This is the very first thing I learned how to make by myself. This little recipe right here. My grandmother always made these for us when we would go swimming at her house. To this day, every time we have a family pool party, someone brings the these. Every time. I was eight the first time I made these and I’ve probably made them 10,000 since. These are so simple and yet so incredibly delicious. Thank you Grandmother. Love you.
Shopping List
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring sugar and corn syrup up to a boil, stirring continuously. Once to a low boil, remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Pour peanut butter mixture over 6 cups of cereal in a large mixing bowl. Combine quickly until cereal is covered and then spread out into a well greased (I use Pam) 8×8 inch baking dish. Cool at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
So simple, even an 8 year old can do it.

Sounds YUMMY!!!! I'm trying to keep my calories low…have you heard of PB2? Powdered peanut butter you can mix with water, milk, or honey – no oil so way less calories. I'm wondering if it'd work with this recipe. Do you usually use Skippy? YUM!!!! I just made an ice cream pie and the crust is rice krispies with a chocolate and peanut butter layer on top of that, THEN the ice cream. Perfect crust!! 🙂

Hi Chelsea!! When I'm making dessert recipes like this, I use Jiff or Peter Pan creamy peanut butters. When I'm making myself a PB&J at home, I use an all-natural peanut butter because I prefer the taste (however, all-natural just doesn't hold up as well in desserts as good ole Jiff does). Have a great day!

I made these yesterday! I cut them into hearts with a cookie cutter and dipped the top in chocolate — they were a big hit! Thank you for the recipe!
