On the 10th Day of Christmas, I made the easiest Chocolate Pecan Pie!
Are you pie people? Around the holidays, we are really pie people! My family almost always has a pumpkin pie, a chocolate pie and a pecan pie at every holiday gathering…so this year, I decided to change things up a bit and make a Chocolate Pecan Pie instead. My family went nuts! They love, love, loved it! Out of all of the desserts, it was the first to go. And the best news? It is such a simple recipe!
Shopping List
1 uncooked pie crust (or you could make it homemade)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups finely chopped pecans
1/2 cup pecan halves
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Fit a 9″ pie plate with your crust. (I use a basic refrigerated Pillsbury Pie Crust that has been brought to room temperature…but you could totally make your own if you like. I like to keep things simple.) Set aside.
In a small bowl, microwave butter and chocolate chips until smooth, stirring every 30 seconds.
In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla and salt. Stir in chopped pecans and butter mixture. Pour into pie shell and then arrange pie halves over filling.
Bake 55 to 65 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack and then refrigerate until you’re ready to serve.
I found this recipe in one of my Taste of Home magazines and tweaked it just a bit. I love how you don’t have to boil the filling…just mix it and pour. Simple and delicious!!
I hope you’re having a festive weekend full of yummy food and good company!

YUM! I will have to try this for my hubby! He loves pecan pie and chocolate! I usually just add chocolate ships or chunks to his pecan pies, but I think he'd flip over this recipe with the chips melted in!!! Might have to make it today! Ha! xoxo!
