It’s a turkey burger that tastes like a BLT…with an A for avocado. Because…avocado just makes everything better, right? Even a BLT.
My avocado mash right on top takes this burger to another level. And as always, you can totally switch out the ground turkey for ground beef. Happy Friday!
This recipe makes four half-pound burgers.

about a tablespoon of poultry seasoning
1 red onion, chopped
salt and pepper

a handful or so of spinach leaves
2 tomatoes, sliced
4 burger buns
Ranch dressing
4 slices of bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

4 slices of bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Add about 2 tablespoons of EVOO and poultry seasoning to your ground turkey. Divide turkey into four sections and make four patties. Grill patties about 8 minutes per side or until cooked through. About a minute before you pull them off the grill, add a slice of cheese to each patty.
Meanwhile, saute your chopped red onion in a drizzle of EVOO with a big pinch of salt and pepper. Saute until nice and tender (about 5 to 8 minutes).
While the onions are sauteing, mash up your avocados with the red pepper flakes in a bowl using a fork. I like to mash mine kind of coarse for texture. Set aside.
Add your cooked burger patty to your burger bun that has been topped with spinach, thick tomato slices and a drizzle of Ranch dressing and then top with sauteed red onion and a nice dollop of your avocado mash followed by your crumbled bacon.
Whoa! So much flavor and so many textures in one little recipe!
Bun, lettuce, tomato, Ranch, patty, onions, avocado mash, bacon and done.
Enjoy!

YUM! What cheese do you recommend with this burger? Cheddar maybe?
Ellie says
You didn’t list the cheese in your ingredients. What is that? Fresh mozzarella?
