What we’re eating this week:
This week, we’re busy, busy, busy! I made my Meal Planning Monday this week in honor of the chaos (everything is simple and quick!). You can see my menu for the week here.
What I’m reading:
I’m reading some good stuff right now! My monthly book review will be March 25, and I will review all of the books I’ve been reading this month including this one that I’m reading right now (I can’t put it down!)…
What I’m reminiscing about:
This morning at 8:00 a.m. we officially, officially, officially adopt Ashby! Eeks! I’m so excited!! Right now, I’m reminiscing about how this girl…
…shy/sad/scared/confused Ashby about one hour after we got her has turned into this girl…
…Miss Life of the Party! In the 10 weeks that we’ve had her, Ashby has just blossomed into this precious little girl who knows she’s loved, cared for, and the center of our world. I really just cannot imagine life without her. She is a Shull :).
What I’m looking forward to:
Well, besides adopting Ashby this morning (of course!), I’m looking forward to Ashby’s first appointment with the hand specialist tomorrow morning. We are very anxious to hear what they have to say about her hand and our choices moving forward.
What I’m loving:
I’ve always wanted a pair of Sam Edelman sandals, and this year, I bought some! It was warm enough on Monday for me to finally be able to wear them…
I’m in love. They are so comfy and I’ll be able to wear them for the next six months straight! I ordered my true size and they fit perfectly. I wore them all day Monday and was in love.
I’m wearing the Saddle Leather color but they also come in these other neutrals…
And they also come in fun prints too…
(And Psssst: nail polish info here.)
What we’ve been up to:
Baseball has started back up for Smith and we are all so excited. This is a pic from his very first game last season…
…I can’t wait until his games this season. I love this boy :).
I have another skin check next week. Boo. The odds are, they’re going to cut something else off of me. You got to get those skin checks friends! I’m getting them twice a year now. Ain’t nobody want to mess around with skin cancer!
What I’m working on:
I love updating my Pinterest Boards for new seasons! Right now, I’m pinning, pinning, pinning all things spring and summer. If you don’t follow me on Pinterest, you can find some of my boards below or see all of my boards here.

What I’m excited about:
Going to Boston with my dad :). Baseball season starts in 2.5 weeks! I can’t wait to be in Fenway Park watching my Sox play!
What I’m watching:
Well, I’m not watching this show yet…but I’m going to watch it when it airs on March 31. I’ve been seeing previews for Younger for about six months now and it finally begins this month. It looks so cute! I love Sutton Foster, so I’m really hoping I love the show too.
What I’m listening to:
Right this very second, I’m listening to the Steve Tyrell station on Pandora. It’s my very favorite :).
What am I annoyed by:
Laundry. This is my least favorite household chore…and a big part of why is because it never, ever, ever ends. Sigh. This made me laugh too…
What am I hoping for:
Optimistic news tomorrow at Ashby’s appointment! I pray that the doctors see her and are able to give us a clear and decisive plan for moving forward.

What am I wearing today:
Well, normally, I’m not dressed up on a Wednesday…but since we’re going to court this morning, I’m wearing a skirt. Probably something like this…
This is my typical church look this time of year…skirt, tights, heels, sweater and jacket.
What else is new:
Not a lot!
What’s up with you?
Happy Wednesday friends!
If you’re looking for a simple supper idea tonight, check out my Spinach & Sausage Stuffed Potatoes…
…you can get the recipe details here.
Have the best day!

Hey Sweet One, Just wondered how you got started having your skin checked. Did something show up that worried you? Did you go to a dermatologist or family doctor? I don't know how to start the process but want to follow your good lead. Please let me know. Thank you! And thinking of you all on this memorable day.
Kim says
Hi Shay! I usually just read your blog daily, but had to comment since I was at my yearly skin check this morning and had a big spot removed on my back! So much better to be proactive about your health than to go through unnecessary hardship later. Good luck with your appt!
Megan Martinez says
Hi Shay! I sent you a little something to Andrew's office last week. I saw it and had to buy it for you. I hope you got it! 🙂

Congratulations on this exciting day!!! I really need to make a list out of the books you list on here and go to Barnes and Nobles. I always tell my hubby I want to ready more but I feel like time just slips away from me. I'm praying for a wonderful doctors appt for Ashby tomorrow!!

What a special few days for you guys! So happy for y'all! 🙂

I too get twice a year skin checks at the dermatologist. I want to encourage you that you'll get to a point where they stop cutting every time….usually because they've cut all the scary ones off already!!! 🙂
And you are 100% right that you can't mess with skin cancer! Hang in there!
Congratulations on finalizing the adoption! Forever sounds so good, doesn't it?
Elizabeth Birenbaum says
SO happy for you guys! Congrats on officially officially becoming a family of five. Ashby looks like she is thriving with you guys and you all look like you've been together forever.

You should watch the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix! I think you would like it. It's my new favorite! Created by Tina Fey.
