In my search to create the best 100 bars using a cake mix, I sometimes use other people’s recipes as inspiration. I found this yummy Cinnamon Roll Bar recipe off of Blissful Whimsy and it was a perfect fit. Cake mix, cinnamon, frosting…delightful.
Shopping List
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 splashes of milk
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Grease (I used Pam) a 9×13 baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, butter, eggs, sugars and cinnamon with an electric mixer. Once combined, pour batter into your baking dish.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until slightly browned and firm in the middle.
Remove from oven and let your bars cool about 5 minutes before topping with your icing.
To make the icing, combine powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl. Add more milk if the icing is too thick and more sugar if it’s too thin. The icing should not be runny.
Pour icing over bars and allow to cool at least one hour before slicing.
These bars would be perfect for breakfast! They taste just like a cinnamon roll!

I have a quick question. I kiddos just drank the last of the milk, so I'm wondering if I could use a little bit of water to make the icing instead of milk. Any thoughts, ladies?
