Um, these are fantastic.
I made these for my friends, and a fight broke out over the last two…Narci’s husband won 😉 . My friend Brittany even asked for the recipe the next day, so that she could make them for dinner that night…and then texted me how many she had in one sitting…no worries, Brittany, your secret is safe with me 😉 . I used to buy these candied jalapenos at my grocery store, but they stopped selling them, so now, I buy them online. There are several brands out there of candied (or sweet) jalapenos, but I really like this one. These are a little spicy, a little sweet and perfect for an appetizer or breakfast. I’m telling you…YOU NEED THEM IN YOUR LIFE.
This recipe is going to make about 24 golf ball-sized balls.
Shopping List
1 pound of breakfast sausage (I used Owen’s), uncooked
1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, softened
1 cup of candied jalapenos plus a splash of the juice in the jar
1¼ cups Bisquick mix
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with foil and then spray it with cooking spray (for easy clean up). Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of your ingredients with a wooden spoon. (I just added like a tablespoon or so of the juice in with the ingredients.) Roll out the mixture into golf ball sized balls and place them on your prepared baking dish.
Bake about 20 to 25 minutes or until browned.
Remove and serve immediately or at room temperature.
That’s it! Everyone will love them!

Hmmm…guess who has a jar of Bucee’s Candied Jalapenos in her refrigerator right now. Looks like Thursdays’ onion souffle will be joined by some sausage balls. Thanks for sharing – I’m pretty sure it will be in heavy rotation before I know it!

These look so delicious, Shay! I ended up finding the candied jalapenos at Central Market – I have prepped these and am ready to cook them off for a thanksgiving appetizer tomorrow! 🙂

Hi, Your link to your new favorite jalapenos vs the old one show the same item. I just want to make sure if the one that comes up for both is your favorite because I want to make these and want to purchase the right one.
Thanks so much!!!

It’s the same favorite! For a time there, my grocery store sold them, but not any more.
