This morning, Andrew and I headed off on a little weekend getaway, so I only have one post for you today. That being said, you’re going to want to come back tomorrow because I have a super fun post that involves me standing in the pouring rain in a dress 🙂 .
Aren’t you curious?
Come back tomorrow to see!
In the meantime, we love to grill up turkey sausages for dinner (the kielbasa kind!)…so the other night, we grilled them and I made a quick and easy slaw to go on top (because the slaw is my favorite part of a supper like this!). I combined a few of my favorite flavors and made a Apple & Cheddar Slaw that would be great on a burger too.
Make tonight’s supper easy, grill some sausages, throw on a slaw and you’re done!
See you tomorrow, friends!

This recipe serves four.
Shopping List
4 turkey sausages/brats/hot dogs
1/2 a red onion, chopped
about 2 cups of shredded red cabbage
1 apple (I used a Braeburn), grated (just use your cheese grater!)
1/2 a cup to a cup (depending on how much you like), grated sharp cheddar cheese
about 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
salt and pepper
Dijon Mustard, to garnish
hot dog buns
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Meanwhile, I like my slaw to sit a few minutes before we eat, so I typically make it about 15 or 20 minutes in advance and pop it in the fridge. To make the slaw, combine your chopped red onion, shredded cabbage, grated apple, grated cheddar and ACV in a bowl. Toss together with a nice pinch of both salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate while you’re waiting on your sausages to grill up.
Once your sausages are grilled, serve them in a bun with Dijon mustard and a heaping portion of your slaw.
That’s it!
A simple little sausage supper will taste much better with a yummy slaw on top!

I’m gonna try these. Looks like a yummy summer supper. Here’s a little tip if you don’t feel like shredding the apple – use a food chopper (I use one from Pampered Chef) and chop away until it’s nice and finely chopped up. Much easier than shredding (and I’m all about doing things the easy way when it comes to cooking!).

This looks really good. One question though, this seems like a lot of slaw for only 4 sandwiches. Did you have a lot left over?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! We ate it as a salad with our forks too. So good!
