I got an i-Phone. This may not be shocking to you because it’s 2012 and everyone over the age of 8 has one…but I didn’t. I had a Blackberry for three years but Andrew made me break up with it and so now, I’m dating an i-Phone. My favorite feature, Pinterest :)…my second favorite feature…how easy it is to take pictures with it. Here are some pictures I took last week with my new i-Phone.
I had some very precious cargo in my car this week…my kids plus the 2 Slaughter kids. It was so much fun!! (At first, it was like herding cattle but once I had them strapped in and locked down, it was a lot of fun!). They were so good and just talked, talked, talked…however, we arrived at our destination and had to wait in the car for 20 minutes, so I turned Aladdin on. Three of them are watching Aladdin, one is making a face at me…can you guess which one? 🙂
I have said this a thousand times…my absolute favorite day of the year is the day my September issue of Southern Living arrives. Seriously. You can ask my husband. And my mother. It’s better than my birthday and Christmas. When I go to the mailbox and see it in there, the clouds part and the Lord shines down on me…I swear. This issues tells me that the hot summer is over and fall is arriving…pumpkins, cocoa and Christmas lights are in my future…I love this day. It was last Wednesday. The clouds parted people.
I looked over at Kensington during lunch on Saturday and saw this sweet face…she is wearing a headband, bracelets and a scarf. She is her mother’s daughter. Accessories are my life (and yes, nail polish counts as an accessory…she was wearing green sparkly that day as well).
This face is just a mess. Lovie made him brownies. He was in heaven!
I sent this picture to Sheaffer. The text said “someone needs to take my Visa away”. I wasn’t joking. It should be removed from my wallet and not returned. Before this day at Bath and Body Works, I had already purchased 4 of those large pumpkin caramel latte candles and 10 bottles of the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin soap and/or lotion…but for some reason, I keep buying more. Right now, seriously, someone come get my Visa…just don’t touch my candles or lotion.
I went in to check on Kensington before I went to bed and she was sound asleep wearing two scarves and bracelets. Sweet girls wants to be fashionable even while sleeping. Don’t worry…I removed the scarves from around her neck before I went to sleep.
Andrew and I had a date night last week and I worked a little at Barnes and Noble while we were out…my life is pretty good…I get to work on travel and food…how did I manage to turn my two favorite hobbies into a career? I’m not quite sure but I thank God every day that he’s allowing me to.
That was last week via the i-Phone. Here’s hoping for another great week ahead!

Oh my!!! 1. Love the car picture!! Nixon is crazy!! I'm sure you were sweating by the time you got all 4 kids in the car. 2. I'm on my way RIGHT now to your house to get your visa. See you in a few minutes. That's what friends are for…right??

Okay…I am officially putting you on candle lock down. NO. MORE. CANDLES. YOU. CRAZY. CANDLE. LADY. Just don't put me on cardigan lock down. Or scarf lock down. Or GAP lock down. Or Tin Star lock down. Thanks.

I was thrilled beyond words when I walked into Bath and Body Works and they actually were selling Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin in the store! Trying to wait until September 1 before I start using it. Didn't buy candles last visit, but I'll get some asap.

I'm like you! I LOVE candles. And Fall time. What are some of your favorite magazines? I'm always looking to add more subscriptions. Just don't tell my husband. He already thinks we get too many! 🙂

Totally thought of you when I went to my mailbox and opened up my Sept issue of Southern Living. Not gonna lie, I'm ready for Fall. Even this summer lovin girl is ready for pumpkins and cooler weather and ok, those chocolate chip pumpkin cookies you put on your blog last year!! (made from a cake mix). LOVE those things and can eat a ridiculous amount of them! 😉

I love Fall too! All those Bath & Body Works scents smell so good. 😉

I walked outside yesterday and it felt like FALL. I told my neighbors how excited I was about the change of season, and they shook their heads and said, "Awwwwwwbray [because that's how they say my name], this isn't autumn. This is English SUMMER." (Except they said "English SUMMAH.")
Whatever, dude! My September magazines are on their way so it's FALL. (It takes longer for those puppies to get to the other side of the pond. Come on, USPS!)

Did you see? Bath and Body Works even named their Fall sale after you: "Mix & Match Body Care – Buy 3 get 2 free!" At that rate, you are LOSING money by not stocking up! (Girl math 🙂

Love your blog! How often do you guys have date night and do you parents babysit? My hub and I are trying to work them in but it's hard with 3 little ones at home that like me to put them to bed!! Do you think you will have more kids? Love your blog – thanks for opening up to us 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Hi Nora! First of all, we really don't have date night that often…we should have it more but we don't. We kind of consider our evening ritual of eating brownies and watching reality TV our date nights (we do that every single night). My parents babysit some but for most of our date nights, we use one of two girls that live on our street (don't get me wrong, my parents watch my kiddos all the time but that's usually not for quote on quote "date night" stuff since they live 50 minutes away). We will never have any more biological kids. Ever. Never. I hate being pregnant. It will never happen. But we are always prayerful about orphan adoption…we're just enjoying what we have now but open to what God has in store for the future (with the exception of me being pregnant again…I am not open to God deciding that!) 🙂

Thanks! My husband and I usually are exhausted by the time we put our kids to bed and end up watching tv too :). Still counts at quality time! And newest obsession -Married to Jonas, you have to try it!
Funny, I too have recently felt a strong pull towards Africa…after having 3 of my own we are considering adoption as well (also hate pregnancy and for how sick I get I feel it would be hard to put my kids through that again)
Anyway thank you for answering my questions!!
