‘Tis BURGER SEASON!
When the weather gets warm, we get out on the patio and grill burgers for dinner.
I pretty much could eat a burger every single day. It’s one of my favorite meals.
I’ll take a burger any way you hand it to me, but at home, I often make them “knife and fork style” just so that I can pile it with extra toppings.
I have been *trying* to add more fiber into my diet, so on this night, I made PEAR & BLEU BURGERS!
I added ARUGULA + ONIONS + PEARS + BLEU CHEESE. (Side note, you know you’re a middle aged woman when you’re trying to add fiber to your burger, bahahahaha!)
I always prefer apples to pears…but I’m also trying to diversify my diet a bit more, so I used pears. That being said, you could totally swap and use apples. You could also swap out the bleu cheese for gorgonzola or feta or a creamy goat cheese too.
Basically, mix and match this burger any way you’d like to 🙂 .
Enjoy! xx

Description
When the weather gets warm, we get out on the patio and grill burgers for dinner. I’ll take a burger any way you hand it to me, but at home, I often make them “knife and fork style” just so that I can pile it with extra toppings. On this night, I added ARUGULA + ONIONS + PEARS + BLEU CHEESE. Delish! xx
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- about 2 tablespoons of your favorite steak seasoning
- 1 onion, chopped
- a drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
- salt and pepper
- a bit of lightly chopped arugula per burger
- 1 to 2 (depending on the size) pears, chopped
- a handful of bleu cheese crumbles per burger
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine your ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and steak seasoning together.
- Divide this mixture into four sections and make four patties (make sure to press down each patty a little in the center to avoid the “burger bulge” when they grill).
- Add your burger patties to the grill and begin grilling (we do about 6 minutes or so each side).
- Meanwhile, sauté your chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat in a drizzle of EVOO. Stir occasionally and sauté until soft and caramelized. Add in a pinch of both salt and pepper.
- Next, it’s time to assemble! Bun plus your burger patty, some arugula, a bit of sautéed onion, a little of the chopped pear and bleu cheese.
Notes
If you use a gf bun, this burger is gluten-free.
