Stranded: Netflix Edition

It’s Stranded!!
The second Wednesday of every Month, Erika and I share three things we would take with us if we were stranded on a deserted island.  In April, we kicked off this linky party with What 3 items from your medicine cabinet would you take?  and then last month, we shared What 3 books would you take?

Today, we’re all sharing what three Netflix series would you take?  I mean…this is the best deserted island EVER!  We have Netflix!!!!!
Friends…you know how I love binge watching a good series.  I did a post last year about my favorite binge-worthy series that you can read here and the best part about the post is…the comment section!  You ladies left the best suggestions for other binge-worthy shows right there.  So in case you missed that post, you can see it here and make sure you read the comments!

Well, right now, I’m halfway through Downton Abbey on Amazon Prime…so, technically as much as I would like to take Lady Violet with me, I don’t think it qualifies.  Boo.
So…what three series would I take???  Here you go…
Hello, my name is Shay and I have watched every episode of Frasier at least 4,000 times and have no intention of stopping.  I am a Frasier JUNKIE.  I love Frasier.  I love the characters, the writing, the setting, the humor…I love every little detail.  Frasier just makes me happy.  You would think that I would grow tired of it…but I do not.  Give me all the Niles, Daphne, Roz, Martin and Dr. Crane…I love them all.  This series would make me feel like home on an island.
Breaking Bad is the best show I’ve ever watched on television.  Period.  End of story.  It’s brilliant.  I also think it would be an excellent choice for a deserted island because it would remind me that no matter how bad things got on that island…things could be worse. #walterwhite
Gilmore Girls is the only series that I ever woke up in the middle of the night to start watching.  I may or may not have set my alarm once for 3:30 AM so that I could start watching before my day began.  #seriousproblems  I love this show.  I love the town, the pancakes, the coffee, the dialogue, Luke, the coffee, Luke, the friends, the coffee and Luke.  This show just makes me happy and is one I could watch over and over again.  On a deserted island when I was tired of eating coconuts, raw fish and bugs…I could just watch an episode of this and pretend I was there in Luke’s Diner with Lorelei and Rory.  Love.
So, what Netflix series would you take with you on a deserted island?  If you blogged this, make sure you link up below and if not, comment and tell me!  I’m always interested in new shows to love!  Comment!!
Next time on Strandedwhat three famous people would you want with you on a deserted island???
And to see other upcoming topics…

Thanks for playing along friends!

And on a completely unrelated note…a sweet reader named Mary emailed me yesterday and told me that the wedges that I wear almost every single day (that have been out of stock since the first week of March!) are back in stock…

…Every time I post a pic, someone asks me about them.  Well, they’re Steve Madden, they’re true to size, they also come in black, they’re comfy AND I LOVE THEM!  Based on the last time they were available, they’ll probably sell out quickly…so act fast!  You’ll love them too!  Thanks Mary!

On my foodie blog today…

I've seen a few episodes of Fraiser but I guess I need to add it to my list with such a high recommendation!

  • Loren Lately June 8, 2016 at 10:51 am

I added breaking bad to my list as well, but for a different reason. Everyone I know including you, raves and loves this show and I can't understand why. However, on the island I am determined to find out.

Also, I see a sneak peak of your suitcase in your shoe photo… I think a "how to pack your suit case" tutorial for travel would be super helpful. I know you have talked about what to bring but more importantly, how to bring it… also the kids bags. We are traveling at the end of the month… I never can get my suitcase to look as neat as yours did in the photo.

    • Abbey June 8, 2016 at 7:37 pm

I started breaking bad as well and hated it, but the rest of America loves it so maybe something is wrong with me or i didn't give it enough of a chance.

  • Ashleigh Bielecki June 8, 2016 at 11:04 am

Ahhhh! As soon as I saw the topic, my immediate thought was "Gilmore Girls, duh!"

A few friends and I started a Netflix club. We are watching The Killing and plan to get together to drink wine and discuss the series in 2 weeks. Just like a book club but Netflix 🙂

  • Katelyn Magerko June 8, 2016 at 11:58 am

  • Katelyn Magerko June 8, 2016 at 11:59 am

Ohhh and I forgot Reba and Last Man Standing!

  • Rachel June 8, 2016 at 12:02 pm

Gilmore Girls, because it is just THE best. Friends, was my all-time favorite sitcom through high school and still makes me laugh. Grey's Anatomy, because Meredith and Cristina are my people. It would be really difficult to not also want The Office, because I could watch episodes of that on repeat and still laugh till I cry.

  • Meagan Ruse June 8, 2016 at 12:11 pm

Would you believe it if I told you Tim and I started watching BB, this week, for the fourth time?.. ?

  • brookerichardson June 8, 2016 at 12:12 pm

I would be scared for my life watching breaking bad on a deserted island. It is a really good show though, like crazy good.

  • Jackie Belin June 8, 2016 at 12:20 pm

Fraiser!!! Oh my gosh, so I'm going to have to start watching that one next! Thanks for hosting!

This is easy. My three would be Friends, Friday Night Lights, and Gilmore Girls!

Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, and Once Upon a Time. 🙂

  • Megan June 8, 2016 at 12:41 pm

My mom watched Frasier every single night growing up. Good memories!! And I've never seen breaking bad!!!

  • Tamara Rodrigues June 8, 2016 at 12:45 pm

Have you watched Veronica Mars? If you like Kristin Bell, you will especially love it! I think it may still be on Amazon Prime.

  • Mrs. Kay June 8, 2016 at 12:55 pm

I would bring Parenthood (simply the BEST), Six Feet Under, and Friday Night Lights!

  • Ashleigh Denissen June 8, 2016 at 1:16 pm

If you haven't watched Parenthood (also with Lauren Graham), it is a MUST!

  • JoAnne Turnipseed June 8, 2016 at 1:20 pm

Game of Thrones. Movie quality production: phenomenal actors, writing, plot lines, set design, costumes. Very sophisticated tv series that lives up to the praise and hype. It will grip you!

  • mommyto3 June 8, 2016 at 1:26 pm

I am binge watching Gilmore Girls right now! This is the best show EVER! I so badly want to live in Stars Hollow and drink coffee all day at Luke's.

  • Mel June 8, 2016 at 2:05 pm

I love your blog! I would definitely pick The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, and Friends. I'm watching Cheers for the first time and I like it but I don't think it would make top 3 yet.

  • BronteR June 8, 2016 at 2:10 pm

  • Erin Plummer June 8, 2016 at 3:49 pm

PARENTHOOD. OMG. Yes. Parenthood. Lauren Graham is in it. Need I say more? 🙂 I'm not even a parent or close to having kids and I cry at least once every episode because it's THAT good! Must watch! And Friday Night Lights and Friends of course.

  • Hollie MacMillen June 8, 2016 at 4:28 pm

Switch out Fraiser for Friends, and I am right with you. I feel the same way about Breaking Bad – it is the best show that I have ever seen. Period. #iamthedanger I am on season 5 of GG and things are really taking off. I try to squeeze in at least one episode between when I get home from work and my husband does. For me, Sex and the City could also give GG a run for its money if I can only have 3; I've seen each of those episodes 800 times as well 🙂 And finally, on the topic of binge watching, we just started Game of Thrones and finished Season 1. I think I'm hooked.

  • Foxy's Domestic Side June 8, 2016 at 5:02 pm

Yes to Gilmore Girls, You have no idea how excited I am for the reunion episodes!

  • Sarah Tharp June 8, 2016 at 5:07 pm

I think I'd choose Friends, Friday Night Lights, and The Office. This sounds like a really good island to be stranded on!

  • Reba June 8, 2016 at 5:12 pm

Gilmore Girls is a must! And Breaking Bad is on my watch list! I'll have to check out Frasier. I whole heartedly agree that Downton Abbey is THE BEST!

  • Sara Fehrenbacher June 8, 2016 at 8:08 pm

Ok… if you like Gilmore Girls, you need to watch Hart of Dixie! It is not a mom-daughter duo, but still cute and light hearted like Gilmore Girls. 🙂

  • dsm86 June 8, 2016 at 8:10 pm

GILMORE GIRLS!!!! (can't wait for the four new episodes!), Friday Night Lights, That 70's Show

  • Maggie C. June 8, 2016 at 8:21 pm

My 3 would be Friends, Gilmore Girls, and Friday Night Lights. I feel the same way about Friends that you do about Frasier.

  • Kim June 8, 2016 at 8:36 pm

I have a feeling that you would have a new number 1 if you watched Parenthood. (Breaking Bad is my 2nd favorite) and it's wonderful..but Parenthood blows it AWAY! With your love of family, adoption, and baseball…you MUST..and I mean MUST watch it. I look forward to hearing your review. There are laughs and cries in every episode!! Love it SO SO SO much!!

  • Courtney June 8, 2016 at 8:46 pm

I see a lot of ladies commenting about Parenthood and I completely agree. By far the best series I have ever watched! You will love it!! I can't say enough good things about the cast, and all the emotions you go through while watching. Try it out!

  • Lisa June 8, 2016 at 10:40 pm

So many Gilmore Girls on the list! I think we'll have very few arguments about what to watch on the island. 🙂

  • Emily Reed June 9, 2016 at 12:56 am

You know they are developing a Netflix release of Gilmore Girls called Gilmore Girls: Seasons…should be available before Christmas of this year on Netflix! 4 – 90 minute episodes

  • Danielle Comeaux June 9, 2016 at 1:19 am

    Parks and Recreation the funniest!
Also, just started the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt so hilarious

  • Pammi June 9, 2016 at 1:50 am

Can you link to your jeans in those pictures? Thanks!!

  • Lindsay June 9, 2016 at 2:08 am

I love this mine would be Friends, Downton Abbey (because I haven't seen it and want to) and Homeland we are obsessed with that show! Oh and those shoes are so cute but a 5 INCH PLATFORM ? Girl that would make me 6'5" I'm pretty sure gravity would get the best of me at that point. 1 inch shorter and I might have gone for it ?

  • Rebecca Carl June 9, 2016 at 2:30 am

Breaking Bad is ingenious, you have to keep watching and start at Day 1. Also, for those that don't know, Better Call Saul is Saul Goodman from BB. It is set in his younger days before he became Saul Goodman. 2nd season started bringing in characters from BB in their younger years (like the old man in the wheelchair when he was walking and talking). Excellent job at putting the puzzle together! Also, we love Bloodline, The Killing, Broadchurch (which is English version of Gracepoint). On Hulu, The Family, Secrets and Lies, Code Black, Greys….thank goodness Netflix is on that island!

  • Suzanne June 9, 2016 at 2:38 am

Listen. I can tell you haven't binged parenthood yet bc you didn't choose it. It's time!!!

  • Whitney Woolley June 9, 2016 at 4:07 am

I am loving One Tree Hill right now! And I love Friday Night Lights!!!!

  • Jayme Bender June 9, 2016 at 4:07 am

Ok, I may need to check out Breaking Bad!
#1 Parenthood, laughing & crying all in the same episode. #2 Hart of Dixie, I wished I had caught the flu and could stay in bed all day watching this! #3 would be GG, but I'll give you something you my have not watched and I'm really enjoying. The Mysteries of Laura, she a NYPD by day and a mom by night.

  • brianna June 9, 2016 at 11:12 am

  • Amy Heinl June 9, 2016 at 3:07 pm

  • Buddy's Mom June 9, 2016 at 10:04 pm

  • Lynn June 10, 2016 at 12:05 am

Another vote for you to watch Parenthood. I actually dreamt about this family as if they were my own. Loved it. I'll also say Friday Night Lights, but I can't remember if you've seen that or not.

  • Erika Slaughter June 10, 2016 at 9:31 am

You're not gonna believe this but…I've never seen an episode of Frasier. Ever!!!

  • Jennifer Jackson June 10, 2016 at 10:36 am

My 3 series are all very different but equally good for verrrry different reasons!

    1. Downton Abbey
    2. Parenthood
    3. Gilmore Girls
