5 Days of Fabulous: Town Squares & Blardigans


We’re halfway through our Five Days of Fabulous and I bet you started squealing when you saw today’s post title, right?!?!  We’re giving away BLARDIGANS!

Oh my goodness!  One for you and four more for you to give away to your favorite friends!  Listen…every girl needs a cozy blardigan in their life.  I haven’t taken a road trip or plane ride in the 12 months that I’ve had mine without it on.  It’s like wearing a blanket…but it’s actually a cardigan.
Here I am heading out for a six hour car trip…all cozy and warm :).  
When Sheaffer and I started planning this fun giveaway week, we knew a Blardigan would be involved.  Thank you so much to the wonderful creators of the Blardigan (and all things cozy!),  Barefoot Dreams, for providing one to our winner and four for her friends!!  
The winner will be announced tomorrow morning and you have 48 hours to claim your prize.  After that, you will be able to pick your blaridgan color based on availability. 
Listen, if it were me, I would tag four people who need a little cozy in their life right now.  Like a new mom…or someone who maybe is sick…or lost their job.  A Blardigan will add a smile to anyone…but especially someone who just needs an extra bit of love right now.

Andrew and I have been really trying to make the most of this season.  Each year, the weekend after Thanksgiving, both our town and my parents’ town have festivities on their squares…so on Friday, we did one and then on Saturday, we did the other.
 I had gone to pick up my drink and when I turned around, I saw my family all posed like this…we are naturally happy in our favorite place…Starbucks.
On my parents’ square, they have fake snow that shoots out at you…and my kids love it every single year!  Can you see them chasing the snow?

The local high school brass band played carols by the carriage rides, Christmas tree and Santa Claus…pretty magical.

He’s so sweet.  He just wanted to listen to the music.

The next afternoon, we hit up our town square for some faux-figure skating (that’s not real ice…but it made her happy!).

Even though he knew it wasn’t real ice, he preferred the side.
Team work.

Magical.

I just couldn’t love these people any more.

My kids’ favorite part every single year is the “sledding”!

We rode the carousel, of course!

And then the 3 of us took a little train ride around the square.
And we couldn’t leave without petting the animals.  Kensington loved the little pigs the most.

This is Smith telling me he will not pet a donkey.  Poor donkey.

Spending time with my family doing fun things like this over the weekend is absolutely one of my favorite parts of this season!  Just being with the people, hearing the Christmas music and seeing the lights makes my heart just melt.

    I am tagging special women today who so deserve this. My friend Dawn who will be starting radiation treatments for breast cancer on January 5 … 5 days a week for 5 weeks … my friend Sue who just lost her mother this week and who also lost her sister this year. These women have never lost faith in their time of sorrow and need. They are great women of faith. Also I would give one to my coworker who just had a baby … it gets cold here in Michigan for those middle of the night feedings … and also my office manager who is a good woman who was kind to me in our families sorrow when we lost our beloved 7 year old yellow lab this year to a heartbreaking disease. All these women could wear this from me and always know that I am hugging them.

My mom is really sad about her mom and recently had surgery herself. She could really use the pick me up. One of my best friends who lives a long drive away from me was recently laid off. I've wanted one ever since, and they sold out during the anniversary sale before I got my hands on one! I'm 5 months pregnant with my second (yes- we didn't waste any time!) and two out of 3 of my sweet cousins are pregnant!!!
