This Friday is extra fabulous because we get a 3 day weekend! I am so excited to spend my three days with my family, around good food and near the pool. I am so thankful for the service men and women who have given their lives to make our country free…I give thanks for them every day. I also want to thank the active military for protecting us right now and for their families that send them off and hold down the fort at home. God bless them today and every day!
Ok…some fabulous things from this week…
Catherine texted me this picture…she bought this light-up headband for Kensington. Kensington will want to wear it every.single.day. I don’t think that’s fabulous but Kensington sure will! 🙂
Starbucks has a new Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappaccino out…and it’s pretty spectacular! I get it “light” without the whip (but I keep the “crunch” on top)…and it’s really, really good! I might have had 4 this week. Maybe.
While swimming last Saturday at my parents’ house, Smith pulled his raft out of the pool, took his towel and said he was going to lie down, relax and take a nap. Which he did…for two hours until we woke him up for dinner. Now…that three year old boy can be a hot mess! He threw a nasty tantrum on Wednesday…he’s no angel all the time…but, that kid can sleep like no other. Forget swimming, he had a nap to take! I think that’s fabulous!
I usually wear a bronzer and blush on my cheeks…but I read a lot of great reviews about this Laura Geller product that combined both the bronzer and blush together. Since I like to pair down as much of my makeup as I can during the hot/humid months of summer, I thought I should check it out. Wow! I am hooked now! It gives me this great color that isn’t too heavy, too bronzy or too much blush. It’s really perfect and I bet I end up using it year around. I love it!
And yes, I’m still using my Nars Multiple in Orgasm. I use it a lot as an eye shadow this time of year or dab it on top of my cheekbones when my makeup is starting to look a little dull (half-way during the day). It really is my go-to for a quick pick me up!
Kensington’s teachers gave me this photo. Is this my child or what?!?! Fabulous!
It’s that time of year when I have to apply a ton of sunscreen every time I step outside. I totally despise sunscreen…but it’s a necessity. I started using this new Neutrogena Beach Defense spray for myself (not my kiddos) and it has been great! It’s not sticky, it doesn’t have a strong smell, and most importantly, it works!
Kensington was busy with the tape and markers the other day…and then I went to her room and saw this sign on her door. I asked her what it meant and she said, “no little brothers allowed”. Perfect. I should have had that sign when I was growing up…
I’m totally into these crocheted Toms (they come in a bunch of fun colors). I can count 4 friends off the top of my head that have them…and look stinkin’ adorable in them! A comfy Tom is the perfect way to kick off the summer.
(If you checked the blog early Friday morning, you saw a red Tom on there…well, it sold out! That tells me, you need to check out these Crocheted Toms before they do too!)

I love the photo of Smith on his raft! With a goldfish crack and juice. Too sweet. And Kensington's sign! Hope you have a great long weekend!

I love that Smith just knocked out like that ~ and the juice box & cracker are hilarious!! I'm with you on the needing sunscreen. My friends laugh because it can be overcast and cloudy and I can get burnt! Will have to look for that sunscreen!! Kensington's sign is classic ~ ha!! Hope your family filled weekend is full of fun and memories made! =)

My 4 yr old daughter handed me a tiara from Chuck E Cheese along with her brush one morning before church. She added her homemade Christmas penguin necklace, too. She's the third, so why not let her accessorize the way she wants, right? She would truly enjoy K's company!

What I would give to be able to take a nap anytime, anywhere!! That's awesome!!! I think Smith has things figured out!! 🙂
And I read a review for that bronzer / blush just the other day and have been wanting to try it as well!
Oh, and I'm hosting a "Five on Friday" (5 things you're loving or really just any 5 things) with a handful of other great, super sweet bloggers!! Would love for you to join us today to link-up!

That photo of Smith is awesome! He is a boy after my own heart because I love my sleep. I'm off to check out those Toms because I want to buy my first pair (yes, ever!) for summer.

Hi Shay! Again, love your blog! Your kiddos are adorable. They remind me so much of my kiddos. My daughter is 5 and son is 4. Love having them close together, They are such great friends already.
I was wondering what suncreen you use on the kids? I am always looking for new better products.

Love that new caramel crunch at Starbucks! It's my favorite now!

Right now, I use Neutrogena Kids on my kiddos. It seems to work the best!

Love Laura Gellar baked blushes! Her highlighters are also a fav of mine right now.
My mouth drops in awe of a child who will nap anywhere. I couldn't get my kids to nap ANYWHERE, ever. Lucky mommy!

Thanks for the makeup suggestions. I'm going to buy makeup today so these were timely. And that drink…whoa. I might have to swing by Starbucks.

I commented yesterday for the first time, but forgot to tell you that I just started reading your blog a couple weeks ago. I absolutely love it! I live in Boston, so it doesn't hurt that you love the city also. I received the Laura Gellar blush/bronzer in my Birchbox last year and it's still going strong. It's a great product that lasts!

Thanks for the frappacino tip … I'll have to try that!
And Kensington is such a gorgeous little girl!!!

I love that headband!! That is adorable! I also love the crocheted Toms… I have wanted them for ages, maybe it's time to give in. 🙂 Last but not least–I'm going to a wedding in June and want to try out a bright lipstick, maybe red? I don't normally wear lipstick but I think it would be a fun occasion to try it out… any recommendations as to brands or shades? Or how to pull it off if I've never worn lipstick?! Haha any advice is greatly appreciated.

And that picture of Smith sleeping at the pool with his juice box and goldfish cracker is precious! I also love Kensington's "no little brothers allowed" sign! I could've used one of those when I was growing up! She's adorable!

Okay…I have no idea how this happened, but this is the first time I'm seeing this post and I love so much about it. That blush/bronzer combo looks AMAZING! We must all run out and get as soon as possible. I love (and maybe hate a little) that Smith is such a good sleeper, and I think it is so sweet that K wants to be a jewelry girl just like her mama!
