Thanks to my Monthly Goals, I’ve been reading so much more lately…and I love it! I know we’re only halfway through the month, but I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been reading lately. This time of year is the best time to curl up by the fire with coffee and read (or as I do…sit in the carpool line and read). Whichever you do, enjoy it :).
Three Wishes was my first Liane Moriarty book to read but now that I’ve read this one, I’ve already bought another one (Big Little Lies). If you like to read Sophie Kinsella, Emily Giffin or Jennifer Weiner, you’ll like this book. It’s lighthearted, easy to read and perfect if you just want a little entertainment without a whole lot of depth. It’s really clever and made me laugh out loud several times.
Oh my goodness! Forever Mom is such a good book! If you have adopted, are in the process of adopting or are thinking about adoption, this is a book you should read. I have read about 10 adoption books over the last 2 years and this one was hands down my very favorite. The author has 4 biological kids and then adopted six others…she knows what she’s talking about. I felt like she said everything all of the other books said but in a really relatable, easy to read voice. I wish I knew who recommended this book to me because I am forever grateful. So good. So, so, so good!
And because I find Andy Cohen so endearing, I’m in the middle of reading The Andy Cohen Diaries. If you love Andy Cohen (the genius behind Bravo TV), then you should read this. It’s funny, charming, full of humor and love…such a good read.
Well, that’s about it. What are you reading this month? I have five other books on my nightstand to read at the end of this month and in December. I’m always open to other suggestions too!
Don’t forget my foodie blog today…it’s my Thanksgiving Parade Breakfast! You totally need something yummy to eat while watching the parade!
XOXO

This month ( and October too) I finished reading a book called Night. It was written by Elie Wiesel ( a survivor) and his life during the holocast. Yah it was very sad to hear what they did, I crude a couple times. The words are kind of fancy so I had to have a dictionary with me. All your books sound good and I plan on getting some in the near future. Thanks Shay!!!!!

Because of your recommendation I bought The Power of a Woman's Words for my Secret Sister at church. When it came in I started flipping through and I LOVE it…..and she will too!!! On the flip side, we were watching Andy Cohen last night and I commented, who in the world would read his book?? Guess you just never know! Made me smile early this morning:)

If you like Liane's book- I just finished reading all of them after discovering her and finding that I love her writing style – but her book, What Alice Forgot, is by far my favorite. The Husband's Secret would be runner up!

Recently while travelling for work one of my passengers had two books on his lap the entire trip, one was the Bible and the other was "Ragged Company" by Richard Wagamese. He said it was awesome about a bunch of homeless people that find a theatre to hang out in to keep warm, find a winnning lottery ticket and have to find someone with an address to claim it. I'm about to order it but thought it sounded like a book you might like.

I totally am going to download the Andy Cohen book. I think he's great.

After reading your goals the last few months, I have made it my goal to read more and made a rule to not use I-pads or phones on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Thanks for that! Its nice to read again! I have a book suggestion. Have you read "The Story"? Its the bible written as a novel. Its true to the bible but allows you to read about Jesus' life in a natural progression with no overlap and provides some summaries as well. It really brings the bible to life and its a great read!

I finished Three Wished over this weekend and started Big Little Lies. I've also read The Husband's Secret and What Alice Forgot. Erin – The Blue Eyed Bride – turned me on to her books, and I have LOVED every one of them. I'm also reading Smart Money Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze!

I love Liane Moriarty. I have read The Husband's Secret, The Last Anniversary and Big Little Lies. Next on my list is What Alice Forgot. I also read all of John Green's books this summer. Highly recommend if you like young adult books. On a more serious side, I've read a couple of Jojo Moyes books and they are excellent. Really enjoyed, The Girl you Left Behind.

Agree with the above suggestions on "What Alice Forgot" and "The Husband's Secret". So good! I also love anything by Elin Hildebrand. They always make me long for summer (especially in the winter) and make me want to visit Nantucket. I'm reading "The Cuckoo's Calling" right now. It's the same author as the Harry Potter books but it's written under a pen name. Also, the subject is totally different!

I'll have to grab a copy of Three Wishes! I've heard a bit about it!

Love Liane Moriarity! I flew through The Husband's Secret, Big Little Lies, What Alice Forgot, and Three Wishes. I have been stalled out on The Last Anniversary for a while now. It's by far my least favorite of hers. Hoping to finish it someday…. 🙂

You and Me Forever by Francis Chan! Best book I have ever read!

Love your description of Three Wishes. Just requested from the library. Seems like the perfect in-front-of-the-fire book.
Have you read Delicious! by Ruth Reichl? Since you love to cook and you clearly like fiction, I think you'll enjoy it.

I am an Emily Giffin fan and I have read all of her books. I finally finished The One and Only, which I had purchased in the summer. I think you had reviewed it a few months ago. I thought it was creepy and had a hard time to finish it. Keep your book reviews coming!

I only have one word…..WILD by Cheryl Strayed. And hurry. The movie comes out December 5th. Reese Witherspoon stars and produces. Btw..I am not an outdoorsy person and I don't like camping or backpacking. It is so much more to the book!! It is her journey in life. WOW!

Also – The Glass Castle. It will also be a movie in 2015 with Jennifer Lawrence producing and starring in. I don't normally read that kind of book. I am obsessed. I have gotten 10-12 different people to read. UNREAL.

Hooray for books! Nevermind that I have never heard of ANY of these authors, reading is ALWAYS a good thing!

I love Liane Moriarty! I've currently got The Anniversay Wish on my Kindle app, but haven't read it yet. I also really liked Andy's book. Funny. Lighthearted. I didn't read his first, but now I want to.
