It’s Friday Eve!
Anyone else ready for the weekend? I feel like re-entry into the real world was hard this week. On Tuesday (the kids’ first day back), we were up early, I made them a big breakfast, it was all sunshine and roses. On Wednesday morning, I made three of them cry, breakfast was yogurt and bananas and felt like the world’s worst mom. Sigh. The routine has been hard this week.
Today, I’m sharing our New Year’s Eve shenanigans from our trip to Park City.
If you missed the first part of my vacation recap, you can see DAYS 1-3 HERE. Basically, we landed in Park City and had the best time 🙂 . You can read all about it HERE.
On December 31st, after two full days of skiing/snowboarding, we decided to make this our “stay in town” day. It started off with…
…my sweet hubby bringing me a breakfast burrito and coffee from a cute coffee shop called Atticus on Main Street. I looooooove me a breakfast burrito/taco.
Anyone else?! I bought this from Jane.com 🙂 .
After a very relaxing morning inside, we got ready and headed out. I do think this girl’s tee was on point…
Ahhhhhhh!
She’s so sweet!
I found this gem at Old Navy 🙂 .
Main Street in Park City is my kind of perfect! It has a nice balance of normal shops (like Athleta, Lululemon, etc), but also has so many unique and independently owned stores, plus lots of yummy places to eat/drink.
We looked around for a bit and then headed to lunch (we had to drive) at Freshies Lobster Co…
This girl and her Boston hat. Makes my heart so happy!!
We had heard amazing things about this lobster joint in Utah, so we thought we should check it out!
Ah! Sisters!!
Ah! My kind of delicious right here!!! Ashby got their Corn and Crab Chowder and let me have a bite, and it was delicious too!!! This place is really tiny, but it was a fun stop with delicious food!
This girl took #allthepictures.
After we ate, we went back to Main Street to look/shop some more…
And then, we took the kiddos to ice skate that afternoon!! Miss Madeley passed on skating, so we watched the big three…
Ashby was SO EXCITED to skate!!! Thanks go those blue things, she skated all by herself all afternoon. She loved it!!
Those two 🙂 .
I seriously thought she was going to stay out there all day 🙂 .
After skating, we headed back to clean up for our New Year’s Eve dinner…
…I added the softest sweater to those sequin pants of mine and was good to go! Right now, my cozy sweater is 40% off and also comes in black!!
We got all dressed and headed over to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for our NYE dinner!
Our table was perfectttttttttt! Love those five so much!!!
After we enjoyed all the yummy food, we took a few pics and then headed home…
Everyone showered and then we watched Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve!
All the snuggles to end 2018 🙂 .
At 10:00 (midnight in NYC), we welcomed in 2019 and then went to bed 🙂 .
That wraps up our New Year’s Eve!
I hope you all have a fantastic Thursday!! I’ll see you back here tomorrow! xo

Odd question but do you wear fake nails? If so. Do they interfere with your cooking? I cook for a living and have been debating on getting some but not sure if they would break more easy due to the fact I’m always using my hands! Thanks. Happy New Year!
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re my nails that have been “dipped”, so they’re not long (since they’re all mine). That being said, I’ve had them done three times now and am still on the fence about it.

I’ve been using this gel polish that I got from Amazon, and it helps my home manicure last at least 4-5 days. I had my nails done for years, and I finally had enough of that! So I’m very happy with this.https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CW9UUQK/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We are looking at doing Park City next year a few days after Christmas and into the new year. How far in advance did you have to book your place?
Mix and Match Mama says
We booked it in April!
Kerri says
Looks like you had a wonderful trip! And that is my kind of NYE party!! 🙂 My family talked me into going to a friends NYE party this year making it the first year EVER for me to leave my house and PJ’s to celebrate. We had a good time but I just love lounging around the house with my kiddos and hubby and watching the ball drop. 🙂

The faux deer one? Guess what? I bought it in Park City when we went two years ago!! And it returned on this trip with said child 🙂 .
Patty Anderson says
I’m laughing because I live 40 minutes from Park City and go there a lot, yet you’re teaching me all the things I’ve missed. Thanks!

Hi Shay! I love all of the pictures! Can you please where the case for Kensington’s camera is from? Thanks
Mix and Match Mama says
Amazon!!!
Courtney says
Thank you so much for providing all of this information about Park City. It’s now on my list of travel destinations! 🙂
Jamie says
Can I ask where you got the camera bag/purse for Kensington? My girl has the same camera, and I’m trying to think of a good option to tote it around Disney and the Disney cruise line.
Mix and Match Mama says
Amazon!!! When I went to order her some more film, it was on the same page (you know how it suggests other things to buy), and so, I did!
Sugar Bostick says
I am so happy Ashby was able to ski AND skate! I bet this did wonders for her little self esteem. I just adore her!
Amy Baker says
Truly enjoy seeing all of your pics! You are such a beautiful and happy family! 🙂 We loved Park City this past summer when we made a stop while on a trip through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, and we kept saying that we would have to return in the winter to enjoy it even more. It looks so beautiful there in the winter! Thanks so much for sharing your life with us! I have followed you for 6 years and one of my New Years resolutions is to start to comment and not be embarassed to do so LOL! 🙂 Happy New Year!
Mix and Match Mama says
Amy!! I love that resolution!!! THANK YOU!! I’m super honored!!! xo
Erin says
Planning a family ski trip for next winter and my friends all have different ski towns they consider their favorite (Park City, Breck, Beaver Creek and Vail). I am curious if you have a favorite based on ski and outdoor activity options/airport drive/cute dining and town area!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Andrew and I said that Park City tops our list. It’s going to be really hard to beat it in the future. Those other places are great…but Park City just seemed to have everything and it was so family-friendly!
Meg says
So glad you enjoyed Park City! Next time, you’ll have to stop for Mexican food at Albertos 🙂
Susie says
Do you guys say grace before dinner usually? How do you incorporate the lord throughout the day?
Mix and Match Mama says
We do! We talk about God all the time. Besides the typical (praying before meals and before bed), the kids see us reading our Bibles, we encourage them in the mornings to read theirs too (sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t), we talk about things God makes/has created throughout the day, when we hear bad news/see something that’s not good, we often stop and pray right there. I don’t know, I guess we incorporate the Lord so often that it’s just part of our normal/daily conversations that doesn’t take much prompting.
Roxie says
Holy lobster roll! #hearteyes!
Dana Bruce says
Hi loved your post!! We are going skiing in Vail March 1st. Any recommendations on what to park for a ski trip out west?? Especially dinner attire and foot wear?!?! Ty
Mix and Match Mama says
So fun! We love Vail!! Comfy!! Sorel and Ugg both make really cute (and comfy) shoes for snowy weather that you can wear day and night!
Melissa P. says
Did you guys try the Slapfish in Park City? I was introduced to this while vacationing in Huntington Beach, CA. Now they have locations across the country. Their lobster rolls and lobster burritos are to DIE for!
Mary says
Happy New Year! What a fun trip! Your shirt was cute…Do you order from Jane.com often? I saw they had some cute Valentine shirts!
Mix and Match Mama says
Sometimes! They have cute stuff!
Nancy says
The picture of K helping Ashby skate and the picture of Smith with his hand on Madely’s head are both so precious!! It’s so sweet to see how much they love each other!!
Amanda @ That Inspired Chick says

Love this post! What footwear did you wear on your NYE night out? I’m heading out there in a few weeks for Sundance, and can’t figure out what to wear that will keep my feet warm, but will still be cute for a night on the town. Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
Not practical shoes! I wore heels but since all I did was step into the car and then out of it and into the restaurant, I wasn’t worried about the snow/ice.
Carol says
Such wonderful family memories you are maki ng. I particularly loved the ice skating pics…what
a thrill for Ashby!!
Your family always seems so perfect….can you share why 3 of them were crying Wednesday morning …I can’t even picture your children crying or being unhappy… (which I know is unrealistic..)
Mix and Match Mama says
Hahahaha! All for different reasons. One of them wouldn’t get out of bed, and when they finally did, their breakfast was cold and I don’t reheat your breakfast if it’s because it took you 20 minutes to get out of bed. Said child cried.
Adrienne says
so wise to ring in the new year in a different time zone! seeing the ball drop at 10 pm – win win! ?
