All of you buffalo wings people out there rejoice…I made the perfect Sloppy Joe for you.
You know how much I love a Joe, right? They’re just simple, family food. They’re real crowd pleasers. This Joe uses ground turkey and the flavors of buffalo wings. The best part? They’re simple and will be on your table in no time. Happy dinner!
This recipe serves 4 adults.
Shopping List
1 pound of ground turkey
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
1 cup of buffalo sauce (I used Frank’s)
Burger Buns
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
Salt and Pepper
Chopped red onion, chopped green onion, chopped celery and/or blue cheese to garnish
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown your ground turkey in a few tablespoons of EVOO. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Once your turkey is browned and crumbly, reduce the heat to low and stir in your tomato sauce and buffalo sauce. Let the sauce simmer just a few minutes.
Take one burger bun and load it up with your turkey filling. Garnish with your favorite buffalo toppings.
Dinner is done. Simple, fast and perfect for busy weeknights.

I'm a Buffalo native so it's fun to see a "Buffalo" style meal 🙂 As much as my hometown gets knocked for bad weather and horrible sports team (your cowboys beat us twice in the Super Bowl many years ago), our food is absolutely amazing! We have more than just wings 🙂

Could I do this with grilled chicken instead? Like Purdue Short-Cuts grilled chicken or just regular chicken breasts cut up into pieces? If so, how much would you suggest – one pound of meat either way? Thanks!

These were delicious a little to spicy for my taste but will try again with a milder sauce and should be just perfect. My husband loved it though 🙂

Made these tonight and at first my family was like eww! They thought it had sloppy Joe sauce but once I told them what was in it they were more willing to try. Shay they all had seconds! Except for my 11 year old just a tad too spicy for him. This is a keeper especially for those busy weeknights!
