  • Yield: about 10 cups 1x

Description

What’s Bat Bait?  Just a fun little name for a bunch of chocolate deliciousness 😉 .  I used two different types of cereal plus pretzel pieces for a salty sweet combo, but of course, you may mix and match this however you’d like.  I typically use vanilla candy coating, but this time, we used chocolate instead to give it that “bat bait” kind of vibe.  It’s totally indulgent, super delish, and pairs perfectly with The Addams Family or Ghostbusters.  Happy Halloween time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups of Golden Grahams cereal
  • 3 cups Cocoa Puffs cereal
  • 3 cups pretzels (I used the “snaps” shape)
  • 8 oz chocolate candy coating
  • 1 (9 oz) bag Halloween M&Ms (reserve some for the end)
  • 1 (9 oz) bag candy corn (reserve some for the end)

Instructions

  1. Lay wax paper down over your kitchen counters to spread your Bat Bait on when you’re finished and it needs to dry.  Set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, toss your two cereals and pretzels together.  Set aside.
  3. In a microwavable bowl, melt your candy coating, stopping to stir every 45 seconds.  Once it’s melted, quickly pour it over your cereal mixture and toss.  Working quickly, add in about half of your M&Ms and candy corn.  Once it’s all coated in chocolate, pour the mixture down over the wax paper to dry (about 10 minutes).
  4. Once it’s dried, break it into pieces and add to your serving bowl or a container to store.  Add in your remaining M&Ms and candy corn to the dried mix.  This will give your Bat Bait a pop of color against the chocolatey goodness.
