never went further then 2 or 3 seasons, but funny) For drama; Homeland , and an oldie…Alias (with Jennifer Gardner). If you are into teeny bopper type stuff; The Vampire Diaries is good.

  • Christy Anderson December 15, 2016 at 12:09 am

I think you’d love The Good Wife— great for binge watching. Not a great time/title of a show but super good- Lawyer/family drama show.
Although, there really is nothing better then 24!!
