When our family made the decision to go gluten-free, the first order of business was tweaking all of our favorite recipes…and Spaghetti & Meatballs were on the top of our list! These little oven meatballs cook up in no time and pair perfectly with our gluten-free pasta from Trader Joe’s. Easy as that! Enjoy! xo

Gluten-Free Spaghetti & Meatballs
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 4 to 6 1x
Description
This easy little spaghetti and meatball supper is so delish that the gluten will never be missed!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground beef (or turkey)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (we use gluten-free)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish
- ½ onion grated or finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic grated or finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- a big pinch of both salt and pepper
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
- 1 (28 oz) can San Marzano tomatoes
- about a pound of your favorite g-free pasta (we use Trader Joe’s)
- chopped parsley to garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly spray with Pam (for easy clean up!). Set aside.
- In one pot over medium-high heat, bring water to a boil for your pasta. Drop your pasta and cook to al dente. (You can do this now or wait and do it towards the end while your meatballs are baking.)
- To make your meatballs: in your mixing bowl, add in the first seven ingredients.
- Using a wooden spoon (or your hands!) mix all of your ingredients into small meatballs (I typically get about 20) and then place them on your prepared baking sheet. Drizzle a bit of EVOO down over the tops of each one.
- Pop your meatballs in the oven to bake about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, while your meatballs are baking, add your San Marzano tomatoes to a large pot or skillet with a drizzle of EVOO. As the tomatoes warm up, lightly press down and break them up with a spoon. Add in a pinch of salt and pepper. When your pasta is cooked to al dente, drain off all of the water and add it to your tomatoes.
- When your meatballs are done, remove them from oven and toss them with your pasta and tomato sauce too. You can sprinkle a little extra parm down over the top to finish things off along with some chopped parsley (or basil!).
Notes
If you make your meatballs small, they bake up in no time flat. Served with tomatoes, pasta and Parm and your family has a quick and delicious little supper!

Do you think these would work If I used one pound of ground turkey and one pound of ground pork? I’m trying to use up what I have in the deep freezer:)

Yes!!!

My daughter has an egg allergy. Do you have any suggestions for an egg substitute? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
For these meatballs, if you’re looking for another binder, you could omit (they really will stay together without the egg) or you could add a bit (maybe 2 teaspoons) of whatever flour your family loves.

Hi I have a question about going gluten. ? When you guys go out to a restaurant does everyone eat something that’s gluten free or just kensington? Also Has kensington been able to find gluten free options on kids menus at restaurants or has she been ordering off the adult menu?
Mix and Match Mama says
Andrew and I eat g-free with K at restaurants but the other three kids don’t specifically.

Is K able to find gluten free options on kids menus?
Mix and Match Mama says
Most of the time options like grilled chicken are available. She always makes it work off either menu!

Hi Shay! So happy you’re sharing your g-free recipes! They look fantastic and although we aren’t g-free, I do think it’s healthy to cut back on some of it. So I’m trying out your recipes too!!
Also, it would be great to get an update on K!! How long did it take her system to reset once cutting gluten? Does she feel like 1000% better? How is managing this at school for her? What kinds of lunches does she like to pack that are g-free? Does her middle school offer ways for her to eat g-free lunch at school or will she pack her lunches? Favorite snacks? How have the rest of y’all adjusted? Have you lost weight, more energy, better sleep? So many questions LOL.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes!! I’m doing an update on her very soon! We just got to the six month mark!
