Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars take the original recipe to a whole new level. My hubby was madly in love with the first version but cannot get enough of the new chocolaty one. My grandpa doesn’t even like chocolate and I saw him eat two in one sitting…I’m just saying…chocolate is a girl’s best friend.

1 box chocolate cake mix
4 eggs
1 stick melted butter
1 box powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
1 (8 oz) cream cheese (at room temperature)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish (I always use Pam)
In one bowl, combine one box of any chocolate cake mix, two eggs and 1 stick of melted butter.
Spread mixture into prepared dish (this will be your “crust” on the bottom).
In a separate bowl, mix with a hand mixer, one box of powdered sugar, cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs and cocoa powder until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread on top of crust mixture.
Bake 38-40 minutes.
Cool on counter 30 minutes, then cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 2 days. Cut and serve.

Is there any way of making the Neiman Marcus bars without using packaged cake mix? They look great. i have just joined this sight so it is something new to try.
I live in Australia so some wording is a little different.
Thank you

I want to try this bar, but the only choc chips I have on hand are the mint ones. Think that would be a yummy substitution??

This was fantastic with the mint choc chips! It smelled so good we could barely wait for the "cool 30 min" to be over. We prefer them warm! My daughter wants me to make these again with raspberry choc chips. 🙂 Thanks!
