Every fall, we take our kids to a pumpkin patch for some good old fashioned fall fun! This is one of our very favorite traditions!
Now…this year, Kensington’s class is going on an all day field trip to our favorite pumpkin patch that’s out in the country, so…since we’re going to be spending an entire day out there, we decided to visit another “patch” that’s about a mile from our house instead as a family. (Smith won’t be able to go on her field trip because he’ll be in school, only Andrew and I will be there). This pumpkin patch by my house doesn’t really grow pumpkins and is not nearly as spectacular as the other…but they do offer pony rides and for that, my kids think it’s the greatest patch in the world :).
I was getting ready to go on Saturday morning when Kensington came in from grocery shopping with Andrew and she just looked so grown up! Where did my little girl go?!?! (Insert me sobbing here!)
Woohoo! We made it to the pumpkin patch! Both kids wanted to wear their boots since they knew they would be “riding horses”.
We checked out the pumpkins right off the bat!
Each child is able to select one little pumpkin to take home (here they are making their selection).
This giant pumpkin sits near the road and every single day when we drive by (we drive by often since it’s located right by our house), the kids say they want to see inside…so here they are…peering inside.
Posing by the big pumpkin!
My love (even in that Yankee hat, I still manage to love him!).
They were so excited to ride their horses :).
After the pony rides, they went through the hay maze.
And then they slid!
There goes Smith!
After the sliding, they jumped in the bounce house.
And then they went to the petting zoo portion of the pumpkin patch. Smith enjoys petting…
…but Kensington gets right in their face. She loves being close to animals.
Having a seat and doing some lovin’.
After the pumpkin patch, we came home and watched K-State beat OU on the patio! Woohoo! Such a fun football day for us Wildcat fans!
And then we met my family in my parents’ town, did some shopping and then had dinner at my parents’ house. Me and my (distressed denim) peeps :).
The pumpkin patch is an annual tradition for us! Click below to see other visits…
And don’t forget, it’s Meal Planning Monday today! Five yummy suppers for your busy week plus some fun dessert options to make your week a little more festive!
One more quick thing, over the weekend, I posted these two things on Facebook and everyone seems to love them both!
First, slow cookers and other small appliances are 55% off at Williams-Sonoma right now. Plus, there is free shipping!! I did some Christmas shopping yesterday for my family!!!
And a reader named Melissa found these two new scarves on Saturday morning and told me about them. I, of course, ordered them both! Eeks!! Love, love, love them!
See the plaid one here and the houndstooth one here.
XOXO

How fall-fabulous! We have nothing like that here in Australia (not pumpkin patches, even in our Autumn).
It looks like Kensington will grow up to be a veterinarian, what a great role for your caring sweet girl.
God bless!

Our family loves going to visit pumpkin patches! Out of all the pumpkin patches we have visited in DFW area our favorite is Mainstay Farm in Cleburne area. It is an actual farm with tons of activities for children of all ages. They operate with Christian values in mind and give 20% of Pumpkin Days gate proceeds to a youth ministry organization.

Get excited! Holiday scents are back in stock at B&BW 🙂 I'm so pumped to stock back up on Vanilla Bean Noel. I finished my last bottle of lotion of Vanilla Bean Noel 2 months ago and I was going through withdrawals haha… Thanks for sharing about this scent last year 🙂
