Hello there life lately.
First of all, I want to thank you guys for the prayers, love and words of encouragement yesterday. It was a long day. We met with 8 doctors at one time…so needless to say, that was kind of overwhelming. We really don’t know much more except that Ashby needs scans now that are even fancier than the MRI she had in May…so, we’re going to get those new scans scheduled (she’ll have to be put under again) and we’ll go from there. This is a marathon…not a sprint…so, we’re just taking things one mile at a time.
Other than that, things have been pretty laid-back around these parts…just enjoyin’ summer.
Three cuddly kids and an iPad movie.
I mean…she loves the water. Ashby is so happy, sweet and full of joy…until I tell her it’s time to stop swimming and dry off…and then, she throws a fit like nobody’s business! She looooves the water!
The goggles…think he’ll still wear them when he’s 17? #ladiesman
Kensington got a locket from her Lovie…and apparently, had to have a picture of someone she loves inside (says my mom).
That’s me :). I’m probably 5ish here. My girl and her locket.
Hey! I’m totally getting into my little garden! Every night, I go out and get stuff for dinner (or for breakfast the next day). Bell peppers, basil, tomato, jalapenos and banana peppers were ready for pickin’ on this day.
Father’s Day with my crew :). It was kind of rainy and yucky in the morning but by lunch, it cleared off enough for playing outside. Smith was so muddy that he had to have a shower right away (hence the pjs!). We played, Kensington and I went grocery shopping for Andrew’s special meal (he asked for shrimp) and then the kids set the table for him (candles and all!). After that…
…we piled into Andrew’s truck for snow cones. It was a cozy day to celebrate our favorite dad!
All smiles because she’s s-w-i-m-m-i-n-g!
Off the board he goes!
Strike a pose while popsicle making…
…these two are such a mess :).
Oh goodness! Grace (the new American Girl doll) reigns supreme at our house. We don’t have the doll yet, but we have the movie and all three of my kids love it. Look at those girls watching it…they are obsessed with the sweet New England girl who loves baking and visits Paris.
Cereal, blankets and snuggling with your big brother first thing in the morning.
On Tuesday, Ashby and I spent the morning in Dallas dealing with a doctor appointment and her compression garment. It was all kinds of yucky…but before we left to drive home, we stopped at Starbucks and enjoyed a little lunch on the patio. And this…made the whole day worthwhile. We talked and laughed and ate and had the best 30 minutes outside on that patio together. I love one on one time with my girly.
Happy hour.
Meanwhile…
…Ashby was snorkeling. This kid!
That’s life lately!
For dinner tonight…
xoxo

Thankful Ashby is a fan of the water. Otherwise-she would have had a really long summer!! I don't know how you tell her no! I'd let her swim 24/7. 🙂

I love that your garden is flourishing so much, I can't wait to be able to pick from mine for dinner! so cool! I was so terrified of water as a child, I love that Ashby just loves it. It will make her life much easier growing up!

I will continue to pray for sweet Ashby & clarity for the doctors to give her the very best treatment possible.
Think back just two months and all the anxiety about swimming. Little fishy Ashby definitely put that to rest! 😉

Love the garden-y harvest! If you just snip the biggest basil leaves (and leave the rest), it'll keep producing indefinitely. Which, when you love basil like I do, is a definite perk!

Where can I find the recipe for the shrimp risotto you made on father's day?

When you make your daily latte do you use milk & a splash of cream or just milk? 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Either one. Either 2% or half and half.
Melissa says
So much fun…all of it (except the compression garment but since that ended in SB it seems redeemed as well).
I hope the Birthday Bunny is bringing Grace to Kensington 😉
