Okay…you ladies know how much I love this…
I mean…my life is in this book.
I must look through, write in, check off and mark through things in this planner at least two dozen times a day. It’s my world.
Well, my friends at Erin Condren asked me if I was having a party this December and if so, could they create some things for it. And I was like, um, heck yeah!
Christmas Eve 2014
Every other year, we do Christmas Eve differently around here.
Every other year, Andrew’s parents come into town and we spend the holiday with them. Since they’re not from our area, they like to make the quick little drive down to Dallas, eat dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and drive through Highland Park to see the lights before returning to our house and tucking the kids into bed. That’s our tradition every other year with Andrew’s parents.
A car selfie with my mother-in-law last Christmas Eve as we headed down to Dallas for dinner.
On the other years, we spend Christmas with my family. Since all of my family lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we always celebrate at someone’s house…
…a flurry of excitement on Christmas Eve 2013 at my mama’s house…
…building our gingerbread houses that night.
Well, this year, is a year spent with my side of the family and we’ve been asked to host for the first time. All of my peeps will drive up to McKinney for Christmas Eve, some will stay the night and others will return home that evening. I’m super pumped about having my family here this year!
So, when Erin Condren asked if they could help with some of the fun paper stuff, I couldn’t say “yes, please!” fast enough. I told them what I was doing and look what they created…
So much fun, right?!?!
A gift wrap book to create stickers and tags for gifts.
I’ve been using these stickers for years and years for food I deliver to people’s houses (mine say Made with love for you by Mix and Match Mama), and now, I have Christmas labels too! Whether I’m wrapping up loaves of bread to pass out to neighbors, Reindeer Food or sending home leftovers with my guests, I can wrap it up in foil or saran wrap and stick a label on there.
And pssssst…if you don’t know what my Reindeer Food is…
…here is an edible version for you, your family and your friends and then bonus…
…a cute little version for you to leave out for the reindeer when they stop at your house on Christmas Eve night :).
We decided this year to make our Christmas Eve party an Appetizer Party. Didn’t they create some really cute invites to send out to my family?! Everyone will bring something savory and something sweet for our appetizer supper. I don’t know about you…but I loooove making a meal out of appetizers and dips.
Erin Condren also made me corresponding return address labels, but you know…I didn’t want to put my address out here :). They look like this though…
I use these spiral notebooks every single day when I write recipes. I’m going to use this one when I create Christmas recipes this year. It’s just a blank notebook, so you could also keep a running list of Christmas presents, your to-do list…whatever you want!
Sometimes when I show you guys my monthly goals, I use either one of my note cards (above) or the notepads (below). The note cards are great for writing thank you notes! You get to pick the color envelope that comes with them. They sent me pink. #iheartpink
And I don’t know about you…but I can’t enough enough pads of paper this time of year.
Lists.
Lists.
Lists.
More lists.
File folders. #ilove
This is where I’ll keep receipts from all of those gifts I’m buying.
And then finally, look at these cute paper placemats they created! Won’t our appetizers taste even better when served on a plate on top of this happiness?!?!
So, I know it’s only November 18…but I’m already ready to host my Christmas Eve party!
Speaking of things I’ll serve on Christmas Eve…
…today on my foodie blog, I’m sharing my favorite pie recipes.
It’s pie season friends! If you need a simple (and yummy!) Thanksgiving pie (or Christmas pie!), then you need to see my Pie oh My!
And just for grins, since we’re talking Christmas Eve…here are a few pics from Christmas…

Such precious flashback pics! Our Christmas Eve traditions vary based on which country we live in, but for the past three years we went to church for a carol service and then hosted a party at our house afterward. I'm searching for something special this year in America. We'll have both sets of grandparents, but no cousins. I need a brainstorming sesh asap!

Question for you. And I know that this is on the wrong post but I was looking through your gift ideas and was reminded of when you were in China and you wore your North Face coat. Well, I'm going to Europe in January and every time I have been there, it was Spring or Summer. So my question for you is, what is a good shoe to wear when traveling and the weather is cold??
Staci says
Omg, Shay. I know you talk about Erin Condren products all the time and I never put 2 and 2 together that your adorable notepads (with all your names on them) are from her! You are always so on top of it and ahead of everything! I need to get some of this cute, colorful, organizational stuff!

Great stuff! I'm a big handwritten list maker too. There's just something about writing it all out and crossing it off that is so satisfying. I'm going to have to order some of those stickers for my personal chef business. So much cuter than plain labels with a sharpie. I just might have shown up for Christmas Eve if your address had been shown- I mean YUM and FUN! 😉
Carolyn says
would love if it you did a shopping list for what your kiddos are getting (or asking Santa for) this year for Christmas!

LOVE Erin Condren too! I actually just got my new planner in the mail and I chose the design that you have (but in the horizontal layout this year!). I love having all my family photos on the front of my planner 🙂
