Wow! Friday, Saturday and Sunday we did something Christmas-y. It’s been a fun and busy time! Let’s see…
On Friday night, we ate great Mexican food and then went to Frisco’s Town Square for lights to music and fake “snow”.
It’s “snowing” on her. She loved it!
This girl loves to wear those earmuffs!
Dancing to the music!
On Saturday, we did a lot…but I only managed to get this one picture of them eating Christmas thumbprint cookies. Love my kiddos!
Then on Sunday, we finally let Kensington ice skate. She has been asking to skate for about two years. She talks about it all the time…so this was her big opportunity.
Sweet little skates.
Ready to go!
Again…the earmuffs.
She liked walking around on the carpeted area in her skates.
About to go out!
Scared.to.death.
She gripped the rail the whole time. She was not enjoying her skating. Apparently, it’s harder on ice than she thought.
This is Kensington skating. Andrew was out there with her (we didn’t just throw her out there by herself!).
When it was all said and done, she said she thought she would be a better skater when she turns 6. I guess we’ll try again in two more years. 🙂

Your kids are seriously the cutest! Love your turquoise necklace. Is it a recent purchase?

Just wanted to say thanks for telling me where you got your coat and scarf you were wearing in the photos on your blog yesterday. It is so sweet of you to share that information. You are always dressed so cute. I love the necklace and the plaid shirt you are wearing in the photos you posted today! 🙂

Poor Kensington! Looks like it's gonna be a while until she nails that triple axle…
(Love her Union Jack, btw. Way to represent our adopted country!)

Didn't they have a little "walker" contraption for her to hold onto? Maybe they don't give them out during a big open skate. Sometimes hockey skates work better on little kids because the blade is built a little sturdier than figure skates. At any rate, she looked darling! 🙂
I found snow in a can at the $ Tree. You open it up and add water and stir with the little shovel. I bet your kids would love it!

Next time K skates, try a learn to skate for little ones. They start with butts ON the ice and learn to get up- takes the mystery out of falling (snow pants are a good idea, too). I had 4 kids learn to skate that way… no fear.

Your kids are just so sweet! My family is coming to visit next week and I was going to take my niece ice-skating. She is the same age as Kensington…maybe I should wait another two years! 🙂 God Bless you and your beautiful family!

Lots of fun holiday family times! I cannot wait till I can get skates on my kids feet. (I suppose they should both be able to walk first …) I agree with the other commenters about the little PVC "walker" thing (or even little chairs) and Learn to Skate classes.
