Yesterday, Kensington Kate celebrated a few firsts…
It was her first time to decorate a gingerbread house. Andrew, Smith and I went to her pre-school Christmas party yesterday afternoon, then when we got home, Smith went down for a nap and Kensington and I went to town on our house.
Her favorite part was eating the candy decorations before we could stick them on our house.
This is a picture of our house in progress.
Then last night, it was her first time to wear (and sleep in) sponge rollers. Ahhh…I probably slept in pink sponge rollers for 15 years in a row. (Seriously) My mama loved to sponge roll my hair. I was tempted to add a few to my hair last night but refrained. K was so excited. She sat really still while I was rolling her hair, then she didn’t touch or bother them all night. She kept saying she was going to wake up with curly hair like mommy :).
This morning, her hair looked BEAUTIFUL! I told her she looked like Princess Belle (the ultimate compliment in our house), so of course, she had to go get her Belle doll to compare. I asked her if she would pose for some pictures and she said yes, but only if we could take them in our purple bathroom (my guest bath is painted eggplant purple). Random, I know.
Aren’t her curls lovely?
Love you sweet pea!

I am having such a flash back right now. (lol) My mom put rollers in my hair for years as well when I was a kid! Did you ever use "dippity do?" Now that I am older I use hot rollers. Must have been my moms influence.
Anyway, she looks so cute and how good is she to keep them in all night at such a young age!

Kensington's hair is GORGEOUS. Just like Belle's. 🙂
I too wore sponge rollers for YEARS. Well into high school. The pink kind. I was SO COOL.

Oh yes, I wore sponge rollers too. What about pin curls? I sported those MANY a night. Do you know what those are?
