This recipe is for Sean…
The day before my little brother’s 28th birthday, he called and said, “Hey Shay. You think you could make me something off your blog to eat?”. I asked what he had in mind and he said, “Anything really. Maybe something with chocolate fudge or cheesecake or Reese’s Peanut Butter candy.”. So, my brain started churning and a few minutes later I came up with this…it has chocolate…it has a cheesecake-like topping, it has Reese’s…it was perfect for Sean. He was kind and shared some with my hubs who called me, emailed me and texted me to say it was the best thing he’s ever eaten. Pleasing two men with one dessert…dang, I’m good. 🙂
Shopping List
1 box chocolate cake mix
4 eggs
1 stick melted butter
1 box powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
1 (8 oz) cream cheese (at room temperature)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter chips (I use the Reese’s version)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish (I always use Pam)
In one bowl, combine one box of any chocolate cake mix, two eggs and 1 stick of melted butter.
Spread mixture into prepared dish (this will be your “crust” on the bottom).
In a separate bowl, mix with a hand mixer, one box of powdered sugar, cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, cocoa powder and peanut butter until smooth. Stir in both chips. Spread on top of crust mixture.
Bake 38-40 minutes.
Cool on counter 30 minutes, then cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 2 days. Cut and serve.
I’m a sucker for my little brother. He knows I’ll always make him something to eat. Happy Birthday Sean. Love you!

I made these tonight and I love, love the topping! I wasn't crazy about the Duncan Hines cake mix I used – I thought the "crust" part was a little dry. Next time I'm going to use a brownie mix on the bottom, do you think that would work? Thanks for the recipe!!!
