Making bark is one of the simplest and most versatile things you can do in the kitchen. I can think of approximately 5,456 variations of bark (and will probably blog a lot of them). It’s easy, it’s quick, it’s inexpensive, it freezes well, it’s a great gift to give but most of all, it’s really yummy. I whipped this bark up in 5 minutes yesterday (then let it freeze an hour). Done. I had some extra Halloween Candy Corn and M&Ms in my house and thought, “what can I do with these?”. Bark was the answer. So, here you go…yummy, Halloween Bark.
1 package chocolate candy coating
1 package white candy coating
Candy Corn and M&Ms (or whatever candy you have left over in your house)
In a microwavable bowl, melt chocolate coating (stopping to stir every 45 seconds). Once melted, pour over a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. In another bowl, microwave white candy coating (stopping every 45 seconds to stir). Pour white coating on top of chocolate coating. Taking a toothpick, swirl two chocolates together. Top with candy and slightly press into chocolate. Refrigerate at least one hour. Pull from fridge, break into pieces with your hands. Done!
Here is my bark after being in the fridge an hour. See how I lined the cookie sheet with wax paper? This makes for such easy clean up! Now that it’s cold and hardened, I just break it into big pieces with my hands.
Just so simple!
