Back in March for my dad’s 60th birthday party, my mom hired a food truck to come feed us…
…and it was here that I had two of the best burgers EVER! The truck is called Easy Sliders and if you’re ever in the DFW area and see it out and about, pull over immediately :).
The first burger I tried was a beef burger with strawberry jam, goat cheese and bacon…h-e-l-l-o.
In honor of Easy Sliders, I recreated this burger but made mine with ground turkey and turkey bacon (because I just thought jam and turkey sounded a lot like turkey and cranberry sauce…and that my friends, is one of my favorite combinations). Make these burgers. I’m telling you…make them. Such a fun twist on your basic burger!
This recipe makes four (quarter pound) burgers.
Shopping List
1 pound of ground turkey
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning (or salt & pepper will do)
1 cup or so of strawberry jam
8 pieces of crispy bacon (I used turkey bacon)
6 ounces of goat cheese, crumbled
chopped green onions to garnish
4 burger buns
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Add the poultry seasoning or liberal pinches of salt and pepper to your ground turkey. Divide turkey into four sections and make four patties. Grill patties about 8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Take each burger bun and top with two pieces of crispy bacon, turkey patty, strawberry jam, crumbled goat cheese and garnish with a bit of chopped green onion.
Heaven help me.
The salty and sweet combination just work on this burger. Totally works.

We make these in our home too and they are such a hit! I use a Strawberry Jalapeno Jam we buy at our local farmer's market. To die for!
