So, today’s post is going to be a little bit different.
Tomorrow, I’m going to set my goals for the month of July…and one of them has to do with prayer.
Every day, I get prayer requests emailed to me. Most of the time, they have to do with infertility or adoption…but sometimes, they have to do with other things too. I pray for each and every person who emails me. My heart sincerely breaks for so many people out there that are really going through hard times. Let’s face it…at some point, each of us has gone through something really hard or will go through something really hard. In this life…it’s inevitable.
My goal this month is to pray more. I really want to set aside time every day to really focus and pray above and beyond my normal prayers for those of you out there that are really struggling. When I was thinking about this goal, I thought about how there are many, many, many of you out there who are prayer warriors too. You love the Lord and love praying for others, so I’m inviting you to do this with me. Today, I’m asking for prayer requests…not just for me to pray over but for others of you out there to pray over too. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus clearly states that “when two or more are gathered in my name, I am there with them”.
My promise is to pray over each prayer request before I publish it and then to daily go back this month and continue to pray for you guys. I am…dare I say…prayerful…that those of you out there that spend time in God’s Word and in prayer daily, will also join me this month in praying over these requests too.
Right now, the biggest prayer request I have in my own life is Ashby. Ashby’s health problems are a lot more serious than we first expected. Right now, she is so happy and full of joy. She runs and plays and acts just like any other three year old would. Unfortunately, that could all change on a dime. My prayer is first and foremost for her heath. I pray she stays healthy. My second request is for one of these doctors to figure out the best treatment plan for her. They all seem very concerned and very stumped at the same time…not exactly the best combination. So, right now, that’s my biggest prayer request.
I’m praying for YOU this morning. I know there are a lot of hurting people out there. I know there are a lot of angry people out there. I’m praying for you (and I know in my heart that other believers who read my blog will be praying for you too). Please leave your prayer request in the comment section and we will be praying for you.

Praying for your sweet girl, that nothing robs her of that contagious joy that shines through in every photo you post. God is good, and NOTHING is too "big" or "small" for Him to care for!
My continuous prayer this summer is for the opportunity to minister to families in my neighborhood. On any given day I could have up to eight kiddos here at my house while their parents work, and I would just ask for a constant renewing of spirit, so I don't grow weary and so that I can continue to show the love of Christ, not of my own effort!
Jen says
I'm a teacher who watches children in the summer so I can relate to your prayer request! I prayed for you today…that you have energy and patience.

Such a powerful thing prayer is yet it is so simple to do. I will add sweet Ashby to my prayers. I will lift her up in prayer and I ask that you do the same for my family. My father is experiencing issues with his eye and is seeing a specialist next week as he will most likely need surgery. He has heart issues so nothing is ever simple. And on a less serious note, my son is entering his senior year of high school in the fall and has some pretty big things to tackle. Please pray for him as well. Aren't you just a bright light in this sometimes dark world. Thank you!

I do have a prayer request. I'm a 43 year old mom of an adorable 4 year old little boy. I have an amazing husband. On 5/29, I was diagnosed with stage IIA breast cancer. I just finished my 2nd round of chemo yesterday. My prayer request is for healing and to maintain the positive attitude that is been my life saver thus far. I've been feeling great and I credit much of it to my focus on seeing the positive wherever I can. I even post an image to instagram (tamkay123) everyday with the hashtag #positivepower.

You are so sweet to do this. I say a little prayer for your Ashby and your whole family all the time when I see the precious pictures. I will continue to do that. ♥
My prayer request is for those who don't ask for them. My husband and I went through a very serious situation with our son over the last three years and I didn't really have the nerve to share it all with people. We needed prayer warriors but I didn't know how to ask. Life is good now but I won't forget that sometimes people feel isolated.
Sara Fehrenbacher says
This is such a good thing to remember, Stacey. You're exactly right that sometimes people need prayers but just don't know how to ask. I will pray for those today who need God's guidance, and support from those around them, especially when they can't be vocal about their struggles.
Denise Ross says
I will pray for them too.

Not as serious as some but I am returning to work after my maternity leave and I am scared and sad to leave my babies.
I am reading all these prayer requests – maybe on those days where you will be gone Shay this will be a topic for "talk amongst yourselves?" It seems just even a little love from near and far (Canada here) can help!

Praying for you sweet Mama…..God's got this. You will miss your babies but they are his first and foremost. I had to "give" my babies to God every single day I dropped them off at daycare. Praying for Ashby's health and wisdom for her doctors! I would love it if you would say a prayer for my son Cooper. He's a bit behind with some development. Please pray that he makes great strides with his Speech and OT this summer so that 1) we know that we're not dealing with something more serious and 2) he's in a good place to start preschool (MMO) in the fall. Thank you, Shay!
jjwgal says
Barbara sending prayers for you as we are in the same boat. My son has just completed his first year for preschool at our school district, receiving services from the Special School District as well. He has come a long way, meeting some of his goals, setting new ones. But we still have a ways to go. I am sending prays for peace, love, understanding and patience as I know that is what I need. There are times where he just can't tell us what he wants and it is frustrating for us all. Then there is potty training which just is happening and he just turned 4. I am embarrassed and feel as though as I am failing him as his momma, but it just isn't working for him.

I feel your pain, Stacey. Within 16 months I'll have been a bridesmaid 4 times. I feel like I've become "that person" that everyone is always racking their brains trying to set up. I was told several times there would be lots of single guys at the last wedding, yet none made an impression. Dating is so hard, especially in my small town. Every night I pray for my future boyfriends and husband and now I'll add you and your future husband to that list. Since we are going through the same struggle, I'd love to connect with you more!

I want to become more prayerful as well. I sometimes get overwhelmed with everybody that I want to be praying for, but that Max Lucado quote is awesome and helped me realize that He of course shares in it with me!
Karen says
I agree Sheaffer! What an awesome way to think about it. I often think my words are a jumbled mess when I sit down to pray. The intention is understood though. I need to remember that!
Leslie Roberts Clingan says
Sheaffer and Shay,
I follow you both, and know what spiritual, beautiful hearts you both have. I was not raised in a religious or spiritual home which has made me a late bloomer in this area. Lots of times I find myself wording and rewording my prayers for fear I am not saying something "right". The Max Lucado quote is such a gentle reminder of the truth! Thank you for sharing yourselves with us! Will be praying for answers for sweet Ashby's health problems. She is such a joy!

Prayers for your sweet girl & your entire family. It is so hard on the heart when it's your child, and you feel powerless to "fix" it.
My request is also for my daughter. She is 5, & has a rare disorder (I can empathize with you about doctors being stumped!), and the past year has been very difficult with many changes in her health, & frequent hospitalizations. She is the light of our lives,non-mobile, nonverbal, & dependent on IV nutrition, Please pray her doctors would come up with a better plan to manage her abdominal pain & nausea. It is sometimes hard to pray, when the issues seem so overwhelming, so thank you for your prayers. Xo

I believe in the power of prayer and I don't want to sound like I am trying to diagnose anything, trust me!, but I just want to throw out there that my grandma too became unhappy and somewhat unpleasant in her last years – she got on antidepressants and my entire family including her were able to have the best, most pleasant and fun last years with her because of that! I just love your heart, Shay. You are truly an inspiration to so many people, and your readers are truly blessed! Please know that I'm praying for sweet Ashby and your family as y'all face this difficult time of the unknown regarding her health.
I am requesting prayers for peace and stability. I'm one year post divorce after my (ex) husband admitted to having cheated on me for several months. It's been the hardest thing and has really shaken my faith. I feel that I'm on a good path, but this phase has proven to be painful and truly difficult to journey. This is so uncharted for me and my family and my constant response to people asking how I'm doing: I'm struggling. Not in the worst way, but in a bad, uneasy, really uncertain kind of way.
Thank you again so much for this post and for your prayers. Prayer is absolutely powerful and I know that so many lives will be touched because of this post. Thank you, Shay.

Praying for Ashby! This is such a great blog post.
I have two prayer requests. Last October, my best friend, Jen, lost her husband (a 26 year old). A drunk driver hit him on I-10 (we live in Houston). He was coming home from work. Their newborn baby was 3 days shy of turning 1 month old. She moved back to Maryland where they were from, but she just stayed with me in Houston for the past two weeks. Please pray for strength for her. Please pray for guidance for her life and that God would speak to her and let her know he is with her.
My second request is to pray for my co-worker, running partner, and friend, Hannah. At 27, she lost her husband to a four-wheeler accident in January. They have a 1 year old baby boy. Please pray for strength and that she would not lose sight of God through this terrible accident.
I don't know why these terrible things happen, but there really is nothing to do besides pray in these situations! Thank y'all!

I lost my first husband while pregnant with our fifth child (our older kids were 3, 4, 6, and 7). It was extremely difficult, but I can tell you that God will carry your friends through these times and even bring them to a place of joy again. Many days I made a choice to "fake it til you make it" and trust that God had not abaondoned me. Bad things happen because there is sin in the world, but God takes our worst moments and makes them work for our ultimate good. It has been ten years since my husband's death and I am now married to an amazing man and the lucky mom of 7 kids. I will be praying for your friends!

Please pray for me and my daughter. My husband left us and filed for divorce when she was a few weeks old. I never wanted to be divorced and it has been very hard as a single mom. Our divorce was just finalized and I found out my grandmother has cancer. A very aggressive form of cancer. It is a dark season right now and I know God sees and hears it all. Please also pray that my brother will be able to see my grandmother before she passes away. Thank you so much!

I felt led to encourage you. I, too, am recently divorced and a single mom. I was happily married for 14 years. God is so good and he will get you through this. I thought my life was over, but I am happy again and not because of a relationship with a man, but because of a relationship with God! Give it all over to Him. It is so hard to do, but the peace and joy you find is so worth it! Praying for you and your precious daughter and grandmother.

What a great thing this is! I would ask for prayers for my sister who's in an abusive marriage. She is a kind, loyal, forgiving soul who married someone who matches the medical definition of a psychopath. She needs clarity and truth poured into her about the severity of her situation. Thanks everyone.

This is beautiful and so thoughtful. Love how you use your platform to love people. Praying for health for sweet Ashby, wisdom for you, Andrew and the doctors and peace for your family.
We have been trying to get pregnant for over a year. It's really sad at times. Can't imagine how much more difficult it would be if we didn't alrea have 2 beautiful children. We didn't have trouble getting pregnant the first two times and the only thing that has changed is I had my appendix out a year ago. I worry that the lower abdominal laporoscopic incisions have caused scar tissue or something. So please pray for healing and trust in God's timing. Thanks so much.

We share a very similar situation. I also have 2 children and always wanted 3. I've had 2 unsuccessful IUIs and about to have a third. I don't know how much longer I should keep trying before accepting a third baby may not be in God's plan for our family. Prayers to you.

I just have to share that this blog post was an answered prayer! After I read your post yesterday and commented about my book recommendations, I prayed for you… specifically that God would continue use your blog and you for His glory! Praying He will give you peace and protection, and that your mind will be focused on the truth of his Word! My prayer request is also that I can be more focused on prayer! Xoxo

I have been reading your blog for a while and it has been wonderful to follow your adoption story. You have opened my heart up to adoption and showed what a wonderful blessing it can be. You have also provided me with such strength and encouragement on some of my darkest days with your own stories of struggling with infertility. Please pray for my husband and I as we have been struggling for over two years with fertility issues. Pray for our successful fertility treatments and peace in our hearts and mind during these challenging times.

Please pray for peace for me and my two children, ages 8 and 5. My husband of 11 years decided he didn't want to be married and left us….for no reason other than he didn't want to be married. Prayers for your sweet baby girl! I know it must be hard! I would love prayers for my sweet, 4 year old son Parker. He has severe apraxia. Apraxia is a major speech disorder where he knows what he wants to say but physically cannot say it. It is heartbreaking. He goes to speech therapy four times a week, occupational therapy two times a week, feeding therapy one day a week and behavioral therapy to get ready for school five hours a week. He is so happy and tries harder than any child I know. I just pray he will start to make progress soon and hear his sweet voice. I also pray we as parents don't worry about the future but take it one day at a time rather than worrying about the future. Thank you!

Here are a website and a blog that I hope will be helpful
1) Foundations Developmental House-It was started by Lynn Carahaly, a speech language pathologist, who specializes in apraxia. It's in Arizona, but I have read that people travel to see her and enroll their children in one week intensive sessions. Unfortunately, I don't know how much it costs. The website is http://www.fdhkids.com.
2) There is a blog called Jake's Journey about a little boy ( now finishing KG) who has made amazing progress. jakes-journey-apraxia.com.
I pray that your son starts to make progress soon. I agree with Cristina-keep those therapies going!

We pray for wisdom for both her parents and the doctors. We cast out all fear and attacks from the enemy and we pray your perfect peace would be released over everyone in Jesus name. We thank you in advance for the healing you are going to do.
PS. My church (in Carrollton) has a healing prayer every other week that we go to. It's awesome. They see miracle after miracle! Let me know if you want more information on it! They/We would love to pray for you and see God's work manifest in Ashby! I will be praying for you. Before I scrolled down to the comment section, I prayed that God would show me someone I could pray for. He led me to you. We are in similar situations. We had been trying for 2 years to conceive, went in for a procedure to open my blocked fallopian tubes and were told it would be impossible to conceive without IVF. The week I scheduled our first consultation with an IVF doctor I found out I was pregnant. Totally from God. Then 4 days later I miscarried. Since the miscarriage 3 weeks ago I have really struggled with the "why" questions. What Ive learned from it? I don't get to know the why, He is God and I am not. This is one of those times that you feel like no one else knows your pain….I do. Will pray for you and your husband on your journey 🙂 Alexis

"Thank you God for sweet Ashby. Thank you for allowing the Schull family to be the perfect family for her during this time. I pray that as she continues through this journey, that you would send the right doctors, with the right experience and knowledge to walk them through this time. I pray for a complete healing for her and her little body that she would never even remember this time of her life, the pain, and the constant poking and prodding of her body. I pray that while she's at her Dr.'s visits that you would give Ashby and her family comfort and wisdom as well as strength, as they may be faced with many decisions. Be with Kensington and Smith during this time, though they may not understand all that is going on, but they would have a peace about their baby sister. Shay, each morning following my own quiet time with the Lord, I go online to read your blog, as it is a ray of sunshine no matter what my circumstances might be on any given day. I love that you send it so early and that it's always there waiting for me! I continue to pray for precious Ashby and that the Great Physician will impart wisdom to her doctors so that they will know the way to treat her successfully. I also cover each of these prayer requests and ask that the Lord will minister to each individual as only He can do. Isn't it comforting that we need not be concerned with our words or how we express our prayers, for the Lord knows our hearts, and He has given us the Holy spirit who hears our moans and who intercedes on our behalf.

Oh sweet Ashby!! The moment I found out you were adopting my prayers began for your daughter and for your family! Adoption is a high calling and one close to Gods heart. I followed your journey for your gotcha day and have loved to see the beautiful family of 5 you have become. Each and every time you speak of an appointment and even when you just post a darling picture of your sweet girl I pray over her and for Gods healing and direction for Ashbys life! I pray His will in her life and for the best of care for her. I will continue to lift your family up as with any parent, raising children is full of unknowns and our hearts are constantly walking outside of our bodies! We too are adopting, we are patiently waiting for our assessor to come to our home to finalize our homestudy. We have a stack of paper work to prepare for her ( to be added to the other enourmous amount we have already submitted). We are domestically adopting a baby girl, though we don't know where she is or when she might be born, we daily seek God to guide our every step and his hand placed upon her and her birth parents. Financially it is a tall task and yet we didn't want that to keep us from doing what we are called to do! We have trusted God with all we have, we took our house off the market that we were selling and pulled out of a house that we were contracted on to follow Gods lead as we felt he was wanting us to proceed with our adoption first. We are a one income family and trying our best to provide a good life for our children but more importantly we want to return to God what is His! We believe in adoption and we know without a doubt he has called us to this journey we just ask that others remember us at this time to pray for closure on our homestudy and finances to be provided for our adoption in completion. We are so thankful for those that haves joined our journey in prayer and blessings and look forward to our daughters "gotcha day"! she has 3 big brothers patiently awaiting her arrival , but we will pray and wait patiently in the Fathers will until that day comes!!! Thank you Shay for being an inspiration, thank you for being raw with your feelings, it makes our journey that is less traveled know it's worth it seeing the completion of your beautiful family! Ashby is HIS daughter and I am confident in His hand upon her life and her beautiful future. She was created by Him placed in your loving arms, by no mistake. Blessings to you Shulls for being the hands and feet of Jesus! Xoxo Amanda @mytruenorth

Shay, Ashby and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The love that you and Andrew have given that little girl brings me to tears. I just hope that the wonderful doctors of Dallas are able to give her the treatment she needs.
I struggle with being single in my late 20's. Most of my girlfriends are married or on their way to marriage. I long to spend the rest of my life with a loving husband and father to my future kids. Why is it so hard to find the "perfect" man for me? I pray and write about this in my journal just wish God would lead him to me and that I recognize His gift (I'm afraid that who I envision as my husband may not be the guy God sends me and I subconsciously push away the right man). Your prayers for me would mean so much. I hope to have what you and Andrew have someday!

In the past six months I have had some medical issues come up that could be the cause of this. I am scared and worried. Please pray for healing of my body, peace, and trust in gods timing.

I love this idea so much and am so thankful to have found your blog, Shay! Your posts light up my day. I completely believe in the power of prayer and ask for prayers for my marriage (going through a lot of tough transitions) and of course for good health for my family. I will pray for all of you, as well. Thank you!
Kara Janzen says
I love this and the heart you have. I was one of those that you mentioned that emailed you about infertility. We struggled for 2 years before getting pregnant through IVF (while living in Stockholm, Sweden) only to find out at our follow up ultrasound that there was not heart beat and an empty sac. We tried IVF again and it was successful. My due date is tomorrow and I am excited and nervous. I just want everything to be okay with the labor and delivery but most of all the baby. I don't have any reason to think there is something wrong but since we started trying 3 years ago and we are so close it seems a little surreal and I'm just worried. I would love your prayers. Praying for Ashby and your family as well. Thanks for being so open and honest about it all and for encouraging us to pray for each other.

Prayers for sweet Ashby. What a blessed little girl to have found her way home to your family, her family. I will keep her and you all in my prayers.
For me, please pray that my 16 year old daughter will lose the struggle she has with anxiety and depression. Last summer she was in a suicide prevention group, this summer is much better but she still struggles. Sometimes school work and life become too much for her and she just seems to retreat inside herself and give up. Please pray that she'll come out of all that, embrace the person she is and find happiness within herself. Thank you for this post, it's one of my favorites! I love seeing your heart in all your posts, but this one really got me.

I know it sounds silly in light of such serious requests, but I'd like help praying for my future husband and that we find each other soon.
Christene Demers- Rowland says
Not silly at all. I pray for God to guide me to the right man for me and this to love my daughter as his home. I pray for God to help guide you to the right man for you.

I have the same prayer request, so it is definitely not silly. Best of luck to you, Lauren.

Praying for sweet Ashby. It's amazing to see how far she's come in these past months and how full of joy and love she is. I get such happiness and joy following you and your family through this blog!! A true example of God's perfect timing and unique plan. This excerpt from Sarah Young's Jesus Today may help you in times of confusion/stress as you and Ashby continue to learn and pray about her health and healing: "Trust me, here and now. You are in rigorous training-on an adventurous trail designed for you alone. This path is not of your choosing but is My way for you. I am doing things you can't understand. That is why I say 'Trust Me!' The jungle is thick, and you cannot clearly see what is before you, behind you, or beside you. Cling to my hand as you follow this trail in shadowy darkness. Although you cannot see Me, My Presence with you is rock-solid reality. Find hope in Me, beloved, for I am taking care of you."
I have recently been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis/Crohn's Disease at the age of 18 (just months after giving my life to Christ.) My prayer request if for my ability to cope with this chronic disease and all the unknowns that lay ahead for my health. I struggle with the conflicting methods of treatment/understanding of this illness and fear for how I am going to adjust and cope with it when I return to college in the fall. My prayer request is that God will give me peace and allow my body to detox and heal from whatever damage is done. And that He will work on the hearts of my family to stop blaming themselves or fearing the future. Thank you so much!!!
Sending all my love and my prayers! 🙂

Praying for Ashby here–for me it's always the not knowing about medical things that bothers me the most. Give me a diagnosis and a treatment plan and at least you have something to focus on and work towards.
I need prayers for my son who is being bullied. A kid he has gone to school with since preschool (so 10 years) told the group of boys DS hangs with that he hates DS and no one is allowed to talk to him or hang out with him, and shockingly, they are all going along with it. He is trying to hang with some other friends, but he is one very sad boy and it just breaks my heart to see him so sad and sometimes so very lonely.

Kristen – this is truly awful. I was bullied when I was a young girl and you never forget it. Please tell your son for me to stay strong. He is a wonderful young man. Bullies are lonely, unhappy people and we need to feel sorry for them. I am praying for your son!
Karen
Rebecca says
Praying for positive relationships for your son! Praying that he grows to find the ultimate friend in Jesus and that he can develop earthly friendships with other boys who know the same. Praying that your son grows to love himself for who he is and that God will open doors for him to meet others with common interests and joys in life. We talk so much about the intricacies of romantic relationships and yet fail to discuss in depth the challenges presented by platonic friendships. For children especially, friendships present so many horrible obstacles to overcome. It is time we tackle this issue head on! I pray that your son grows to be a leader for social positivity, and that his experiences with bullying draw him to a role where he can be a friend to others who have been bullied and are feeling the same way, too. We all need a friend.

This hits home for me, as my daughter has the same thing Ashby does. Our doctors were perplexed and it was taking quite a while to form a plan. I couldn't sit idle. I know it's not my business, but if this can help you in ANY way, it will be worth it. Please look at this and do a bit of research. We had to travel several times from Raleugh, but SO worth it. We had answers, we had peace and most of all, our daughter is now physically thriving.

Prayers for sweet Ashby!!!
We are moving in a month away from out two steady jobs for my husband to go back to school. I am terrified and stressed at the same time. Will you please join us in prayer that the Lord will continue to provide for us and give me a way to provide for our family? Specifically, we would like for me to work from so we will not have to be concerned with paying a childcare bill on top of all of our other bills.
Kristen says
I will be saying prayers for sweet Ashby! I have had 5 miscarriages in past two years and struggle with ivf. Sometimes I don't know how I can continue.
Christa says
Thank you for praying and will pray the Dr.'s find answers for your daughter. I was laid off 5 years ago and have been on a new educational and career path and finding it hard to continue and so scared that no one will hire me again. May God take away my fear and I find the motivation I need to continue.

Blessed by this post. Had this post happened a year ago, I would have desperately needed so much prayer. Thankfully, I now look back on that hard time and realize God's plan was so much better than mine all along. It's really humbling to see God's faithfulness. I pray that for each of these people who are facing hard times today.

I ask for prayers for my 11 month old son. He has been having seizures since he was 5 months old and still have not found a treatment for him that works. I know no matter what God will take care of him and it gives me comfort in knowing that.

Please pray for my husband and I as we try for baby #2. The first time was not easy, 3 years and a successful 1st IUI, and this second time is proving the same. We've already had one failed IUI attempt this time. I know HE has a master plan, and I'm ok with that, it's just hard waiting in the mean time 🙂 Thanks for the prayers!

First and foremost, prayers to sweet Ashby and to you and your family. There is a purpose and plan for Ashby and a reason that she found her way into your hearts and family and to the hearts of many others who follow you. The love of you, your family and God will see you all through it and I have no doubt that she could not do it without it. What every child needs more than anything else in this world is love and that is worth more than all of the other things combined and luckily Ashby has found that with you and your family. It is peaceful knowing that she is at home with you and your loving family. Wishing and praying for much peace and love to you and yours.

Praying for the doctors to have wisdom and clarity for your sweet Ashby… and that you and your husband also have the same! Please pray that my husband and I would both be able to see beyond obstacles related to adoption and that we can fully trust that Lord will provide and pave the way. AND for unity as we either move forward with the pursuit, wait, or figure out if the Lord has something else in mind regarding orphan care for our family.

It's amazing to think that the God of the universe, who already knows all things, desires for me to share the things that are on my heart with him.
I've added Ashby to my prayer list. God has an amazing plan for your sweet girl!
I would appreciate prayers for my health. I have been fighting Lymes Disease for 5 years. It's an everyday battle that is taking a toll on my body, emotions, and family. My desire is to allow God to teach me everything He can through this trial.

I am relieved June is almost over. What started as an amazing turned out stressful and living day to day. I single mom for my 7 year old daughter. Now I am caring for my Grandma who recently found out she Pancreatic Cancer. Since being home(16 days now) she is refusing to see her doctors and make plan for health long term(her choice). I was going to say more….we need prayer.
Praying for your sweet Ashby and your family. Praying for the doctors to come up with the best plan for Ashby.

I will be praying for your sweet Ashby's healing, and for the doctor's wisdom, and your peace. It is so hard to be the Momma and searching for answers.
I would cherish your prayers for my daughter's total healing from headaches (resulting from a concussion after a fall from a cheer stunt two years ago), as well as all the resulting side effects…it has been a nightmare in every area of her life, and taken a toll on our family. I would pray her life be restored and the plans God has for her come to fulfillment. He is good and faithful, and my greatest desire is for our home and hearts to be filled with faith, hope, and joy in Him above all!

Prayers for your sweet Ashby!
My prayer request is to have peace and guidance. My heart's desire is to be a wife and momma but I'm in my early 30's and still single so not sure what God's plan is for my life. If those things aren't in His plans for me then I desperately pray for peace and if they are in His plans that I would have patience and clarity
Anonymous says
Julie, I will pray for you!! My request is the exact same as yours… Can we pray for each other? I know how this feels, except I think I now officially qualify as mid-30s at 35!! EEKS. 🙂 I know God has a plan for both of us that is really good. I will be praying that he will bring you that right husband and continue preparing you for being a wife and mom if this is His plan. If not, I pray He will give us joy in whatever He has!! I ask if you would pray that I would not be afraid to hope and that I would prioritize growth spiritually, professionally, and personally (basically good healthy habits in all areas).

Please pray for my husband and I as we are trying to grow our family through adoption. The past three years have been filled with painful fertility treatments and a miscarriage. Today is the due date we would have had our first baby, but The Lord called our baby to Heaven when I was 7 weeks pregnant. We began pursuing adoption and we are desperately waiting to be on that waiting list. Our continuous prayer is for protection of our child, comfort to his or her birth mother and for patience for us
Jessica Smith says
Usually I would never ask for a prayer request even in school as a child. When asked I would say no I"m ok. I went to a private Christian school but it was always difficult to ask for something for myself. Today I ask for prayer for myself and my family.
Last August we lost my sister who was only 24 to a pulmonary embolism. It was just another day it seemed until I got a call. Now, I became a new mom and my daughter was 2 months old. As can be imagined I had many many emotions inside. Anger was so strong in me. It almost ruined my marriage ( our second year of marriage) I became so angry at God well at the whole world.
I ask prayer for healing for myself and my family. We lost a big part of us and learning to live this different kind of living. Thank you.

I love this! I will certainly be praying for Ashby! My prayer request is job related. For quite some time, I've been praying about relocating to the Winston-Salem area, but nothing has working out as far as a job, and it made me question whether that's God's plan for me and if I should just stay put in FL. But just last week we had some major changes at work that made me realize God is telling me to go on and do bigger things. I would appreciate prayer for me to find a job there and to get through my current one until then. Thanks so much!

I have found your posts about infertility helpful and promising, as I have struggled over the past year with infertility, myself. My prayer request is that God will carry us all through our most challenging trials.
Chelsi McDonald says
Please pray for baby Decker as he battles a cancerous brain tumor. The prayer is that the tumor will not grow (or even shrink/disappear, but it really just needs not to grow) and that it will not metastasize to other parts of his body. Please pray for strength and courage and everlasting faith in the Lord for his parents, grandparents, and all who love him. Please pray they will remain hopeful and faithful as they watch their baby boy deal with the hard (emotionally and physically) side effects of chemotherapy, in addition to the normal growing pains (teething, sleeping through the night, etc.) that accompany raising an infant. Please pray for peace to surpass all understanding.

I couldn't love this more. Complete strangers coming together praying for one another.
I met Andrew at Starbucks in Joplin awhile back – well not really met – I introduced myself like a complete stalker. He showed me the sweetest video of Ashby and she really was full of joy. I know this has been an emotional roller coaster – just as any parenting situation is – but I have felt called to pray for y'all and your journey since I first read about Ashby. It was weird. I had never felt so called to pray for complete strangers in my entire life. I am continuing to pray for all of you. Wisdom and direction for the doctors, health over Ashby, and a supernatural peace that surpasses ALL understanding over all five of you.
My prayer request: peace for my husband. He has a very, very stressful job and works 70-80 hours a week. Having a four year old at home makes it even more difficult because he rarely gets to see daddy. We know God is calling us to something but we have no idea what that is. We would appreciate prayer for direction, wisdom, and peace over our home.

Shay, this post was a God send for me today. My family buried my daddy yesterday after a 2 year fight with cancer. My parents were married for almost 40 years and had us 4 children. Our daddy was the perfect leader of our family and loved us in ways I can't even explain. We need prayers for the days ahead as we cope, and for my mom especially, as she has to find her way without her life partner. Life here on Earth is hard, but we are so, so thankful there is hope in Heaven. Sending up prayers for Ashby and your family today, as well as others listed here. God Bless.

5 years ago we were a typical married couple… just bought our first townhouse, and expecting our first baby. In the matter of months it all changed. We lost our daughter to stillbirth, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, and lost our home to mold (we needed a safe place for my husband's recovery). Throughthe grace of God, my husband is still here and doing well… we also were blessed with a beautiful son. However now we are left in a scary reality. Scared the cancer will return, at any second. Scared because we ruined our credit and emptied our savings fighting it, for the last 5 years. We have this gift of extra time, but are so scared we don't get to enjoy it. We both work full time, just to make a dent at our debt. I just ask for prayers, that my husband's cancer never comes back and that I have the strength to keep going… I feel greedy even thinking it, but if there is an extra prayer my heart aches for another child.
Your blog always cheers me up… thank you for doing this. Just opening up about my fears publicly, already makes me less scared❤️❤️

I Pray that I can find out why I can't lose weight. I work out daily. stick to healthy calories have had my blood work checked , thyroid etc.. nothing seems to work.. I'm 5ft 4 and 188lbs.
it's hugely impacted my marriage as my husband is a health nut and can't understand.
it is trivial in the grand scheme of things. but I think about it night and day.

This made me cry, thank you. I am praying for Ashby and all the other requests here. I love this community.
We are in the process of adopting and the road so far has been hard! We are in the process of raising some money to help us get started and things have not gone as we'd hoped. Pray that we would be patient and diligent and that God would open doors so that we can bring a child into our home thay we will love with all our hearts. Also, my husband is trying to get a different position at his job, one that would keep him from traveling as much. This would require us to move so that would be a huge transition, but we know that God has a plan completely in place, just need to completely trust in his timing, not ours.
Hugs and prayers to everyone!

This is very sweet of you to do. I wanted to ask for prayer for me to come back home. Home as in to come home to God. Sometimes I feel like God isn't there and has walked away from me but I know deep down that's not true and that I am the one that has walked away. I am also having some health issues that I need to go to the doctor about but I am scared.

This comes at such a wonderfully needed time! Please pray for a friend battling MS. Only 25, his disease recently showed rapid progression and his symptoms escalated to the point of putting him a wheel chair. He was hospitalized 10 days ago to begin plasma exchanges, as he is no longer responsive to traditional treatments. After undergoing a treatment yesterday, he did not wake up for an extended period of time after the procedure was complete. The doctors are unsure why. This post came at such a perfect time Shay! I read your blog regularly and love you and your little family! I thought I had that perfect little family until Feb. 9th, 2015 when I found out my husband had been lying and cheating on me. Since that moment my world has crashed down over and over again! I have two young boys, ages 6 and 2 that I am trying my very best to keep happy and consistency in their life. My only concern is my boys!! Things are SO turbulent and unknown right now that the only thing I can turn to is prayer and GOD. I am trying my very best to stay strong for my boys and I pray EVERY single day that GOD gives me the strength to get through that day!
So, I am asking for prayer for my boys and prayer for strength for their mommy to get herself and them through this horrible, horrible time. I also need prayer that I don't lose my boys…I have been the sole provider, basically, since both were born…doing everything for them! He is now trying to ask for 50/50 custody and I CAN NOT and WILL NOT give him that…if we wanted it he should have shown it the first 6 and 2 years of their life.
So…please pray for me and my boys!
I will also continue to pray for sweet Ashby! You and your husband are angels sent from heaven to take in that sweet, sweet girl and to care for her!! She is SO unbelievable lucky to have you and Andrew in her life!!

Thank you for doing this. I have so much trouble asking for prayers so forgive me for hiding behind "anonymous" but please know this is a start for me.
I am honored to pray for Ashby and all those who come to this blog.
My prayer request is for my two sons who, in spite of being raised with Christ as the center of our lives, have turned away from Him and either question their belief or claim they do not have a belief in Him. It hurts my heart to even type those words. I am so scared for them as they are 20 and 22 and need the guidance that only He can give.
Thank you to everyone reading this who is able to open their hearts and include us in your prayers.
God bless.

I love this! I had no intention of actually commenting with my prayer request, but the Lord told me to stop being so prideful. I stopped working at the beginning of this year so I could stay home with our kids. I had been working from home part time while my son was napping, but with another baby it was just going to be too hard. Finances are really, really, really tight. We are just praying that the Lord would provide, or that I could find something to do on the side that would not take away too much time with my kids or my husband.

Thank you for doing this! I will pray for sweet Ashby. Please pray for my oldest son. He just turned 4 and has been diagnosed with Autism. He will be starting speech therapy and undergoing testing for some other things in the next month or two. He also has multiple severe food allergies. We've been through a lot of ER visits and doctor visits with those (and carry multiple Epi-pens everywhere we go), but because of those allergies, he hasn't been left with anyone for more than an hour. Also, please pray for my youngest son. He's one and seems to be nervous with all the behavior issues from his older brother. It's all very overwhelming for us right now.
Rebecca says
Praying for you and your sweet boys! Children on the ASD spectrum encourage us to see the world a little bit differently, and that is such a beautiful experience, despite the immense challenges presented, too. I am praying that your younger son has the opportunity to accept and love his brother for who he is, and that the two form a friendship for years. A good friend of mine has 2 boys – one who is gifted, and the younger one who has Autism and is deaf. The challenge was daunting at first, but nearly 20 years later, I can attest that witnessing the friendship formed between these two brothers throughout their upbringing was incredible. They balance each other out and support one another where needed. I pray the same for your boys. I pray for comfort and acceptance for you. I pray for a support system that guides you to positive resources. I pray for the teachers and educational assistants who will work with your son… that they are kind, accepting, uplifting, and embrace your son for every detail of who he is. I pray that both of your boys grow to love each other and themselves. I pray for safety and security – not merely in the physical sense, but in the social and emotional senses, too. Blessings to you and your family as you embark on this journey!

I would appreciate a prayer for me and my husband, as we work to pull our marriage out of the little valley we are currently going through.
I would also love to encourage prayers for the Eddings family from NC. They recently lost their two year old little boy, as well as their 8-month old unborn son in an accident. The faith and strength they have shown after experiencing such devastation is extraordinary, and I just don't think there can be enough prayers in the face of such a tragedy.

Please pray that I pass all my exams for graduate school. I am in my last year and I hope I graduate successfully and that someone will hire me! I have so much school debt that will need to be paid off. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you! And God bless!

What an important post Shay. So much in this world to be prayed about! Our family is experiencing a rift that is causing pain to may of us involved. Some prayers that this will come to a resolution would be so appreciated. I will certainly keep Ashby in my prayers. I have a son with special needs and I know how helpless it can feel as the doctors search for answers. Thank you!

My prayer request is for my sister who is handicapped. Her top front tooth broke off and she will most likely lose the other top front tooth. She is nonverbal so she does not display pain like the rest of us would. It is scary because our family is unsure how she feels. We need to make a decision about whether to remove the tooth, or both teeth, or try to see if they can be fixed. My heart breaks for her because she can't communicate her desires or the pain and I want to do right by her. I appreciate any prayers for guidance.
I will pray for all of the prayer requests listed here and for anyone else who needs prayers but may be unable to ask.

A much appreciated post! I'll definitely be praying for your sweet Ashby.
I have several health issues that could be helped tremendously if I could lose some weight. I've dealt with obesity for several years now and really need God to help me get some control in this area of my life.
Thank you Shay.

I am praying for sweet Ashby that God protect her and heal her in the way only He can. I pray for her physicians that God may guide their treatment and therapy for her. I pray for all of the readers who share their prayer requests today that God hear each one of them and answer them according to
His holy will.
My prayer request is for my brother who has a big exam on Thursday that the Lord will bless him with retaining the information he has learned and that he will do his best and pass with flying colors. I pray for God's guidance for the country that He may lead us all as a more Godly nation.

Thank you so much for this post, Shay. It is exactly what I needed today. Ashby and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
I sort of feel badly putting this request out there, after reading about what other people are going through…but my prayer request is to find my husband. I hope we meet soon. I want nothing more than to build a marriage and a family.
Thanks again, Shay.

Wow, you have had a ton of responses! That just goes to show that so many people need prayers and are willing to pray for others as well. I am dedicated to pray for Ashby this month and I will try to go down the line and pray for as many of your followers as I can.
I also need prayers, this one is quite trivial, but God wants to hear everything on our hearts, right? I need prayers that we hear Gods word about our house. We have had it on the market for a while and it's taking a long time to sell. I really thought I heard God tell me that we needed to move, (for various reasons, but they are all important), but the fact that no one is looking at it makes me wonder if this is what The Lord wants us to do. I know He is preparing something for us, either for our hearts to be okay staying here, or the perfect house to buy. But, the waiting is so hard. We are remaining faithful, but as the weeks and months tick by, it's getting harder, and I really wonder if I was wrong in thinking I heard Him talking to us about moving.
Thanks so much for this wonderful opportunity to not focus on my own needs, but to be a prayer warrior for someone else!

My prayer request is to find work. I've been a term teacher for 2 years and wasn't eligible to be hired as a term teacher again for September so I'm on the substitute teacher call list. I don't need a classroom of my own (although that would be wonderful) but I do need to work often as a substitute then.

Mama, I pray for dearest Ashby's health situation to improve markedly. I pray that she will be able to tolerate the necessary invasive medical procedures to rectify and heal her veins + heart. I pray for her complete recovery from this health problem. I also would like to pray for your family especially for you Mama — that you may ever be more strengthened and be more hopeful that this journey no matter how frustrating, circuitous & torturous, it will be resolved in GOD's time. After all, GOD is the Greatest Healer. PS Mama kindly pray for my daugther who is presently embarking on her tour of Europe. I pray for her safety and for the constant presence of the Holy Spirit in her journey. Cheers, Jane from Oz

I love this post. I pray everyday and sometimes I feel like G-d doesn't hear my prayers.
I will be praying for Ashby and everyone who requested a prayer. But I also need a 2 important prayers for myself. It's hard for me to ask this b/c I sometimes feel I don't deserve prayer and the time of others spent on me but I am trying to tell myself I'm worth prayer.
First-
I have my Masters in Elem Education – I graduated in 2011 and despite completing many maternity leave and medical leave replacements – all long term and getting lots of good feedback from principals and parents I have been unable to secure a position. Please pray that over the summer (hopefully soon since there is a specific job that was posted this month that I REALLY want) I will be hired to teach elementary children. I love kids, I love teaching. It is a real passion of mine to inspire and educate children.
Second-
Since 2003 I have been suffering from anorexia and bulimia. Please don't say – just eat there are people starving in other countries b/c it isn't about that. Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental health illness in the world. I've been suffering since I was 14 and now I am 27 and still suffering. I feel so worthless, so ugly, fat, stupid and undeserving of love. I also have many medical issues – low heart rate, osteponia, liver issues b/c of my eating disorder. Please pray that G-d give me the strength to heal and beat this demon and be a healthy and thriving young woman. Please pray I see my worth and I can get medically healthy so I can someday be a wife and a mother.
Thank you – Shay.
Loving this post so much, I can't even express it!

Shay,
This post was MUCH needed! Our world is truly in turmoil and prayers are needed more than ever. I absolutely love visiting your site and seeing your children's smiling faces. They make my whole day. Ashby's health and your sweet family will be in my prayers.
Please keep my mom, uncle, and grandpa in your prayers, as well. My grandpa suffers from Alzheimer's and his witch of a wife has taken everything he has, while in turn, dumping him in an old age home where he has no business being. He's scared, confused, and angry all at once and he understands none of it. My mom and uncle go through taking turns visiting him and trying to keep him company every single day. Pray they can get something worked out and that God can hold all 3 of their hands through the difficulty that is Alzheimer's Disease.

Praying for your sweet family! I have a few prayer requests. My friends grandmother just had hip replacement surgery as a few complications arose. My husbands company just got bought out by another larger company- please pray that he and the others in his division can keep their jobs and positions. Also, I am helping my best friend raise his 2 beautiful boys. He is a single dad who is just having a rough time right now. Their mother has recently remarried and we feel in our hearts that she is making decisions that could potentially have bad consequences. Just please pray for the babies to be safe while in her care on her weekends. Thankyou all so much!

Sending prayers to you and your sweet family. Your blog has helped me so much recently. I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety and depression and I happened onto your blog a few months ago. You have such a beautiful, positive, shining spirit and although I don't know you in real life you have inspired me to be a better spouse, friend and mother. When I've been down or discourage or apathetic I've turned to your blog and it has helped me more than you will ever know. You've introduced me to so many things (fun and frivolous like nail polish and shoes and also more serious things like becoming more spiritual and living a happier life).
I feel guilty asking for prayer after reading through the hundreds of comments above but I felt drawn to check your blog this busy afternoon (I usually do first thing in the morning) but I felt I needed to make time to check it today and got emotional reading your post and comments. I live a very, very blessed life. But I really struggle with anxiety and I've been having some minor health issues lately and my anxiety is making them seem bigger and worse. The anxiety has gotten so bad I'm feeling depressed some days. So if there's a little room out there please include me…I will do the same. Thanks so much and thank you for such an amazing blog that has been so helpful. I have been tempted to comment before to ask if you ever get down and have bad days. Even through the trials of your sweet new daughter you seem so positive and optimist. I can only hope to live that way!

My husband and I have had adoption on our hearts for years and we have also struggled with infertility (I have a hard time even using that word). We believe God has a plan for our family and child and our kiddos to be. We've started researching adoption and are in the beginning stages of this process. It's a huge leap of faith, but I know when you you're given a God dream He will move mountains to bring it to fruition.
My heart is also heavy for our country right now. Our church has just completed a series on the end times. I pray people our truly ready for Jesus' return.

I just recently learned of your blog and have really enjoyed reading it. I hope to some day be able to read past posts to learn more about you and your beautiful family. Thank you for a wonderful idea. There can never be too many people praying for our country and for others that are going through a tough time.
I will be in prayer for Ashby for her contagious joy not to be robbed from her with her medical issues. I pray for her medical team to find answers soon and be able to help her little body to heal completely. I ask Him to give you and your family the peace and patience you need while you wait for these answers.
Prayers will go up for all the others asking for specific needs and for our country as we go through such difficult, dividing times.
Again, thanks for a great idea. May you continue to feel Him surrounding you at all times.

I would like to ask for prayers for my friend Todd and his family. He was paralyzed from the neck down in a freak body surfing accident last summer in Hawaii. While he has made good progress, and is so thankful to be alive, Todd has a very long road ahead of him, and ultimately may never walk or run again. He is an amazing, positive person who trusts fully in God and his plan, but I know he would appreciate all prayers!

Hii Shay. What a wonderful idea this is, to pray for others. My prayer request is "different". It's for my dear dog Ann, who is scared of loud pops and noises, and it's the Fourth of July holiday weekend coming up. It's illegal for fireworks where I live, and especially with the California drought, but my neighbors have been setting them off for over a week, please pray for us to keep her calm, and for us to be a comfort to her. I know our dear Lord hears our prayers, no matter how big or small, because He loves us so much. Thank you.

My prayer request is for peace & joy in my heart & unwavering faith. I lost my 15 yr old niece who was like a daughter to me 2 years ago in a freak tragic auto accident. There are no words to describe the depth of grief & loss. There are so many times when I feel so very isolated & I pray for the strength to keep moving forward. I miss finding the joy in everyday life & want to recapture that & truly live again.
Thank you for your prayers! Blessings to all.

Shay, I urge you to contact Dr. Milton Waner at the Vascular Birthmark Institute in New York. He practically performs miracles on children with hemangiomas and vascular malformations. We live in North Carolina and traveled to Little Rock, AR for him to treat my daughter who is now 16 years old. He moved to New York about 12 years ago and we traveled there for surgery. We went to many doctors for different opinions and even had a terrible experience with one here in NC. I hope you have found NOVA, National Organization for Vascular Anomolies and contacted them. They have conferences to gather doctors who see children who have VA and give their opinions on what options to pursue for treatment. They can direct you to doctors in your area and give you treatment advice. As we found, doctors who are wonderful don't always have experience with treatment for VA's. Prayers as you seek the best treatment to keep Ashby healthy and happy.

This is so sweet, Shay. Thank you for doing this for us. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers for a while now and I continue to pray for you. My prayer request is simple, please pray that I find my way in life. I worked as a news TV producer for a year and a half, but hated my job. I ended up quitting in February and have yet to find a new job. While I am lucky enough to still live with my parents, it's time that I find my place in this world. Please pray that God guide and direct me to where I am supposed to be. Thank you again and sending you and your family lots of prayer and love.

My mom's appendix ruptured earlier this month. Her recovery has been really hard for her. At her post-op appointment, the doctor told us her path reports showed cancer. We had never even heard of cancer of the appendix. She's a tiny lady and must put some more weight on before she goes back in for surgery to have part of her colon removed. Then they will send her to an oncologist to look for the cancer that may have spread when her appendix ruptured in her other organs or lymph nodes. There is no good time for anything like this to happen, but I am moving 14 hours away on Monday. It's been a really dark summer for my whole family. Praying for good news, a speedy recovery, and a happier ending to our summer!!
Also- big prayer for your sweet Ashby. It has been amazing watching her transformation from January until now. Praying for answers from the doctors and a clear solution for what's next regarding her health! Thanks for allowing us to have a glimpse into your life each day!

Shay, I love reading your blog! Every day I am so excited to see the inspirational messages, personal experiences, and amazing recipes you have to share. This is the first time I have really felt the need to comment. Prayer is something I have certainly been struggling with as things have gotten difficult these past few months, when what I really need is to pray now more than ever.
Starting with you tomorrow I hope to change this. I will pray for your sweet little Ashby's health and for your entire family as you go through this journey. I hope you can pray for my dad, the most incredible man, who has been struggling with substance abuse for the past ten years. He is truly an inspiration and continues to fight to overcome his addiction. I hope we can pray together that God gives him the strength he needs to get through these next few months that he will be spending in a long-term rebabilitation program. It is so hard being away from him, we have such a special relationship and it breaks my heart to see him struggle so terribly with something so many of us often take for granted: happiness and peace.
This is such a positive thing that you are doing and spreading on to others. Thank you so much!

Good Evening Shay ~ I don't always get a chance to read your blog, but when I do I take in every word and am always blessed by how the Lord uses you to speak to me. I will be praying for your sweet Ashby she is such a beautiful little girl and I know that God hand picked her for your family. I will pray that God gives the Dr's direction and wisdom to find your sweet girl a treatment plan. I hardly ever ask for prayer for myself, but I was nudged by the Lord to add my prayer request to your comments. In the last 6 months I have buried both my Mother and Father. It has been the hardest 6 months of my life, after they both passed I was informed by my husband that we were in serious financial trouble and then I got really sick. I have had pneumonia twice in the last 3 years and now I have another lung infection. There is never a good time to be sick, but this is a really bad time for my little family for me to be sick. I am asking that you would pray for my health and that the Lord would restore me to perfect health. My family needs me and I haven't been any help to them in over a month. Thank you so much Shay and blessings and prayers for your sweet family as well as those who need prayer in your comment section. Thank you so much !!!!

Praying for Ashby and all of you. Also praying for her doctors as they figure out the best treatment plan for her. I don't normally comment but I just want to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog. I'm also a mom of three and I love seeing all of your posts. My prayer request is for my dad and our family. My dad has had 10 years of medical issues. He's a pastor and has continued to preach through them all. He's almost gone blind, had kidney failure that required him to take dialysis three times a week, two below the knee amputations, kidney transplant and then last October our hearts were crushed when he was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Hormone treatment was going well and we were hopeful. A couple of weeks ago dad began to experience horrible pain. His levels were rising again and it became apparent they were not working. Earlier this week after two hospital stays the doctors concluded that the cancer had spread to his neck and other areas. It is also in his lymph nodes. They said there was nothing they could do and the next step was hospice. So now my dad has entered hospice care and we have began a very hard journey. He is so strong and tells us to stay strong. But as I leave his house every other day I find myself losing it because each time I can see my dad slipping away. My heart hurts and I find myself feeling so sad about all of this. Please pray that as the pain increases, the nurses will be able to control it. Pray for peace and comfort. Thank you for posting this.

Hi Shay, last July my best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. She was 26. She has fought this with so much strength and courage, through chemo treatments and 2 huge surgeries. A prayer for Becca and her family would be so appreciated in this time, as we hope that this fight is coming to an end (as a victory).

After being in relationship with him for 3 years, he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. Thank you so much for this post, Shay! I know you have a lot of people praying for Ashby and your family. I have 3 prayer requests. The first is for my mom as she goes into surgery this morning to remove the cancer in her breasts. Also, for myself and my husband as we are in the middle of our 2ww for our 2nd round of IVF. Please pray that I become pregnant, and if it's God's will, that both embryos make it and we are blessed with twins. I also need prayers for our Black lab, Tyson. He was recently diagnosed with a heart tumor that cannot be removed and his health has been a roller coaster the past 2 weeks. He is our baby and we are going to miss him so much when he's gone, so please pray for peace.

Will keep sweet Ashby in my prayers. Please pray for my family, as I have two young children and have rheumatoid arthritis. It is not getting any better and I find it overwhelmingly difficult sometimes
to take care of them and be as present with them as I would like. I feel a lot of guilt even though I know I can't control it. Thank you for this.

Praying for sweet Ashby and her doctors. Praying for complete healing and for wisdom for the doctors. My prayer request is for my elderly mom. Last week she had a stroke and they found two new tumors on her brain. She was sent to our house with hospice. Please pray for mom and her comfort and strength for us as we care for her. My verse I have been praying is this: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7 Thanks so much for praying.

Shay, this came at the perfect time. Please pray that God will get me through this rough time with the love of my life, my boyfriend. He is having reservations and it hurts so bad to think about losing my best friend. Please give me strength to know that I can make it through what is supposed to happen. I imagined spending forever with him and it's so hard to think about not being with him. But as you said to me, I need to be with someone who has no doubts at all. I will be praying for you and your sweet family. Thank you!

Praying for Ashby and a clear direction for the doctors to take treatment. I pray they can have a plan of action that God himself lays in their lap.
I'd pray for my husband. We live in Tennessee and drives weekly to Kansas where his home office is. His job is great, he has such wonderful favor and he's quickly climbing the corporate ladder, but he's worn out. We remain in Tennessee because my FIL is disabled from a car accident 10 years ago and lives next door. I also have a severely disabled daughter with Angelman Syndrome that is exhausting daily in itself, so packing up and leaving her specialist would be difficult. We also have 3 other children. We all miss him dearly. I know he sacrifices for us, but his health, stress level, lack of sleep and eating are becoming sacrificed too. I can see the toll it's taking.
Thank you so much for opening this up. I see so many who need prayer!

I hope this isn't a double post, if so I apoligze!
I thank God every day for my life. I am SO blessed. I have grown up in the most loving family. My parents had the most loving marriage, true soulmates, and always put us first. My mom was diagnosed with a rare cancer and they continued to live their life of traveling, entertaining, and the day to day simple things. Unfortunately my mom passed away in January 2011. My dad has always been wonderful but stepped into a motherly role recently helping my sister and I plan our weddings and being a nana and a pop to my nieces and nephews. My sister had been struggling to get pregnant and was starting the process of IVF. At the same time of her first round, I got pregnant naturally. I felt horrible. Just 12 weeks later and her second round of IVF my sister got pregnant with TWINS. I was ecstatic. I was finally able to be happy. My sister and I were having our babies at the same time. While missing my mom terribly, things had really fallen into place. Unforutantely I came back to Ohio from NC last Thursday and my dad told us he had lung cancer. He has a series of tests this week. I am praying the cancer will be localized and removed witha surgery rather than taking the route of chemo. I pray for my dad. I pray for my family. I pray for our strength, I hate that he has already started this process alone afraid of scaring us at such a happy time in our life. I pray for my sister and her continued healthy pregnancy. I pray for my husband and our marriage as much of our time will be spent seperated so I can help out while I can. Thank you, Shay. You are an inspiration!

Praying for sweet Ashby! God placed her right where she needs to be that's for sure. I ask that you pray for my Grandfather. He is struggling with bone cancer, he wasn't one of those old grandfathers who sat in a chair all day either. He was extremely active and lively, then one day he woke up with leg pains, after a month or two of doctor appts they said it was cancer. I ask you to pray for him to stay strong and positive. I ask you for God to heal him from his pain. I also ask you to ease the worry and anxiety the rest of my family is going through. We are trying to stay positive for him but some days it's very hard. He has always been the rock for my family so it's so hard to see him down.
I will pray that God answers everyone else's prayer requests. We serve an almighty God!

Please pray for mom. We lost my father about 5 years ago so she stays by herself. She has several health issues among being over weight and sever diabetes. She fell off of her bed back in January and gashed up her foot pretty bad and it is not healing. Please pray for the healing of her foot. Diabetes is very serious and now it may affect her limbs.
Also prayers for our country and the decision the Supreme Court made last week.
Prayers for you today and blessings!

This is my favorite post to date! The POWER of PRAYER…there is nothing more powerful we can share with one another and what an amazing group to pray for! My prayer request is for all those struggling with infertility. My husband and I have been struggling for three years now, and each day is harder than the last. My heart aches for all of you facing the same struggle. There is a reason for everything, we just need to stick together and pray to find those reasons! I also pray for all of you with children or those that are expecting. You have been blessed with one of God's greatest gifts. May all of your 'littles' be healthy and happy!

Praying for sweet Ashby! My prayer request is for my mom, Rene'. The enemy has really attacked her with her health. She tore her meniscus in her knee and rotator cuff in her shoulder after she prevented an elderly woman from falling along with turning bed ridden residents ( she owns an elder care home) in the midst of this they discovered her thyroid had shrunk, leaving her w a laundry list of symptoms. They are speaking over her that it may not come back. But I'm not receiving that! God is BIGGER!

I need prayer for my health. My seizure disorder has become out of control in the past couple of months and doctors can't figure out how to make it slow back down. I live in NYC now and it's dangerous for me to be out and about and risk hurting myself (again – I fractured my wrist on Thursday), but I have a history of depression and staying cooped up in my apartment all the time is not good for me, either. There have been lots of other smaller health issues going on, too. As physically exhausting as the seizures are, it's absolutely killing me mentally and emotionally. If God won't bring healing, It feels like every day is a battle to just keep my head above the water. I keep praying for the same things (healing or peace), all of my friends (who love me and would do anything to help me) keep praying for the same things, and nothing changes. I'm struggling with how to reconcile what I know to be true about God with what those truths mean when my life looks the way it does now. It feels like God has abandoned me, even though I know that's not really true. I'm just so very tired, and angry, and frustrated, and sad, and I don't want to be those things anymore. I just turned 23 a couple weeks ago, I want to live the abundant life that God has for me, but I'm in survival mode and I'm so tired.

Sometimes I tear up thinking about how this (your life) is exactly what I want….a God centered marriage with love and happiness!

I'm so afraid. My little grandson, Parker who is 3 has a severe life threatening allergy to tree nuts.
By the grace of God we found this out by accident while having him tested for a milk allergy a year ago. Thankfully, the doctor ran other foods for testing as well. Milk was fine…tree nuts, very high, severe.
I take care of him daily for my daughter who is a teacher. I have no idea why so many children now have this threat in their lives and I pray for them. The daily struggle to keep them safe is overwhelming at times. I don't ever want to fail Parker and I thank those others that are aware of his issue and watch out for him as well.
I'm afraid to let him out of my sight. I do treasure every single moment I have with him as his issue reminds me to. He is loved and I know he knows it. Ashby is loved and she knows and feels it too. You are giving her everything she needs. My prayer is for all children to be loved, safe, and healthy. Amen.

My prayer request is for strength and guidance. For God to reveal to my husband and I where He wants us to serve and raise our children. Mine and my husbands jobs have both been really challenging. We are trying to press through but wondering if God has something else in store for us. There is a lot going on and I feel really confused and uneasy. We are also struggling with deciding where to send our children to school this year or next year. A lot is happening at there small Christian school and wondering if it's our time to leave but unsure about public school. We live in CA and flew out to TX to check it out. We fell in love with the McKinney area and the 2 churches we visited were amazing. We could see ourselves involved with both but praying for God to open doors for us to move or reveal to us where he wants us to be. We are content staying where we are too but just praying for strength and guidance in our workplace. Thank you for your prayers and I am thankful for your blog it is a highlight of my day and I'm praying for sweet Ashby and your family!

Praying for your lovely girl, Ashby. 🙂 I'm also praying for my mom. She's been experiencing some heart problems (irregular heart beats, palpitations, and night sweats) lately and has had a string of appointments with her cardiologist. She's 55 years old. Her job is very demanding, emotionally and physically. She's the charged nurse in the oncology department, so she's got a lot on her shoulders. For myself, I'm praying for a smooth delivery and healthy baby. I'm currently 6 months pregnant with our fourth baby, so I'm praying to have God's patience and love to nurture and teach each of my kids equally. We are also looking for a new house, which is stressful. Southern California homes are super expensive! Haha. I pray for God's perfect provision for us. Thank you so much for opening up this prayer "forum." It's a huge blessing. :))

Love love love this post and all of the comments that have followed. I too will be praying for sweet Ashby and the rest of your family in this time of uncertainty for you. I'll pray for the doctors and for clarity. I'll also be praying for the others who have commented as well as others who may have prayer requests, but are not in a position to ask for help.
My prayer request, like many others here, involves my infertility struggles. After 3 years of trying, we finally got pregnant on our 3rd round of IUI only to find out a few days later that it was likely a chemical pregnancy. I still haven't miscarried and now our fears are that it could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy. I just pray that if our baby can't make it, that I miscarry naturally. If I don't, I'll need to take a drug that will terminate the pregnancy as it could turn into a life threatening situation for me. I pray that we're able to get through this scary time and continue trying to one day get our miracle baby.
Thank you so much for posting about this Shay. You'll truly change lives.

I'll most definitely be praying for sweet Ashby and your family… God will definitely look out for y'all considering all these offerings of prayer I the comments!
I do have a prayer request though. I'm seventeen years old and a rising senior in high school, and just about a month ago my friend got into a very serious car accident while he was driving alone late at night in a rainstorm. He was in a coma for the majority of the last month, and is just in the past few days waking up in the sense that his eyes are open, but he's unresponsive and not his old, caring, sweet, funny, loving self that I was so close with. I know that God is looking out for him and his family, but every prayer counts and j truly admire your closeness to God as shown on your social media. So if you wouldn't mind praying for my friend, his family, and all of us who are suffering as a result of this accident as we all realize how dangerous something as simple as driving to and from somewhere really is.
Thank you so much, and you have inspired me to pray more. Blessings!

This could not have come at a better time. Thank you so much for doing this. My Grandaddy is going into hospice today. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Easter Sunday, and it has been so hard to see him digress so quickly. He is the most godly man I know and is a huge part of my life. I am getting married on July 11, and the doctors expect that he will pass sometime around the wedding. I want to be joyful on my wedding day and the days leading up to it and during the honeymoon, but it will be so difficult with all the sorrow in mine and my family's hearts. Please pray for peace and comfort in the assurance that God's timing is perfect and that he will soon receive my Grandaddy in glory.

Hi Shay! This post just brought me to tears. I love the idea that people can get together and just pray for each other. As believers, this is what we should be doing for one another. Many times we forget the power of prayer and this is such a special time where we can come together as brothers and sisters in Christ to talk to Him. I will continue to pray that the Lord's will be done for your family and Ashby's condition. I know my request may not be as serious as what others are going through but I am a junior in college and I am struggling with what direction God wants me to go with my career. I am doing an internship right now for the summer and I am really struggling with it. I'm not sure if this is where God wants me to be. The environment is not the best and I am constantly anxious whenever I go (As I often have to deal with my anxiety). Please pray that I have peace over this situation and that God reveals what he wants me to do in this situation. Thank you so much!

This is such a fantastic idea. I enjoy your blog tremendously and will keep your family and Ashby in my prayers. I know God has a plan for her, even if it doesn't make sense right now. I also keep telling myself this, but it's so hard. My husband was diagnosed with a degenerative nerve disease that is taking the use of his forearms/hands. He has a nurse come to the house to give him IVIG treatments every other week, but we haven't seen any change in the past 6 months. I selfishly want him to teach be able to teach our one year old son/4 year old daughter to throw a ball and enjoy life for a few more years.

Thank you. I will be praying over this list and also for sweet Ashby. I would love two prayer requests, that are related: My husband and I got married last year and I'm now 35. I REALLY want to start trying for kids and feeling like we shouldn't put it off in case it takes us some time – we already had to put it off because of a serious injury I had after our wedding last year. But now he is feeling very stressed at work and wants to wait until he feels more secure. My prayer requests are that 1) he would feel ready (and be ready) to start trying for a child soon and 2) that his small business would grow or he would find work that makes him happy and more secure. Thank you for the prayers – they are very much appreciated. I have dreamed of having a family for so long – the person I loved in college passed away while I was in graduate school and then I didn't meet my husband until I was almost 30 so I already feel like I'm older than I planned – I know it isn't based on when *we * are ready but I don't want to wait too late and not be able to have kids 🙁 Thank you for the prayers! I'll be praying for so many of you and know you are all facing such tough situations!!!

One of my friends sister named Kayla Perry was diagnosed about a year and a half ago with a type of neroblastoma cancer. She is the oldest known case of this particular type of cancer out there (it is normally only found in children under 5 and she's 20!). She has indured many many different treatments and they aren't working as well as hoped. She also just had a brain tumor removed but they recently found out they didn't get all of it out. Her insurance company isn't cooperating either right now so her treatment is having to be pushed back. She knows that her treatments are just trial and error at this point because her doctors aren't really sure what to do since they haven't ever seen it in someone as old as her. Please pray that her insurance company starts to cooperate so she can go forward with treatments and just pray that the Lord with touch her body and heal her. She also started something called Open Hands Overflowing Hearts (OHOH) which is raising money for pediatric cancer research so if anyone feels the call to donate that would help a lot. Thanks in advance!

My prayer request is for my husband and I. About two months ago he told me he wasn't happy and wanted to seek divorce. We are trying to work things out. However, at this point we need a miracle!!! Thank you so much for this post!!! I believe in the power of prayer and really need God's guidance during this very difficult time. Pray my husband's heart is softened and he is drawn back to the kids and I.

Praying for sweet Ashby, and for you and your husband as you consider the options available for her.
I'm embarrassed to put this out there, but since I could really use prayers: My husband repeatedly committed adultery during my last pregnancy and decided to pursue a divorce before my baby was born. Since then, my life has been falling into complete disaster, especially financially (I was blessed to be a stay at home mom before he left and now struggle to support us). Prayers for the emotional health of my children and improving financial health would be greatly appreciated. I am so scared that we are going to lose everything and I can't even afford the fees to file for bankruptcy.

Hi Shay! I'm praying for your sweet Ashby, I know we love and serve a God who has the power to heal, and don't forget that nothing is impossible with him! I also have a huge heart for orphan children and what started with a one time visit to Ghana at the age of 16 has now evolved into a non-profit building a HOME for orphaned children.(I'm 21 now) We now need prayer for selecting the foster parents, and knowing they are God fearing people that will love on these children. I also pray everyday for these children that will be off the streets and placed into our home with a family, food and school to attend! Praying for their safety right now is huge as well! What a great idea this is! I have been following you for a few years now and you truly are an inspiration to other Mamas. I have always had a hard time asking others to think of me or pray for me but right now I need it more than ever. I am facing what could be some very serious health issues and I am terrified. I have two small boys ages 5 and 1 and thinking of them growing up without a Mama rips my heart apart.
I too will pray for your sweet Ashby as well as for those who are too afraid to ask.

Praying for your sweet girl and for the doctors that care for her. It has been a blessing to watch her blossom in your family. Please say a prayer for my husband and I. We have a beautiful four year old daughter. We have been struggling with secondary infertility for 3 years. We just experienced our second miscarraige at the beginning of the month. It was so heartbreaking to see a heartbeat one week, and it be gone the next week. I would love to give my daughter a sibling on this earth, but I'm thankful she will have a big family in Heaven. Thank you for the prayers, Shay!

Thank you for reading my prayer request. Please pray for my dear sweet angel best friend Meredith. Meredith lost her husband on Jan 4th of this year after a TERRIBLE battle with cancer. He was 37 years old and left behind sweet Meredith and their two daughters, Anna (8) and Jane (5). The entire last year of his cancer battle was brutal and Meredith was caregiver, encourager, spiritual leader, dietican, and rock of support for Mike…but add to that an amazing mommy to two little girls trying to maintain a sense of "normal." Meredith is a steadfast believer in the Lord and abides in His word daily, finding just enough strength to get through each day, but things are just hard and messy. Grieving a partner and best friend, being a single mommy, and add to that trying to guide your children (alone), through the most painful and confusing event in their lives. Meredith is an angel on earth but is (understandably) struggling. Can you please pray for wisdom, strength and HOPE for Meredith? She knows God has abundance ahead of her, but right now its just a flat out difficult time.
Pictures, info, etc can be found on http://www.thesextonsbigadventure.com – – Thank you and your readers so much for your prayers for this sweet, sweet, hurting family!

My prayer request is for God to make ends meet and provide a house for us. My husband and I got married last summer and got pregnant right away. We live in a one bedroom apartment and have been house hunting since we found out we were expecting. We never dreamt we'd bring our baby home to this apartment but we did and he'll be 3 months old next week. Needless to say we're getting a little crammed for space! The housing market is crazy where we live so we just haven't found the right house for us in our budget yet. Also I was planning on returning to work after my maternity leave but I just can't fathom leaving our sweet baby with some stranger at a daycare so my husband and I both feel at peace with me staying home with our son. Please pray that God would continue to provide for our family as He always does. Thank you!!

Love, LOVE this idea! 🙂 You rock!
Prayers to Ashby.
And, please keep my husband in your prayers. He's been ill for almost 2 years and sometimes it feels like there is no end is sight. Doing 'normal' dinners out or movie nights would be a dream come true. Plus, we are trying to have a baby, so that adds more stress and frustration. Thank you so much!

Hi Shay, I absolutely love your blog and your family, it is so encouraging and informative. I absolutely loved this post. It reminds me of what a few friends of mine and I do each week by sharing prayer requests. It has helped us check in with each other and stay connected.
My prayer request is about the desire for marriage and a family that is weighing on my heart. I am two years out of a bad break up of a four year relationship that I fully believed would end in marriage. God has blessed me immeasurable since the break up and I have grown more than I could have imagined in my faith, but that desire to be married and hopefully raise a family has been growing. Since the break up I have become very discouraged with dating and have no idea if marriage is even in God's plan for me, which in and of itself terrifies me. I feel that some of my problem is seeking my worth and love from a relationship here on earth, but the desire for a Christ centered marriage is still burning in my heart. I would really appreciate if you could be praying for me to put my focus on God and not make an idol of marriage, but petition to God that it please be part of his plan for my life. Thank you! I will be praying for your family and the amazing comments and requests above!

Hi Shay,
I'm praying for ashby and your entire family everyday. It warms my heart that you will be praying for us too.
The day I left for college five years ago I found out my dad would be leaving our family and moving down south. It has not gotten any easier for me five years later. In fact it's harder now that I'm living back at home after college and he's no longer here. I pray that my dad is happy and I too somehow find a way to be happy.
Thank you again for thinking of us. I normally always comment with my name and not anonymous but this is something that has been hard for me to share.
Have a beautiful holiday weekend

I am sending my prayers up for the healthcare team that us taking care of Ashby. That the Lord can guide them in the right direction for miss Ashby.
I also request that you send a prayer up for my husband and me. Starting a family us a dream of ours. Today marks our 4 year wedding anniversary and also marks 3 years that we have tried to make this dream come true. Yesterday I had my 5th and final round of iui. If this does not work we will take some much needed time off and then move forward to IVF. I am a very optimistic person but am growing weary at this time. I feel that this may never be in the cards. I am a labor and delivery nurse and love what I do but am starting to find myself resenting my job when I have women who dont want their babies. The only tho g that keeps me going is being able to witness that miracle and have faith. One day that will be me I hope but I need some extra support right now. Thanks for all that you do. You are truly an inspiration to all. God bless you and your family!

Your little daughter will be in my prayers! Thank you so so so very much for doing this. It is the amazing people like you, doing your good deeds "behind the scenes", that really changes the world. Thank you. Your whole family is in my prayers.
My prayers for this week are:
• That my father does not lose his job. (He has health issues. We are praying that they do not get severe enough that he is deemed "useless" and layed off. He supports the entire very large family. My mama stays home with all the kiddos– who are still at home– where they are Homeschooled, and daddy works.)
• For our country and world, especially on this Independence Day.
• For all of the armed forces.
• For everyone who needs prayers.
I am praying for ya'll! Thank you so much, prayer warriors. You are truly changing the world! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Hi Shay, my name is Zoe, I happen to know a little fighter who, just like Ashby, has recently turned three. Little Rumer is battling cancer. Its terrible and cruel and she shouldnt be going through this. Her mother shouldnt have to watch her go through this. Rumer will be undergoing an intense treatment very soon. For her mum to see her in these kinds of states as she goes through chemo and all that is heartbreaking, for rumer to go through this is just horriable. Because of this new treatment, they just couldnt afford to live where they were currently staying, an apartment as they dont actually live in Brisbane as a result of that they will now be staying with me and my family. That still doesnt take stress off Sasha (Rumers mum) Sasha is going through alot of pain, worry and stress. She should not have to be stressing over money. I was hoping if you could maybe share this link as it would help alot and it would greatly appreciated. http://www.gofundme.com/rumer As well as that please keep Rumer in your prayers. She is an amazing girl who deserves to grow up. She deserves to live her life without cancer and just be a normal kid and then eventually a normal teenager and so on.
Thankyou – Zoe x
Ps: I love reading your blog, it makes my heart so full. I love hearing all about your kids and your wonderful stories. They are so blessed to have each other as well as having you and Andrew.

I will be praying for your darling Ashby. I think about your family often and the example that your family is of still having morals and raising your family with what is important. I ask for your prayers at this time. I live in Frisco and am a customer of your husbands. Last Thursday I was admitted to the hospital for complications with my first pregnancy. It took my husband and I a year to get pregnant ( Thank you clomid ) I am now on strict bed rest on the hospital until I deliver my baby. I am almost 34 weeks pregnant, and this could be a long road. But I have faith in God's grace and know I am in good hands. Thank you so much! I love reading your blog each day!

Ali Gadd is a 3 year old who is in her maintance phase of treatment.
Also pray for those mamas in waiting. I asked Shay to pray for me several years ago while deciding if I would pursue IVF. We had 3 IVFs and I'm currently rocking my 5 month old baby boy to sleep. God is so good & his timing is perfect!

Praying for you and your family! My son was born with a malformed left hand (a small thumb and pinkie with no middle fingers). I was so worried when he was a baby that his hand would limit his ability to do activities and that people would be mean and cruel to him. I definitely believe in prayer. We lost my grandpa in December 2013. In the middle of my Dad's own health issues. My Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer in April 2014. And he lost his very tough battle in March 2015. I was his primary caregiver. It was the toughest, but most rewarding thing I have ever done. Since, the days have been so long and tough. I've always believed in prayer. But in the last five years, it became so much stronger. These days, I know God is carrying me. Family is battling. And honestly, there is such a deep hole in my heart. But I know God will carry us through. And make us stronger. I just pray for peace of mind. And for my Momma. Shay your blog has been an inspiration. I read it during the toughest times. And it always made me hopeful. Your family, especially Ashby, is in my prayers. Please say a little prayer for my family and I. I know how every single prayer, makes us each so much stronger.

Shay, thank you so much for creating such a wonderful God-based community. It is so inspiring to get to connect with people through your blog and pray for one another-that's a pretty amazing thing! First and foremost I will definitely be praying for you and your sweet family-it is such a wonderful gift you have given little Ashby to welcome her into your family, and that is one blessed little girl to have your family's love.
Reading some of the prayer requests on here makes mine feel so insignificant, but I am a big believer in prayer warriors, and I would really love to be apart of that here. I am getting married next month and have been really struggling with my future mother in law. If you could please pray for my heart to soften towards her and to help me see her as Jesus does, I know that will be the first stepping stone to this relationship so I can let go of the resentment I feel towards her-which is something I hate feeling but sometimes it just creeps through!
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and love, and please know that I will be praying for all of you as well!!

My husband could sure use prayers. He has become disheartened because of some recent work and financial set backs. He is not a traditional believer and I pray for him to feel the actual presence of God with him and to feel the peace that comes with that. I pray for our upcoming evaluation with an autism specialist for my daughter, but more for the rigid behaviors that cause her to have trouble enjoying daily life. And I pray for friendship. I want a friend. That person who I just can text and feel as though they really want to hear what I have to say, without judgement or stings attached. I pray that I am a better mama of my babies and a strong leader for our family.

525. 525 beautiful prayer requests.
Along with so many others, I've been praying for your family and Ashby today with the MRI.
For me? I feel in a weird place in life. I'm 44 and "single never married". Since I was 12, I've dreamed of no other "job" than to be a wife and mother. As my peers' kids are teenagers and heading to college, it's a weird place. I still long to have a family. I long to stay home. But I'm called to work outside my home (what other choice is there?) and be content with the life I have. I've begged the Lord to take the desire away. He hasn't so I must choose contentment and trust Him with this. With this season comes lots of weirdness with my job. While I love it (I'm in full time ministry) I just wonder if there is something else I should be doing. So, pray I wouldn't not leave my First Love. I know He won't leave me. Heck, pray for a husband! 🙂 Thank you, Shay.

I was hesitant to post the first time for some reason but my prayer request is for discipline, confidence in Christ, and strength. I'm currently in my final year of graduate school, working on my dissertation, and I'm struggling with the paralyzing sense of inadequacy. I will absolutely add Ashby to my prayers.
My prayer request is for time. I have progressed from Stage I to Stage IV breast cancer over the last 10 months. I have a 10 and 12 year old daughter and my hearts desire is to see my youngest graduate high school. My cancer is incredibly aggressive and has been resistant to chemo, radiation and the surgeries I've had. If something doesn't work soon, my time will be short. Begging for 8 years before I travel home. Thank you to anyone who sees this and prays for my family.

Hi my name is Zoe and I'd like to ask for your prayers for my beautiful friend Rumer. Rumer is three years and currently fighting neuroblastoma cancer. She got diagnosed last Christmas eve and had to relocate from their home in Cairns to Brisbane, a few months of them coming to Brisbane, my sister babysat Rumer and fast forward a few more months, they're now currently living with us. Living with someone who has cancer you see all their good days and bad days and today was the worst day. Today they did some scans and we found out that her tumor has spread and the doctors then proceeded to tell Sasha to take Rumer home and they will contact her if they have a new treatment plan. I have never seen more tears from anyone in this house including myself. My heart breaks for Rumer and Sasha so please keep them in your thoughts. We will not give up hope and have been looking for treatment plans overseas (such as the usa) She is a happy, beautiful, caring, chatty, sweet three year old who deserves to live. I know this is a lot to ask but if you could please share her donation page it would mean so much https://www.gofundme.com/rumer if you would like to follow updates on Rumer you can check out her page here https://www.facebook.com/rumersrecovery/ Thankyou for reading. x

I didn't think I would have anything to leave in these comments but here I am with 2 requests. The first being for my grandmother who is 91 years young and the sweetest lady. Probably about 7 years ago she had a stroke but was able to recover with therapy. About 2 weeks ago she went into the hospital with pancreatitis and while there she suffered another pretty bad stroke where they found a blood clot on her brain. Please pray for healing for her and my grandfather who I know is breaking seeing her like this. Once we know more from the neurologist my grandfather and family will determine whether hospice is in the future. Please pray for her to get better with therapy in her own home. Secondly, my husband and I are struggling with deciding on keeping or giving our one dog to another loving home. He is a 4 year old high energy getman short haired pointer that we cant mansge to handle anymore. I have an11 month old daughter and my dog is more work than her. I know my anxiety is over the top from him and I hate bringing that negative energy in our home. I just want to know it will be okay if hes no longer with us and given to a family that can provide more attention that he deserves. I know its what needs done but yet it breaks my heart. Shay, I remember reading that you had somewhat of a similar situation, any advice? Please pray!

Hi Shay! I know this post is old but there has been one family that has been laying heavy on my hear for awhile now. An 8 year old boy, Jonny, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer December 26 of 2014 and died Christmas Eve. During his cancer treatments he shared some incredible testimonies and had some truly incredible spiritual experiences. His mother, Kimberly, shared updates on a Facebook page Project Team Jonny and would share frequent updates on Jonny's health and her faith. I really encourage you to check out her page because her faith and trust in God's plan throughout this incredibly hard time is so inspiring. This mama and her husband and son (Jonny's twin) could really use some extra prayers going their way.

Shay, I felt a sense of peace when I posted my prayer request on here just back in November and I'm back. Needless to say it's been a rough few months. When i posted my request last time is was for my grandmother to heal from the stroke she had at the age of 91. Sadly, in December she passed away. In just a month and a half later my grandfather (her husband) died from a massive heart attack at the age of 92. After 67 years married the doctors said he died from a broken heart. After his last brother who he was best friends with passed away about a year ago and then my grandmother we believe he wanted to be with them in heaven. As much as we are grieving here on earth without them we know they are so happy to all be together and pain free. Please pray for my family, esp my mom to heal both loses, especially so close together. Also, please pray for my Uncle who is a retired school teacher who never married and lived with my grandparents as their primary caregiver. Prayers for guidance to him and healing as he goes through this extremely difficult time.
