I’m not going to lie…I might have gotten a little emotional this week about my babies growing up. This next school year is my last year to have them home with me. After that, Kensington will go off to school and then Smith will follow the very next year. Just like that, they’ll be gone. I enjoy this life so much…I enjoy sitting out in the backyard having picnics, going for walks, waiting for the ice cream truck, coloring, playing games…the whole thing. So…I have to make the most of these days. I have to soak them all in. I know the next chapter will be fun and exciting in ways I can’t even imagine…but for now, I will hold tight to the memories of these everydays.
Day 120: When I picked up the kids from preschool, I surprised them with new sunglasses. I know they don’t look thrilled, but trust me…they were!
Day 121: playing with sidewalk chalk
Day 122: That day in May when I had to wear a jacket and scarf…and I was still cold. Crazy!
Day 123: My sweet hubby took me to the Red Sox game and even wore a Sox shirt…because he loves me so much (and kind of felt sorry for me and the fact that my dad couldn’t make it). I just love this Yankee!
Day 124: The day Smith has waited for this entire year…the day he could see Iron Man 3. He loved it!
Day 125: My sweet cousin Brandon took me to the Sox game on this day (I have such sweet men in my life!).
Day 126: My love

That picture of Smith in front of the Iron Man 3 poster is awesome! Love it! 🙂

Enjoy it because once they hit school, time just flies! I swear it seems like my oldest started Kindergarten yesterday, and she just turned 11 last month! I tell them all the time to stop growing, and they laugh and say "We can't, Mom!" I wish we could freeze time! :/ Thank you for sharing your family…I really enjoy your blogs.

Looks like you had a great week! My MN Twins are playing your Sox in Boston tonight! 🙂

Your first paragraph is exactly what I was thinking this week. My twins have just a couple more days of preschool left this year — and then just 2 more years at home with me. And I got a lump in my throat just thinking about it. I just want to stop time! Your kids are so stinkin' cute btw 🙂

Oh gosh, my son is going to be a senior in high school next year! Totally freaking out here. It literally seemed like yesterday that he was the age of Smith. It looks like you do a great job of enjoying every moment with your kids though.

I love how you really cherish the little things (which really are big!) with your babies!! Passing time truly is so bittersweet ~ its fun to watch them grow up and become the person God created them to be but oh how I miss them being little!!

Shay, you are such a wonderful Mom! I know your two kiddos will cherish these memories. As an almost college graduate (this Saturday!), I truly cherish the time I have had with my family. My favorite memories are the family trips we have taken together. There's nothing like family bonding when you're all cooped up in a hotel room in foreign countries. So while it is sad to think your little ones are growing up, there are plenty of great memories to be made! I enjoy each and every day I get to spend with my Mom, Dad, and younger brother! Thanks for sharing your "every day" with your blog readers!

Sweet pics — the great thing about school tho, is they get out before 3. So still lots of cuddle/play time!

My oldest child started kindergarten this year, and I was sooooo sad about it last summer. My mom kept telling me, "Children don't go away when they start school! You will still have him!" She was so right. I've loved watching my little man grow this year! It melts my heart when I drop him off at school in the morning, and he yells, "Bye, Mom, I love you!" in front of all of his friends :). It's been fun watching him learn to read and write, hearing about his experiences in school, eating lunch with him in his school cafeteria, and going on field trips with his class. Starting school is a new chapter, but it's a wonderful new chapter! You will love it, too, Mama!

Oh girl. Landon starts Kindergarten in August and then Grant starts the year after that. I'll be happy to have them at school with me, but that just means they're one year further away from being babies. Dangit. You know what'll get me?! When they start losing their teeth. I'm pretty sure I'll be a weepy mess 🙂 Enjoy every minute with your cuties!!

My little boy is also 3 years old, January 20th, and he is dying to see IM3. What are your thoughts?
I have read a lot of reviews that say not suitable for ages younger than 12-13, so I was wondering if you had any feedback on the movie.

I'm new to reading your blog and wanted you to know that I love it! Very down to earth and inspirational. And I also love the recipes.
Being from Boston, I'm just curious where your love from the Red Sox comes from!
