Happy Thursday, friends! Well, you know that we are crab cake people. We don’t just make them here on Nantucket, we make them year around because they’re filling, full of protein and delish!
If you haven’t made crab cakes at home, they are SO EASY! It’s basically like making meatballs…you add everything in your bowl, shape them into your desired size and bake (or in this case, air fry).
We love our air fryer for pretty much every single thing, and even if it requires several batches, for us, it’s totally worth it to get that delicious crispiness. We use THIS AIR FRYER.
These crab cakes are suuuuuuper simple (only four ingredients!) and easily made gluten-free.
From my family to yours, happy crab cake making! xx

If you haven’t made crab cakes at home, they are SO EASY! It’s basically like making meatballs…you add everything in your bowl, shape them into your desired size and bake (or in this case, air fry).

Ingredients
- one pound of lump crab meat
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Italian breadcrumbs (we use g-free)
- a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add in your crab, egg and bread crumbs. Combine until well mixed and then shape into four “cakes”.
- Drizzle each crab cake with a little bit of EVOO and pop in the air fryer for 14 minutes at 390 degrees.
- Remove and serve. We served these with gluten-free pasta tossed in pesto. Easy as that!

Oh my gosh! You are a crab cake person after my own heart. No Old Bay to distract from the sweet and rich crab flavor! I am going to the grocery store this morning, and am hoping they will have crab! Can’t wait to try this in the air fryer. Thank you!

I dont know much about cooking with crab meat, but my husband loves them so I’m willing to give it a shot. The lump crab meat, is that a fresh product? frozen? canned??
Mix and Match Mama says
If you live close to the water, you can get it fresh. I buy it canned in McKinney (by my fish monger’s counter) and find it delicious too!
Tammie says
When you can’t get fresh, do you purchase canned from the grocery store or something a bit better than that?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! We use canned crab right there in our grocery store and it works beautifully!

These sound fantastic! If I don’t have an air fryer, could I bake them in my oven at 400 degrees for 14 minutes or would a different temperature and cooking time be best? Can’t wait to try them!
Mix and Match Mama says
That will be just about right. They could take a minute more, but the oven will work just fine!
Jeanette says
Oh heck yes!! These look like they could be addictive ☺️.

Should I try these? 😜😉 xx
