What’s Valentine’s Day without a little conversation? I couldn’t decide what color to make the cakes, so I made three different colors. You pick your favorite or leave it all white…as long as there is some conversation…it’s gonna be a great Valentine’s Day.

1 box white cake mix
3 eggs
1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
2 tablespoons almond extract, divided
1 can white frosting
food coloring, optional
conversation heart candy
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium size bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, butter, oil and water with electric mixer. Stir in one tablespoon almond extract and food coloring until desired color is reached.
Pour into greased cupcake or mini bundt cake pans and bake 18-20 minutes. Remove from oven when toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Let cakes rest in pan 10 minutes before removing to wire racks to finish cooling.
To make frosting, stir remaining one tablespoon of extract into canned frosting. Spread frosting on cooled cakes and top with candy conversation hearts.
