Description
My friends Lauren and Courtney shared their Mimi’s delicious eggnog recipe with me, and there’s no looking back. It’s oh so rich and delicious for the Christmas season. I typically make half of this recipe for one pitcher of eggnog, but I am sharing the FULL recipe below. Just know, it’s simple to cut in half too. Enjoy! xx
Ingredients
- 24 eggs, separated
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 quart bourbon
- 1 pint brandy
- 1 quart heavy cream
- 2 quarts milk
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
Instructions
- Beat the egg yolks and sugar until thick. Add the bourbon and brandy and stir thoroughly. The liquor “cooks” the eggs.
- Next add the cream and milk and continue whipping. Break up the ice cream and add to the mix.
- After that, beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Refrigerate if possible for 30 minutes before serving. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
Notes
I typically make half of this recipe for one pitcher of eggnog, but I am sharing the FULL recipe here. Just know, it’s simple to cut in half too. When I have time, I like to “rim” my glasses. I pour a little maple syrup on one plate and then sprinkle cinnamon on a second plate. I dip the glass in syrup followed by the cinnamon and then pour the eggnog inside. You can garnish with a cinnamon stick too.
