Fire up the grill!
It’s time to whip up some delicious Flank Steak Tacos!
Whether you grill these up outdoors or inside on your big grill pan, they’re easy and so tasty too! Now, I let my flank steak marinate for about 4 hours, but you could do more or you could do less. Just stick your steak plus the marinade ingredients into a large baggie, seal and place in the fridge until it’s time to grill. Happy Friday! xo
This recipe serves four to six.
Shopping List
2 pounds of flank steak
½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), plus a bit more
1 tablespoon garlic powder
salt and pepper
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 jalapeno, chopped (remove the ribs and seeds for less heat)
corn or flour tortillas
chopped cilantro to garnish
fresh squeezed lime juice, to garnish
Take a large baggie and place your flank steak inside followed by your ½ cup EVOO, garlic powder, salt, pepper and soy sauce. Seal the bag and place it in the fridge until you’re ready to grill.
When you’re ready to start grilling, preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Remove your steak from the fridge and discard your marinade. Sear both sides of your steak on the grill until cooked to your liking (we did about 5 minutes on each side). Meanwhile, in either a saute pan on your grill or a separate pan inside your house, saute your chopped onion, bell pepper and jalapeno in a drizzle of EVOO. As the veggies start to get tender, add in a big pinch of salt and pepper. When your steak is ready to go, remove it from the grill and cut it into smaller, bite-sized pieces. Add your steak pieces to your veggies and let everything saute together a few minutes.
Finally, you’re ready to serve. Top tortillas with your steak and veggie mixture, a little cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
So many flavors, one happy recipe!

Could you do a post on the outdoor grill itself? What I want to know is specifically about the cleanup since I do not have a grill and considering to change that. Do you clean the grill after every use? If not, how often? What do you use for cleanup? Do you have tips for easy cleanup? Do you line the grill with foil for easy cleanup and put meat on that foil?

I probably do it all wrong, Suhana! Hahahaha! We use a grill scrub brush thing to clean it off after each use (it’s easier when the grill is still warm).

This sounds crazy, but I am terrified of the outside bbq grill! Anytime we grill I make my hudband do it. Maybe a post explaining the basis of the grill and how to grill ?….
My husband would be shocked if he came home seeing me grill dinner, and not just waiting for him!
Thanks Mama!
