My sweet friend Sheaffer reminded me yesterday at lunch that I was indebted to her for all of her wonderful advice. She said she was “batting 1.000” with me. It sounds kind of cocky but I have to admit…it is so true. Lately, Sheaffer has been on a roll with wonderful advice on things to purchase and places to eat. Since today is Miss Sheaffer’s birthday, I thought I’d honor her with her four best recommendations. Ironically, two have to do with hair and two have to do with food.
A TIGI devotee for years, Sheaffer recommended that I start using Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner on my hair. Let me tell you…LIFE CHANGING. I love it. LOVE IT!
Sheaffer also insisted recommended I buy a new Chi Hair dryer. (What I really mean is that she drove to my house, told me to buy one that very day, insisted I call her when I bought it, then insisted I call her after I used it to tell her how smart she was for recommending it to me.) Let me just tell you, I bought it, I used it, I called her and thanked her for sharing such a wonderful secret with me. Who knew the King of flat irons could make such a fantastic hair dryer. The best part is that it has cut my drying time in half. It’s not a cheap dryer but well worth the investment (and right now at Ulta, they’re on sale).
Now, Sheaffer didn’t introduce me to Nothing Bundt Cakes (I’ve been visiting them for years) but she did turn me on to ordering the petite little bundlets for a nice afternoon treat. If you haven’t tried one before, I highly recommend the lemon. So yummy! Andrew’s favorite is the red velvet bundtlet and Sheaffer’s is the cinnamon swirl. Honestly, you can’t go wrong.
And finally, one day Sheaffer called me insisting that she had just eaten the best piece of coconut cream pie EVER. She went on and on and on about it. She said we were going the next day so I could try some too. I mean, I love coconut cream pie but the best? I was doubtful. And I was wrong. Spoons diner in downtown McKinney makes the absolute BEST coconut cream pie EVER. EVER! I love it. Sheaffer was soooo right.
Needless to say, if you see pictures of me in the future with amazing hair and an extra 20 pounds, I have my good friend Sheaffer to thank.
Happy Birthday girl! What would I do without your wisdom?

Cute post! I had to comment on the hair dryer though… I think I've told you before that I use a Babyliss flat iron and that they are BETTER than the Chi. So if that Chi blow dryer ever goes out on you, I'll give you a recommendation for the Babyliss blow dryer I use. It.Is.Awesome.
Don't you love having friends with all sorts of advice?

Shay…my birthday is thursday and I need some product recommendations…what would your friend say I can not live without?

Wow. I sound like the go to girl for all important decisions concerning desserts and hair care. (If you are interested, I can also tell you the best places for salsa, queso, and chips…although sadly they are all at different places.)
I would also like to comment that in addition to sounding extremely knowledgable about many important matters, I also sound a little bossy. That comes with old age you know!
Thanks for the post! It was a great way to start off my day! 🙂

A couple things to say…1. I hope you remember that my birthday is August 2nd. I'm expecting a post devoted all to me!! 2. Do NOT devote that post all about how CHEAP you think I am. Not cheap…smart with my money! ha! 🙂

Augh! If only I had seen this post when I was in AMERICA (aka the land of convenience and 120 voltage) I would have had the best hair ever! But I didn't need the sweets recommendation. I gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks as it was… 🙁
