Hello Thursday.
After I did the post about my new little office, I had many mamas email me about working from home.
My little home office :).
I did a Shade of Shay on Working from Home last year and it still applies this year too. To read it, click here.
I know many of you would like to work from home but you have no idea how or where to start…so, if you’re out there reading this and you have suggestions for these mamas…please leave it in the comment section below!
Maybe you sell a product and need other people to sell it to? Maybe you work for a great company and they hire stay at home mamas…whatever it may be, I thought it would be fun to try and connect some mamas with jobs that allow them to stay home.
And one last thing…
…this is my Lemon Berry Cobbler…yum!
Have a great day everyone!
And now I’m off…to do some work.

I am about to be a 1st time mom, and I sell AdvoCare, high quality supplements and vitamins. I started using the products to get healthier, and signed up to be a distributor for the 20% discount. What I didn't know at the time was how incredible the income potential is! Now I make more money with AdvoCare than most people do working in a regular job…and you don't have to be a "salesperson". If other moms want to join my team, have them email me at nikkijunepeters@gmail.com to learn more.
Click my blog to see how the products work!

Hi Shay! Love your blog and positive attitude! I recently quit my teaching job to have more time at home with my 3 kids and am slowly building a business that I can do from home. I am a rep for Wildtree, an all natural food company and a wellness advocate for doTERRA, an essential oil company. Both companies are looking for more direct sales reps. http://www.mywildtree.com/dawngrimes & http://www.mydoterra.com/dawngrimes. I also started a blog, http://www.namasteneighbor.com and am getting certified from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute to teach wellness classes online. Lots of ideas there for your readers 🙂 I am trying to focus on what my passions are and figure it out from there! I think it's easier than ever to work from home!

I am a SAHM, and just recently started selling La Senorita Jolie, which is a fairly new casual wear line sold at home parties based out of Charlotte, NC and I love it! You can work as little or as much as you want, and there is NO PRESSURE to recruit others or hit certain numbers. I started selling it simply because I love the clothes, and I have been so happy doing it. I have been approached a hundred different times to sell a hundred different things, and I always said no. But, I actually sought LSJ out myself. If anyone wants more info, you can email me at ashleykirby81 at gmail. 🙂

Shay – love your office!
I actually have two jobs that still allow me to stay home with my littles.
I teach Jazzercise which is mostly for fun and a good workout, but does provide some fun money.
AND, I'm an ambassador for Plexus – a natural health and wellness supplement company. It's a great gig because I get to work it around my schedule and I get to make money just by sharing the products and helping other people. I've only been doing it for 4 months and I've already ranked up and am contributing a fair amount to our family. So far, I've gotten a raise every month (doubling on average). With no obligation to host parties or carry inventory, it's the perfect low risk opportunity. I'm an introvert who is not good at sales at all and I'm still able to be successful with this. If you're interested, check out this link: http://accidentalsahm.myplexusproducts.com/opportunity – my ID#228343. This company is exploding with growth and you could be a part of it! I would love to have you join my amazing and super-helpful team! 🙂

Thank you Shay for this post! If any of you mama's out there are creative. I've been selling on Etsy since 2008. I made a felt and fabric Birthday banner for my oldest son when he turned 1 (8 years ago!) So that he would have something to hang every year that represented so many magical memories. After a few friends requested them for their own children, my business was born. I sell on http://www.shopthefeltmarket.etsy.com If you are interested in selling your own creations on etsy and have any questions- please don't hesitate to ask me. Its truly a full time business so I work when my kids are asleep 🙂

What a great post! I recently started selling Jamberry Nail Wraps and am new to this whole world, lol. Well my situation is unique. I haven't decided it I'm a SAHM or if I take my kids to work with me. We own a 2 story 100 year old building in the "business district" of our 1800 person town. We own and operate a floorcovering store(love your leopard rug! Who is it by?) on the street level and live upstairs! I have been blessed that my now 12 and 10 year olds have never had to go to daycare, I don't have to worry about an angry boss if my kids are sick, I get them off to school, I pick them up. I have a baby monitor under a carpet display by the front door that has a cow bell on it and when we are doing laundry or homework or watching The Wonder Pets back in the day, I can hear a customer come in and go to work. I could go on and on.
The Rimke Chronicles says
I work for a scrapbook company owned by some friends, so I am able to pick up work I package at home, and they pick it from on the way to their office. I also know that our church would need help making the bulletins, which you could do from home on your computer. It's so hard to find jobs these days, but I think if I were out of town, I would make a local mom blog, as I've wor for one before.

I too am a Work From Home Mama and a absolutely love what I do with Usborne children's books. After teaching for 12 years I want to stay home with my babies but still needed an "outlet" to the real world. I found an incredible opportunity that is available to anyone through Usborne. http://u3557.myubam.com/Join
We also have an Educational Division where we sell to school and do library orders, and also can choose to do book fairs on top of the typical home shows. You choose the avenue that you want to pursue. The bulk of my work is done at home unless I have a small preschool book fair going on. I absolutely love it! They have quick potential for growth and an amazing opportunity for career level income. If you love children's books, want to help promote literacy in your community then I would love to talk with you and tell you more. We have consultants all around the country and are looking for more! You truly DO NOT have to be a salesperson because the books sell themselves! Usborne has received Children's Publisher of the Year for many years and truly does everything top notch! It is a great time to become a consultant because until July 31st we are offering your full consultant kit for only $69. That includes $370 worth of children's books for your display as well as business supplies and your website. (http://u3557.myubam.com/Join/NewConsultantKit) The best part…there are no quotas and no monthly minimums. This is truly a business that you can make your own but aren't pressure to sell. Some just do it for the discount and great books for their kids. And that's okay too! Visit my website for more information at http://www.myusbornereader.com or email me at jrcollins (at) me (dot com). 🙂

I've been blogging for a while, but just recently decided to see if I could turn my "hobby" into some sort of revenue stream. We just need to get creative, think outside the box, and GO FOR IT! 🙂

I loved reading everyone's comments! Im not a SAHM yet, but I hope to when we start our family. My SIL sells DoTerra essential oils (SHOUT OUT DAWN!) and she is extremely successful doing that. I use the oils, but haven't started selling yet, but I do love them and I've heard numerous stories of how it has helped people (even with serious diseases!) I'm hoping to possibly teach piano lessons from my home and possibly add something else if time permits. I wish there was something out there that didn't require selling tho bc this introvert is no saleswoman! lol Still, great ideas out there. 🙂

I am loving all the people who have commented they are also consultants for Rodan + Fields! That is the work-from-home route I went too so I could be at home with my 2.5yr old and 11 month old. I chose this company because it's younger comparatively in the direct sales field but growing SO fast! We are about to go international too so now is the time to jump the bandwagon and start selling! I also chose R+F because it's clinical skincare created by the same dermatologists that created ProActiv – basically R+F is doing for the anti aging market what they did for acne. I also love the fact that since everyone has skin, everyone is a prospective buyer! I've been overwhelmed with the response to this product and how it's helped their skin woes. It is not a "home parties" company and you don't stock inventory, you set your own hours and goals and the training they have available to you is amazing. Anyways, I'll stop rambling! If you are interested in learning more I am looking for others to join my team too! Email me at mnmattingly@gmail.com for more info (or even if you are just interested in products and not selling – I'd love to discuss your skin concerns too and how we can help). SHAY – I love all your Shades of Shay! I look forward to them every week!

Hi Shay! Thanks for this post! It is always so nice to help out fellow moms. I have been selling Plexus since March. Along with being a mom to my two sweet boys (ages 6 & 3). As a woman living with an auto-immune disease, Plexus and its all natural supplements have done so much for my health. I am very thankful that God brought the products into my life when He did! I joined as an ambassador to get the wholesale prices, but my little side business took off after I told a few people! If anyone out there is "tired of being tired" and just interested in learning more about Plexus Slim, either email me at shawnabeucler@gmail.com, or check out the amazing products at http://www.plexusslim.com/shawnabeucler.
On another note . . . I spent the morning at the Nordstrom at Northpark enjoying the sale! WOW!
Can't wait to hear more about your time with Paula. Love her!

Love this! When I first began reading your blog (Sean's season) I was a first grade teacher. I was inspired that you worked from home, shared the same desire to be able to have job and raise my babies, but was uncertain I would ever find something I could do from home and passionate about.
Fast forward to last summer, and I began my journey to becoming healthier and more fit for myself and my family. I found products that worked and a community that encouraged. It blew me away. When the opportunity presented itself to me, I was in full force.
I've been a Beachbody coach for a year now and have gotten to stay home with my boys and do something I'm passionate about, helping others. I have also replaced my old full time income working less than part time hours. I am always looking to help other moms "retire" and be home with their babies. I'd love to chat with anyone interested in this opportunity.

Sometimes I struggle with isolation since I am a solo designer, but I am trying to incorporate more lunch dates into my week. I also workout daily so I have a hard time getting to my desk before 11am. I guess I need to join the Shay 4:30am club! I am starting a new stationery company soon, so hopefully I will have products to sell and my income can become residual instead of working by the hour! LOVE your blog!

What a timely post! I just sent in my resignation letter as a teacher to stay at home with my two young kiddos who are 18 months apart (I loved your Shade of Shay about two young kids)! I also just became a consultant for Jamberry Nails like some other ladies here.
What an awesome experience it has been so far! I never ever thought I would/could be a salesperson but the product basically sells itself. That's how I got hooked, after trying a sample nail wrap! Just one! Minimal investment and a really high rate of return makes me super excited to be a part of the team! But, I appreciate you mentioning that just because we're at home we don't need to check on work related stuff all the time. I am working on finding a balance right now. Hi Shay! I work full time as a nurse which entails 2 week days plus weekend days here and there. To supplement our income, I have opened up an etsy shop where I make and sell wreaths! I started 2 years ago when I was pregnant with our 2nd and it was a huge blessing to our family. I have recently started back up after taking the last year off of 'wreathin. My advice is if you are crafty and really enjoy making things, go for it! I never dreamed I would be even slightly successful, but it has been such an incredible experience! It takes time to grow your business, but you honestly never know what will come out of it until you go for it. I am in the Dallas area if anyone wants a cute wreath for their door!
