On the 4th Day of Christmas, we decided to make festive and fun
Red Velvet Pancakes!
And the family loved it!!
A few weeks ago, I made Gingerbread Pancakes using this same method and so for Christmas, I decided to try the “original” Red Velvet! This was such a simple and fun little breakfast for my family. Try it! Your little snow bunnies will love it too!
Shopping List
1 box of red velvet cake mix
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Preheat your griddle to medium-high.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl with a whisk.
Ladle pancake batter on to greased (I used Pam) griddle and let sit until you see bubbles rise up. Once they get bubbly, flip them over and cook the other side. It only takes about 4 minutes to cook them total.
Keep ladling and flipping your pancakes until the batter is gone. This recipe yields about 18 pancakes.
Top pancakes with your favorite maple syrup…or…
…make them a little fancy and top them with Candy Cane Flavored Marshmallows, sprinkles and maybe even a little frosting. It’s Christmas…indulge!
My kiddos loved these pancakes! These will be a Shull family Christmas tradition for many years to come!
On the 1st Day of Christmas: I meal planned, ate Cranberry-Orange Cookies and shared Christmas cheer!
On the 2nd Day of Christmas: I made yummy Egg Nog Monkey Bread!
On the 3rd Day of Christmas: I made easy Rice Krispies Treats!

I made these for my niece and nephew while they were in town this weekend and they were such a hit that my 3 year old nephew told his teachers all about the red pancakes his aunt made! Thanks for helping me make sweet memories with the kiddos in my life 🙂

We have been making red velvet pancakes on Christmas morning for a couple of years now, and love them. The recipe we use calls for a lemon marscarpone cheese topping – you should try it – don't know about the little people, but the adults love it!
