Ho! Ho! Ho!
Forgive me…I’m in the Christmas spirit today! Tis the season for Andrew to drag the Christmas decorations down from the attic and we decorate our house without trying to kill each other at the same time.
It’s just the most wonderful time of the year ;).
While Kensington is at school, Andrew, Smith and I are going to focus and try to get our decorations up and out. I will be linking up with Andrea on December 2 and sharing our decorated house with you. Speaking of linking up with Andrea…I’m doing that today too (along with Erika and Narci!).
Here are a few things that have me excited on this Friday!
I never start off with one of my recipes but today, I am! My simple and yummy Pepperoni Pizza Soup would be delicious on your dinner table this weekend! It’s like pizza in a bowl :).
We look forward to ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas programming each year and the schedule is already out. We set our DVR like crazy and record some great stuff for our kiddos!
Speaking of Christmas, if you missed our elf last year, you can click here and see all of the things we did with him. That little guy is about to make his annual appearance which means Andrew and I are about to have to get creative…sigh…that is always easier the first few days… after a week, I just want the elf to stay still.
Since I’m on a Christmas kick…I’ll continue…right now, I’m listening to carols all day, every day (don’t judge). My favorites are Pandora’s Christmas Radio and Sirius XM’s Holly.
And listen, if there was a soundtrack of my childhood, it would be this right here…
…my parents had the Carpenter’s Christmas album on repeat for the 18 years that I lived there. Every single solitary Christmas memory I have, has this album playing in the background. Years ago, I felt like my kids needed the same memories and they have it…here…
…my boyfriend Michael Buble’s Christmas album plays on repeat at our house.
On Tuesday, I did a fun Nordstrom Party Dress post (Party Shoes are coming next week!!)…but my favorite part about the entire post…you friends enjoyed this the most…
…everyone loved my fleece pajamas! I had several of you email me and leave comments and saying that you’ve also purchased them and understand why I’m so in love. I’m not going to lie…after wearing them five nights in a row, I decided to purchase the leopard ones too :). I plan on wearing these pjs all fall and winter long (and probably spring too!).
I bought a few pairs to give as gifts to ladies in my life…such fun and cute gifts to give girls from teens to senior adults! Who doesn’t want a pair of the world’s softest pajamas?!?!
And speaking of my party dress post, here are the two you seemed to love the most with a few extra for grins. Tis the season for party dresses! If you’re looking for some cute ones, Nordstrom has them this year!! I love any reason to put on some sparkle and heels.
This polka dot dress seemed to be pretty much everyone’s favorite! If you’re a petite size, it’s available in sizes 2 to 12. I really loved this dress too! If you’re not in the petite sizing, these dresses are also very similar…
Another party favorite was this sequin dress. Listen, I think we all secretly would wear sequins every day if it were socially acceptable. Head to toe sequin just makes me happy!
Speaking of sequins, I didn’t show you this dress the other day because they didn’t have it in my size and it was really big on me (and not that flattering)…but, I think it’s a super cute dress and if it were in my correct size, it would have been so much fun!
Isn’t this dress cute? I love the color…it’s grey which I think is an unexpected color to wear to holiday parties.
Well…next week, we cover some holiday shoes to wear with these dresses. And don’t worry…I’ll throw in some house shoes and slippers too…not every girl has a party to attend this season but every girl needs some coziness in her life :).
Happy Friday friends! I hope you have the BEST weekend!!

I LOVE the pj's too! After your post I bought them for myself and for my daughters. (they are 12 and 15, btw and tall…ugh. tall girls are awesome, but hard to shop for!)
Our elf is about to make its appearance, too! Just wait till the kids are teenagers. The elf is even more hysterical. 🙂 Happy Christmas-decorating!

Any suggestions on the sizing of fleece PJ's? No reviews on Nordstrom's and I have a person who wears a size 6, with a short and tiny frame so any comment on size would be appreciated??? Thanks for your thoughtful ideas!!

I don't do Christmas decor until the day after thanksgiving, but I have already started listening to my Christmas music! Since I live in Chicago and its already bitter cold, I probably should consider decorating earlier! I freeze bringing in all those bins from the garage! I am excited about the decor for your new house!

I put the leopard pj's on my wishlist for Christmas, hopefully they don't sell out before someone buys them for me 😉 I've been listening to Christmas carols for the past few weeks too, it drives my husband crazy. I was so excited to hear them start playing on the radio the other day! Happy decorating today!!

I'm in Northern California and a local mom has written a story called The Christmas Star from Afar, which chronicles the birth of Jesus. There is a nativity and star that you move around each day. The kids have to find it and then move the 3 kings to the star's location (just like the story of the kings following the star). Finally on Christmas Day, the star is over the nativity so the kings can find Jesus on his birthday. Something that links the true meaning of Christmas 🙂

Pandora Michael Buble holiday station – you need that!!! Love it and him! I also love those pj's and think I need the leopard and the polka dot ones. If you have tips on how to get a 3 year old to not be terrified of Santa, please help a mama out! I have an Elf on the Shelf and want to use it so bad, but if you mention Santa around my oldest son, he freaks out. I have no clue why he's so scared. He even made us promise to not let Santa in the house last year.

The Carpenters Christmas CD is a classic! Michael Buble's is in my top 3 Christmas CD's. Hallmark has cute Christmas movies on too!

Shay,
I totally love Christmas music too, and my men are going to love that Pepperoni Pizza Soup ! It's "soup weather." I do have one question for you though. Do you have a problem getting your kids to eat what you cook for dinner ? I know it's always awesome, but my little one is really picky and doesn't eat what we eat and I was wondering if yours did… what you did different?
Happy Christmas Decorating… can't wait to see it !
