Merry Christmas! I hope your day is filled with the love and warmth of family and friends. I hope your day is filled with lots of twinkle lights, Bing Crosby music and yummy food. But most of all…I wish your day, and your life, is filled with the love of Jesus Christ. He was born to save the world from its sins…to give us hope, peace, joy and happiness. If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior…if you want to know how to have a life full of the promises he gives, please let me know. Email me at mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com or leave me a comment. I would love to share my faith with you. This day is so special… just don’t forget…the reason we celebrate is not for Santa and reindeers…not for elves and Frosty…it’s because the greatest blessing the world has ever known was born on this day.
Merry Christmas!

I want to know how to live a life of faith. I have three young kids and we believe…mostly. We just can't seem to get to living our life with Jesus so any faith sharing would be appreciated 🙂

Hi Anonymous!
I think it's great that you are trying to get your family faith centered. First, I think you should find a church for you all to attend. Find a lively church with other families your age. Baptist churches are especially great but any Bible teaching, Protestant church will work. Make sure they have great children's programs for kids your age. Check out my church online at http://www.firstmckinney.com to watch live sermons…this might inspire you to find a church similar in your area. Being around other families is so important. I also suggest getting a Bible (like the New Living Translation) that's easy to read…and read it every day! Start with the book of John and read one chapter a day. Read it and pray to the Lord about how the scripture can affect you. Talk to God…start a conversation. Please keep commenting me and let me know how it's going. I'll be praying for your family! Merry Christmas!

Thanks!! I'm your opinion what is the main difference between Catholics and baptists?
Mix and Match Mama says
Hi Anonymous #2! I don't get caught up in the whole Baptist/Catholic/Methodist…label thing. The most important thing is having a relationship with Christ and believing in the Bible. I find myself enjoying Baptist sermons and music more…so that's why I attend that church. It's not about "religion" or "denomination", it's about faith. Faith in Jesus.

Shay, this is awesome. It is bold to share one's faith explicitly, and I admire you for it. Merry Christmas and a happy new year too!

Hi Shay,
I was the first anonymous that posted – I just got the NLT bible that you recommended…I was wondering why you recommended starting with the book of John? It seems to be in the middle of the bible. Thank you for your guidance…
Mix and Match Mama says
The Bible is not in chronological order, so you don't have to worry about that. I recommend the book of John as a starting point because it does a great job of summarizing Christ in one book. If you're unfamiliar with Christ and with the Bible, John will explain a lot. It's just a really good jumping off point.

I use to check your blog often…but then lost the blog address. I somehow just stumbled upon it recently. I love this post…and I love that you're pointing others towards Christ!
My husband and I are Christians….we haven't always been. We both led a life of sin until not too long ago. We were engaged (and living t/g with our 2 year old daughter). We wanted to get married GOD's way. So I moved out for a period of time (with our daughter) during our engagement. Our friends thought we were crazy. We live in NY so living t/g before marriage is the norm. We went through marriage counseling and then were married in our church! It was awesome…esp knowing we did it God's way!
I know when we were living t/g unmarried with a child I felt trapped b/t wanting to be a family, getting married in a church, living in sin…etc..but there is a way out! Christ! Something we learned just recently is that God would never let you live in sin without giving you a way out!
(your kids are beautiful btw! 🙂
