5 Days of Fabulous
Day one, here.
And now on to my annual holiday home tour.  Each year, I try to take pics of my Christmas decorations.  I do this for two reasons: 
1. my grandmother tells me to 
2. it helps me remember where I place things and then makes decorating the following year easier (I just pull up the pics)
We’ve been in 3 houses over the last 7 years of my blog…our old house, our rent house and now, our new house.  I always enjoy pulling out my decorations and putting them up each year.  I’m sorry I can’t link to every decoration, but I’ve accumulated this stuff for over a decade.  When in doubt, I probably bought it at Pottery Barn.  
This is our first year in our new house…welcome…
Those are little fir trees planted on either side of my front door.  We’re going to plant them in the backyard after Christmas.

I love sticking strings of lights in random places.

I took out what I typically keep in here and added Christmas things along with framed pictures of my kiddos every time they’ve sat in Santa’s lap.

 I love nothing more than that plate with those sweet feet on there.  They were 2 and 3 at the time.

More random lights about and then our little advent house we bought in Belgium.  There are 24 little doors for candy.

We put a little 4.5 tree upstairs and added big colorful bulbs.  It’s really cozy at night.

Smith’s room.  (And FYI: he has had that little suitcase packed next to his bed for several weeks…he’s ready to leave to get Ashby).

We love our flannel Christmas sheets.

 I got these plush dolls from my friend Megan (who has the cutest online boutique!).  My kids love playing with them :).

And we bought a real tree to put overlooking the pool.
Every year when I take down my Christmas decorations, I say a prayer for my friends and family.  I always hope that the following year, when I pull the stuff back out, life hasn’t changed too much.  These little decorations are a sweet reminder of happy times and most importantly, they signal the beginning of a month where we celebrate the most sacred thing…the birth of Jesus.

    I used to take pictures to help me decorate each year but now I actually like switching things up. I sometimes do it just because I don't remember. I have found over the years though, that I don't put out all my decorations. Times change depending on where you are in your lives. My children are adults so a lot of the santa and more childlike decorations stay packed away. Next year there will be our first grandchild (YAY) so I'm thinking they may start to get pulled out again.
