Last week, we completed our third year of swimming lessons with Mrs. Sally. We love, love, love Mrs. Sally and the kids continue to talk about her all year long. Not only do they love her personality (she is a character!) but I love that she really teaches my kids to swim (and in only a week!). We’ll continue to talk about Mrs. Sally for the next 11 months and 3 weeks and then be happy to see her again next year :).

Our pool just opened! We live in the land of 10,000 lakes and will definitely be doing swimming lessons soon. 🙂

Swimming lessons are so important and a great idea to do them for a few years while their young. Bailey, my 5 year old daughter took lessons last year for her first time and we are also doing them again this summer. You just can't be too safe when it comes to the water! 🙂

my oldest did swim lessons but the 2 younger ones haven't. I need to do that for them but there aren't many places here to do it! Looks like fun!!

Our son started baby swim lessons at 12 weeks old. He is a total water-baby, now almost 2 and has no fear. Consequently, as parents neither do we. Last weekend he tumbled into our neighbour's pond (not meant for swimming, full of pond weed and newts!) He went under, turned himself round, kicked back up to the surface, held onto the edge and shouted 'MUM!' Needless to say, 12 adults were all within arm's length and he was in no real danger, but it was still amazing to watch his skills at work. Important to note though, neither his Dad not I panicked, the other adults were quite shaken afterwards. Water confidence is for the WHOLE family, if only so you don't scare your child off going in again xx

Hey Shay! About that pool bag post, I love love love my thirty one totes & could not live without them! However, I was swooning over your purple Lands End tote. I've been looking everywhere for a good beach/lake/pool bag with a zipper. I went to order one last night and couldn't decide between the large & extra large bag. At 26" wide I was afraid the extra large may be too big, if that's possible! Ha! I've always loved big bags and purses! What size is yours and do you wish it was smaller or larger? Thanks so much & happy pool days! 🙂

That's awesome that both of your kids know how to swim! Mine start their lessons in a few weeks. 🙂

I'm such a water person that my kids both learned to swim by default I guess…or maybe I taught them by osmosis?! 🙂 Either way, we never did lessons. But having a pool in our backyard made learning to swim, and swim well, a priority!
Grilled pound cake?! yum! Have you ever put angel food cake under the broiler for a few minutes…then made shortcake out of it?! you're welcome 🙂
