Leaves, football, sweaters AND SCARVES!

This time of year, I find myself singing like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music…you know, because this is the season full of my favorite things.
So because of that, each year I do a post on some of my favorite things…and there is always, always, always a scarf post.
I love scarves…
This is a round up of my favorite scarves…plaid, leopard, neutral, fringe, solid, infinity and more!
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and lots of scarves because it makes me happy….
This is the third year that the fringe scarf has been out…and it’s always one of my favorites.  They keep bringing it back because it just works…it’s infinity and once you put it on, it kind of just does it own thing.  This year, they have it out in 7 different colors.

And speaking of things that come out each year…this is the third year that they’ve had my leopard scarf out.  A leopard scarf is my love language :).
Last year, I bought this plaid scarf.  I love this one because it’s plaid (which looks fallish) but it’s light…so you can wear it early in the season when it’s not super cold.  I wore it earlier this week too with a sleeveless top…
…and it just kind of looks like fall without being heavy like fall.
This year, I bought this plaid scarf which I’m in looove with!  The colors are so pretty and I think it’s going to work from fall all the way to the beginning of spring.  It’s not an infinity scarf but on this occasion, I just tied the ends together (the other day, I wore it untied…it works both ways).  So pretty!
And because (as you know), I’m plaid crazy…I bought two scarves from the men’s department at Gap because they are FABULOUS!  I was looking at the women’s scarves and they were okay but when I saw these two over in the men’s department they just screamed “hey lady, buy us!”…
I mean, look at this green and black based on!  Isn’t it too good for words?!?!  And then I bought this one too…
…because it screams wear me at Christmas :).
(And pssssst: that black tee is one of my new faves too!  This little tee comes in 10 different colors and is totally soft and comfy!  Love, love, love it!  Plus, it’s under $30!)

And then the other scarf I bought this season was this navy and burgundy one…and I’m tempted to get the navy and green too :).  My shipment hasn’t arrived because this scarf is on back order…but when it does, expect to see me in it pretty much every day.

And because this is my annual scarf-a-palooza, here are some other scarves that I realllly love that you might love too…

And if you missed my Mad about Plaid post from two weeks ago (plaid shirts galore!), you can see that here.
This is me today…
…brown paper packages tied up with string…these are a few of my favorite things.
Happy Monday friends!
The winner of my $200 Nordstrom Gift Card is…
Congratulations Lynne!  I emailed you this morning.  You have 48 hours to email me back!
Don’t forget Meal Planning Monday

See it here.
And of course, you can always find my favorite scarves and other fall goodness pinned on Pinterest...

You have the best plaid scarves – I especially like the one you are wearing in the photo with Ashby. I wish it would get cool enough here in Bangkok to wear a scarf!

I need to grow my love of scarfs, the past couple of years I have abandoned them because I thought it brought too much attention to my face but that's a stupid reason and I'm dying over your fringe infinity scarf…need!

I love all of your scarves. Was wondering. How do you keep your scarves.. Like when you aren't wearing them? I have trouble keeping mine organized:-)

  • Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} October 19, 2015 at 10:45 am

I was all ready to comment on my favorite scarf (which is the fringe infinity by the way), but now I'm feeling like I need to cancel all of my plans today and kidnap Erika and force her to watch Sound of Music. HOW CAN SHE NEVER HAVE SEEN SOUND OF MUSIC???? I'm off to buy a ski mask.

    • Lisa Rockwell October 19, 2015 at 12:46 pm

Ahahaha Sheaffer, you are the best!!! So funny!

    • Erika Slaughter October 19, 2015 at 6:38 pm

Will you bring that chips and queso when you kidnap me?? I can watch movies all day if we have good snacks.

  • Elizabeth October 19, 2015 at 10:56 am

I love all of these scarves!!! Maybe if I just buy one a week my husband won't notice!! ?

  • Leigh Clark October 19, 2015 at 12:18 pm

I love that you found some cute scarfs in the men's section!! Smart!

  • Simplychelseablog October 19, 2015 at 12:20 pm

I think I need to update my collection after reading this post!! Love the ones from gap, what a good idea to check in the men's section.

  • Amber Reese October 19, 2015 at 12:20 pm

Love all of the scarves! I just bought a fringe infinity scarf this weekend for a whopping $9! How do you store/organize your scarves?

  • The Boutelle Family October 19, 2015 at 12:22 pm

I bought the leopard scarf after seeing it on your blog & it is my favorite!! I think I need a cozy plaid scarf next!

  • Briana Rider October 19, 2015 at 1:07 pm

We would be besties, I'm obsessed with fall as well! Love all the scarves too!

  • Megan October 19, 2015 at 1:21 pm

I'm so disappointed in Erika!! One of my favorite all time movies! I'm loving the plaid infinity scarves.

    • Erika Slaughter October 19, 2015 at 6:38 pm

Hahahahaha!!! Sorry, I let you down, friend!! 😉

  • Sara October 19, 2015 at 1:38 pm

I am a scarf hoarder too. How do you store your scarves? I have mine hanging on shower curtain rings and displayed on a tie hanging system but that means I always have to steam the middle of my scarves before I can wear them. Always looking for a more clever way to display mine!

    • Mix and Match Mama October 19, 2015 at 6:12 pm

I fold them and put them on my closet shelf. Before I had a bigger closet, I used the scarf hangers (sold at the Container Store). They work well too!

    • angie October 20, 2015 at 3:50 am

I'm a scarf "collector" too and I store mine in bins, wrap them into a ball or just shove them in….they come out to wrinkled perfection. 🙂

  • Laura October 19, 2015 at 2:17 pm

    You are the scarf queen!!

  • Nina Fullerton October 19, 2015 at 2:20 pm

Love those scarves! And I like you even more now that I know you're a sound of music gal! My mama sang that song to me every night at bedtime for the first 9 (we'll just leave it at 9 ;)) years of my life. Such a great movie- your friend Erika needs to watch!!

  • {Hi Sugarplum!} October 19, 2015 at 3:30 pm

Plaid and scarves…oh my!!!! This post has me all clammy hands with excitement!! I can't wait to bust out my scarf collection…hurry up fall!!!

  • The Nelson Happenings October 19, 2015 at 10:44 am

Your plaid scarves are amazing. I own a couple but not nearly as nice as the ones you are wearing.

  • Andrea K October 19, 2015 at 3:46 pm

I just got the navy & green scarf & looove it. So i ordered the navy & burgundy too even thou its on backorder! My friend even complimented me on it already, great recommendation!

  • Lindsay at Lindsay'sSweetWorld October 19, 2015 at 5:04 pm

GIMME ALL THE SCARVES!!!! What are we ever going to do when they go out of style??

I just got a new red and black buffalo plaid scarf and it is absolute perfection. I wish I could wear it every single day.

  • Sabrina October 19, 2015 at 5:15 pm

I love the scarves, but I really love those brown booties that are in one of the pics…I've been wanting them since you showed them to us a few weeks ago. Even though my size is backordered, they are coming to live with me soon! I love how you wore them with black pants-perfect! 🙂

  • Unknown October 19, 2015 at 5:19 pm

I love all of these scarves!!! In your picture with the fringe scarf where are your plaid and striped tops from? Thanks Christina

  • JenniferJ October 19, 2015 at 1:53 pm

Where do you get the leggings for your girls? I especially love what Ashby is wearing in that last picture!!

  • MandeeVK October 19, 2015 at 9:23 pm

I was in Europe in September and I found myself wearing that leopard scarf from Nordstrom and eating schnitzel. I thought "Shay would either be so proud right now, or so creeped out by the amount that I love her!" Let's hope it's the former 😉

  • Maryellen October 19, 2015 at 9:43 pm

Oh my gosh – I am so a scarf person also. My friends think I am crazy wearing a scarf in the summer to work but they are light summer scarves and they make me feel dressed up for work. I love them ! !

  • danielle October 19, 2015 at 10:27 pm

OK- I LOVE scarves – but how they heck do you tie them? I they all look so effortlessly thrown around your neck- mine never look that way! How do you get the non infinity ones to stay looped around your neck like they are infinity? Any hints, youtue videos?

  • JoAnne Turnipseed October 19, 2015 at 11:49 pm

If you are mad about plaid, check out Pier One Imports Christmas selection. They have darling plaid (and burlap) banner, ornaments, etc.

  • Darcey October 20, 2015 at 11:26 am

I made this chili a couple weeks ago and it was a HUGE hit with my husband! It will most definitely be a staple in our house all winter long 🙂

  • A. Nugent October 23, 2015 at 4:31 pm

I bought the navy/burgundy scarf (that was on back order). It arrived yesterday and I'm wearing it today! It's fantastic! Super soft and the perfect length for looping (some scarves are too small and I feel like I'm being choked!)
Thank you for the scarf suggestion! I knew there was a reason (among several others) that I read your blog!
