Friends, I’ve been telling you this for years, but since July 4th is just around the corner, I’m going to tell you again…Erika’s mother-in-law makes THE BEST BAKED BEANS.
Once you try this recipe, you will never go back to boring beans.
I have a feeling several of you will be entertaining/hosting/attending a summer supper this weekend to celebrate the Red, White and Blue, and without a doubt, you should bring/make this recipe here. I have never made these beans and not been asked for the recipe. This is a side dish that will be the star of the show 🙂 .
Make them ASAP for your family, but especially make them if you’re entertaining. I promise everyone will love them!
Love you, Marla! Thank you for the recipe!
Speaking of July 4th, it’s a TRIPLE POST TUESDAY, so make sure you also catch my very FESTIVE JULY 4TH POST with Walmart and NORTHERN IRELAND RECAP PART 2!
Have a great Tuesday, friends! xx
PrintThe Best Baked Beans
Description
Once you try this recipe, you will never go back to boring beans. I have never made these beans and not been asked for the recipe. This is a side dish that will be the star of the show 🙂 .
Ingredients
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage (we use Owen’s hot sausage), browned and crumbly
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (28 oz) can of baked beans
- 3 tablespoons of honey mustard dressing
- 1 to 2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce (just keep adding it until you feel like the consistency is good)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 pound of bacon, crisped up and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease (I use Pam) a 9×13 baking dish. Set aside.
- In one large mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients together with a wooden spoon. Once combined, pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish and pop in your preheated oven. Bake the beans for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and serve either hot or room temp.

Have you ever used a crock pot for this recipe?
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t, but if all of the ingredients were cooked per the recipe and just popped in there at the end, I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t be perfect.

I can confirm the fabulous-ness of this recipe! I’m not normally a baked beans person, and neither is my family. This recipe changed that! They are DELICIOUS!!! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!! Thank you for sharing!
Kari says
Do you use canned baked beans with this? How many? Thank you!
Kari says
Oops! Just saw it! So sorry!!!

I am going to make these for a Fourth party! I’m going to throw them in the crockpot to take there.
