‘Tis the season for burgers at our house! I like to fancy up my burgers a little, so we make them fun (like this Taco Burger). We’re also having several slow cooker suppers this week because Smith has a few baseball games and that makes it super hard to squeeze in dinner (thank you slow cooker for doing the work for me!).
This has been a big month! We’ve had swim lessons, doctor visits, Smith graduated pre-school, I went to Boston, we’ve played outside any time the sun popped out (which has been a rare occurrence these days!) and much more. We have 7 days of school left and then we’re going to live in our swimsuits until the end of August. Praise the Lord!
S-W-I-M-M-I-N-G! My kiddos and I cannot wait for these last 7 days of school to be over with so that we can enjoy the time outside together at the pool! Bring on summer!
…here’s how I got to The Beatles this month…
1. I watched the finale of Scandal
2. Olivia found her “sun” (if you watch Scandal, you know what that means)
3. Andrew and I looked on Google to see which rendition of Here Comes the Sun they used (because it wasn’t The Beatles)
4. We located said rendition and then started talking about The Beatles (who originally wrote and performed the song)
5. And then it made me want to listen to The Beatles a little…so I have been.
The bottom line is that I’m apparently greatly influenced by Scandal ;).
I’m in love. If you invite me to any patriotic gathering this summer, you will see me in this…
…this tank totally surpassed my expectations! I loved it so much that I went ahead and ordered it in white too (I bought smalls). Love, love, love it because it’s longer, not sheer and not too clingy. The fabric is thicker than a basic shell or tank and it’s per-fect for summer weather. In.love.
A comfy wedge (seriously, they’re very comfortable!) and toes painted in my favorite polish (OPI Mod About You). Bring on the summer outdoor parties!
14. What’s my favorite thing to grill next month?
We are grilling fools at our house. If it can be grilled, we throw it on (even some desserts!). Click here to see my favorite food from the grill.
That’s what’s up this Wednesday! What’s up with you? I can’t wait to read through your link ups below. Add your blog and play along below!
On my foodie blog, a little lunch recipe (or side dish)…
…it’s my Lettuce Wrap Pasta Salad ;).
Enjoy!

I am praying for your sweet Ashby and that you will find answers today. I don't know if this will apply in your situation, but two of my children have a blood disorder called Von Willebrand Disease. One of the major symptoms is unexplained nose bleeds. It is a blood disorder where your body does not produce enough of the clotting factor Von Willebrand Factor and therefore, you do not clot the way normal people do. My son would get nose bleeds that would last for hours sometimes and if he got them at night, it would look like a crime scene in his bed. Once diagnosed it can be very manageable, but doctors often miss it. My daughter had different signs on and off for 12 years before a wonderful doctor finally tested her. We were so grateful. Praying for ya'll!

Happy almost birthday Ashby! I've loved reading about her and how much she's grown and developed her own little personality. Those taco burgers look so yummy that I have to try them! Also – I've been debating getting those converse and I think I need them after seeing how cute they are on!! And since I first read about you wearing OPI Mod About You, I went and got a bottle and it hasn't left my toes since – love it!

Crap! I hate when I do that!! Correcting it now! Thanks for pointing it out. It's a good thing I didn't major in spelling ;).

One tiny error in the whole blog.. Considering how often/how much you write on here I'd call that a success!

I'm curious… How will Ashby do with a weekend without you and Andrew? Will she be totally content with Kensington and Smith? Love love love reading about your sweet family! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, our main focus over the last five months has been attachment…and I really think she's doing so well :). We have each now left her and returned (Andrew to Africa and me to Boston) to sort of test the waters, and she's done great. Part of attaching is understanding that people return. I think a long weekend at the six month mark is a great way to celebrate our success so far. And let's be honest, she'll be super great with her big sister and brother by her side. 🙂
Becky @ Little Loud Life says
Can't wait to see how cute Ashby's party is! And sending prayers for her appointments too. Thanks for hosting such a fun link up today!

There is one more Liane Moriarty book that I'm not sure if you have read. It is called Three Wishes. It is her first book – I haven't read it yet but it is downloaded ready to go!! Love her books 🙂

Yes! That was actually the first one I read of Moriarty's! I loved it!!

I can't find The Last Anniversary at my library- is this one of Liane's super old? Or just released?! Thanks 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It was her second book, so yes, it's older. I bought it on Amazon.

Praying all Ashby's appointments go smoothly! I have two boys, both with June birthdays. You'll have fun planning summer parties! First up for us in June, a party at the splash pad!

You have a great life! Best of luck with the doctor appointments. Ashby looks so different now from when you first got her. That picture of her looking scared and sad makes me sad. So glad that she's a happy little girl now.

Haha, I think Jesus may actually be my hair role model. Seeing how long it takes to blowdry, straighten or curl my crazy unruly frizzy wave mess, I'd welcome some limpness. 🙂
