PrintAir Fryer Chicken Parm
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 22 minutes
- Total Time: 27 minutes
- Yield: 4 1x
Description
A crispy chicken dinner made super simple thanks to the air fryer!
Ingredients
Scale
- about a cup or so of your favorite breadcrumbs (we use g-free!)
- about ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, not frozen
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
Instructions
- Spray the basket of your air fryer.
- In a shallow dish (like a pie plate!), stir together your breadcrumbs and grated Parm.
- Take each chicken breast and drizzle a bit of EVOO down over both sides. After that, dredge each piece in the breadcrumb mixture and then place it in your air fryer.
- Close the air fryer drawer, set the temp to 325 degrees and the timer to 22 minutes.
- When the timer goes off, your chicken is ready to go!
Notes
We use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make this an easy g-free meal!

Have you tried this using bisquick instead of the breadcrumbs in this recipe? We always make your bisquick chicken parm but this one looks amazing!
Mix and Match Mama says
Not yet! Great idea!! They make a good g-free Bisquick!
Monica says
Hi Shay, thank you for sharing about using an air fryer. How did you make the sides? Second round in the air fryer or a separate pan? *assuming it isn’t raw sides*. Thanks!

I did the gnocchi in the microwave (TJ Sweet Potato Gnocchi, it’s so delish and easy to make!!) and then roasted the green beans in the oven.
Hannah says
I’m sure you know this, but just in case you didn’t, TJ’s sweet potato gnocchi isn’t gluten free (it has wheat flour in it) – the cauliflower and kale gnocchi are both GF though 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!! I did know that but thank you for letting me know just in case!
Christy says
Hi! This sounds so good. I have not invested in an air fryer yet. Would I be able to do this in the oven?

What brand of g free breadcrumbs do you use?
Mix and Match Mama says
Aleia’s!
Danielle says
Can you share the gluten free breadcrumbs you use? Excited to try this!
Mix and Match Mama says
Aleia’s!
Gail says
You can also use crushed corn flakes for gluten free coatings…nice crunch and has more of a “fried” look. I bake mine since I don’t have an air fryer yet.
Mix and Match Mama says
What a clever idea!!!
Amanda says
Throw some Everything But The Bagel seasoning in with your parm & bread crumbs!! Amazing flavor! But I haven’t made it in the air fryer yet. I’ve gotta get brave and just do it!
Anne says
Do you use the powder type of parm or the real thing?
Mix and Match Mama says
Real thing! I grate it myself too to make sure it’s g-free.
Patti says
I do a baked fish (tilapia) with this same breading mixture in the oven. Now I’m going to try it in the AF
Jodi says
My kids made the pizza waffles, they love them! If they want to pack them for lunch, they can put marinara sauce in a small container and tear apart the waffle and dip it like breadsticks!
Joanne says
Are you able to fit all 4 chicken breasts in your air fryer at the same time? I think ours only fits three without overlapping so I tend to have to cook them up in two batches (since we need a minimum of 5 pieces). This recipe sounds delicious. Pinned.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! If I put one on top and three in a row below it. I hope you enjoy!
Jaime says
Sorry if this is a dumb question but i’m a newly gluten free???. I am going to try your Portobello, Pecorino, Pancetta & Pea Pasta tomorrow and I was wondering which gluten free pasta brand you use?
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve been using Trader Joe’s!
Stephanie Rutledge says
This looks delicious! Yet another way to use my air fryer!
Jenn says
Hi Shay!
So funny bc I have been married for 15 years and just made Parmesan Chicken for the first time ever the night before this post showed up! Cooked it up in my Ninja Foodi Oven on the air fryer setting and it was brilliant!
Would you consider doing a link up so people can post their favorite air fryer recipes? It always takes a bit of guess work for me to figure how long to cook things and I would love to learn from others’ experiences!
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s a fun idea!!
Kimberly Clayton says
How to you get the breadcrumbs and parm to stick only using EVOO? Mine looked nothing like this.
Mix and Match Mama says
Was your chicken frozen? I don’t think it would work if it was. When I do chicken like this in the oven, I use egg to bind, but for the AF, I don’t.
sara says
Any idea how long to cook this with 4 oz turkey cutlets instead of chicken?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would use a meat thermometer if you have any questions or doubts. I would imagine if it’s pounded to the same thickness, then it would be about the same.
