If you know me, you know that I’m a tough girl. I’m not intimidated by much. I don’t deal with peer pressure and wouldn’t back down to a fight. I’m pretty tough. With one exception…I have major panic attacks and anxiety when it comes to mass chaos shopping.
Don’t invite me to a sample sale, a clearance sale, any sale where stampeding, line-waiting and pushing is involved. I need a brown paper bag to breathe into just thinking about it. I love shopping. Love it. But I need to shop on a Tuesday morning when the mall is empty…I need to look at the nice folded piles of clothes at the front of JCrew and not dig through giant bins with 50 other ladies…so needless to say, Black Friday scares me to death. The word doorbusters makes me shutter. So, what was I doing out on Black Friday? I was sipping coffee and watching the madness from afar. I enjoy watching the madness…especially with my family.
Love my girls!
She wouldn’t look at me…but she was super excited to be spending the day with Uncle Seanie.
What do you do when you have a famous family member? When you’re in the company of a celebrity? You go to Costco and ride around on the merchandise…we’re practically the Kardashians over here. Us and our glamours life.
Kensington decided to nap half-way through our Costco run.
And during dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, she played a puzzle game while resting against her uncle. (I guess Black Friday wears her out too!)
After dinner, we checked out the lights in town.
Then we went and looked at Santa and his elf.
By the end of Black Friday, the kids were tired (and so was I!). All of the people-watching was exhausting :).
I’m home now…online shopping. It’s crazy out there!
PS: See how Uncle Seanie inspired my dinner tonight. 🙂

Do people recognize Sean all the time now? Must be hard! My daughter has that same dress, which I purchased on Black Friday for less than $3!! Annie

Yes, people recognize him. Since he's been home from the Bachelorette, it's been NUTS!

Can I just say that the photos of Sean and Kensington just melt my heart! I love your blog!!! I started reading randomly when I read an article on Wetpaint. And I haven't been able to not look and see what you are cooking or what your cute family is up to!!

Um…..no. You and your family are much too classy to EVER be compared to the Kardashian train wreck. He is the kind of celebrity that people need in the world today. Someone wholesome and good and spreading the right message. And that very sweet picture at the end is priceless. I cannot wait for the day when you post a picture of him holding his own child. THAT would be People magazine cover worthy!

I agree with you….Black Friday is my worst nightmare. I went ONE time 6 years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with Kate…it was AWFUL. I vowed to never, EVER go again. And, I won't. Totally did ALL my shopping online this year & I am done…YES!!

I have never and will never participate in Black Friday madness. That is some scary stuff, dude.
Love the pics. K and S obviously adore your brother. I cannot imagine how much your kiddos have missed him over the last few months! Such is the price of fame. 🙂

Cutest family ever…even without the celebrity Uncle! Kensington looked precious sleeping in the shopping cart. And, I feel the exact same way about Black Friday shopping. My Doctor joked with me today that I needed a shot in my toe because I was black Friday shopping…Not quite! Hope you are enjoying your online shopping deals as much as I am. Counting down to Christmas, too! 🙂

You mean celebrities go grocery shopping, too??? jk. That's why I love your blogs…you're a wife/mom/friend/daughter, like me. Our kids are the same ages. We could totally be friends (except that we've never actually met…minor details ;)) I think what people are so intrigued by is that your family is as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. Can't wait to see Sean's season of the bachelor and hear your thoughts…and honestly, I'm as excited to see you and the kids on the show as I am to see Sean.
How does it feel connecting with people all over the country through your blog/twitter/etc?
