Things that are: COZY!


So, today, I thought I’d talk about one of my very favorite words. Cozy.
(For the record, my very favorite word is hope…but cozy is a close second.)
(And my favorite phrase is the Boston Red Sox have just won the World Series…but I digress…)
Between now and March, it’s all about cozy in my little world.  My mama taught me a lot of great lessons growing up, but one of my favorite lessons is that you need to make your space cozy.  Light a candle, put on fuzzy socks, grab a stack of books, a cup of coffee and be cozy.
Here are a few things making my world cozy right now…
…two cozy things in one picture.  Um, the red cup.  Yes.  Coffee just tastes better in a red cup.  And my sweatshirt.  I big puffy heart love my sweatshirt!  It’s so soft…and cozy ;).
I posted this pic of Kensington last week and have received a plethora of emails about it!  The bean bag chair is super cozy!  Santa brought them for my kids last Christmas…but if you can’t make it to the North Pole, Pottery Barn Teen has them too ;).
I mean…my leggings and my Uggs.  I’ve said this before…but if I’m at home longer than 30 minutes, my comfy pants go on and my house shoes or fuzzy socks do too.
Hey there first thing in the morning.  I told you guys the other day that I always work with a blanket in my lap (I’m constantly one second away from becoming a Golden Girl)…well, I found this blanket at Target this week.  Um, yes.  Now, when I have my old lady blanket on, at least it’s festive!

I need a minute.
I mean…I can’t even.
Between now and Christmas Day, it’s Michael Buble’s holiday station on my Pandora around my house.  If you haven’t listened to this station yet, I highly recommend it!  It’s the best of Christmas on one station.
I heart Michael Buble.
You know that…but it bears repeating.
True story…the other day, Andrew told me that he didn’t know Bath and Body Works had opened a new store…at our house. #obsessed #noshame
I know people are passionate about their candles…and I am too!  My very favorite are the fall and holiday scents from Bath and Body Works.  I mean…if you want to actually smell the word cozy, light one of these babies up :).

Ahhhh…my last piece of the cozy puzzle…these jammies.  I loved them last year and still love them this year.  I’m wearing them in this pic and in the blanket pic above.  I bought three pairs last year, so I don’t have any of the current patterns…but friends, they’re divine.  Like DIVINE.  Like buy a pair for yourself and four pairs to give to friends and family for Christmas.  If my kids wouldn’t get embarrassed, I would wear them 24/7.

    Oh, I love cozy!! I'm ordering the PJs ASAP. Are the pants long? I'm 5'3" and sometimes have to hem pants……..even pjs. I may need to throw the Uggs in my cart too!

    I love the pajamas. One question–are they super heavy? Meaning does it have to be really cold for you to be able to wear them?

      Ive tried these….they are a fleece fabric, similar in weight to fleece fabric you would buy at Joann's. (but the pjs are higher quality and not pill-prone) anyway, maybe that tidbit helps to conceptualize if you'd be hot in fleece like that. So, no, not SUPER heavy, but they are definitely warm and winter appropriate. i personally would be too hot for them in seasons other than winter, but that is just me.
      also, last year, at the tip of one of Sheaffer's commenters, I found a pair of very very similar pjs at Target- on clearance after Christmas for $7.50! I was thrilled, and I actually loved those pair waaaaay more than the Nordstrom pair. I feel like they looked better on me. However, I'm sure the quality is not as good because with washing and drying, that fabric starts to loose its amazing-starting-softness-quality, haha. Even full price at Target at the beginning of the season was reasonable. maybe this helps :))

    I love those PJs …I didn't end up ordering any last year and this year I feel like the size of a school bus (thanks to my little bundle of joy on the way…) so they will have to wait until next year!

    We have recently adopted my 3 year old's word for comfy clothes – "comfy cozies". There is nothing better than coming home from a busy day and putting on your comfy cozies. 🙂

    I agree with the Bath and Body Works fall and winter candles. I'm currently burning the Caramel Pumpkin Swirl and have already ordered some Frosted Cranberry ones.

    I love nothing more than being cozy. I agree with all of your cozy necessities– candles, soothing music, comfy clothes, something warm to drink… Curling up wth a movie or good book… Nothing better! I'd add one– lighting! Twinkle lights or soft lamp light are cozy necessities to me. Overhead lighting can kill the cozy like WHOA.

    Love reading the blog! I am a candle and music person too! Love making the house feel warm. My favorite from bath and body (because it's also my fall candle smell go-to) was Sweater Weather! I bought 4 big ones and also gave them to teachers and neighbors as a fall gift attached with a fall handsoap. Love that I have my all time favorite candle on back up u till I use my winter scents. Will have to Check out the red Jammie's, they look very comfy.
    If you haven't tried sweater weather it's a must! 🙂

    We speak the same language! LOVED this post… per usual. Sitting on our love seat under a soft blanket, enjoying morning snuggles with my four-year-old right now… Can't wait to have a house with a fireplace someday. I don't think I'll ever do anything again besides sit cozy in front of it.

    Best post ever on this Veteran's Day off! Shay you have to check out Luminara candles, they are fake but flicker and smell like real candles. Best part they have a remote which make it easy to turn on and off- but because they are fake you don't have to 🙂 batteries last forever! They are one of my favorites to making my home cozy

    Now that it is getting darker earlier, I am all about, "cozy. The PJ's, house shoes, blankets on cold nights, love this post. My favorite word is hope also. My son was a patient for 11 months at Children's Hospital. He had brain cancer. That word was written and hung all over his room. Sadly, our sweet boy went home to be with the Lord but I still hold on to hope that someday we will be together again. Love your blog and read it every morning. 🙂

    Oh Shay! I can't believe how similar we are!!!! Cozy is one of my favorite words and HOPE?! Yes. It's actually a tie between hope and faith. I never realized how much I love my faux fur blanket from Target…I write with it on my lap about every. single. morning. (Yes. even in the summer months, when the AC is cranked up) Pajamas, leggings, UGG slippers (I love the Dakota ones), soft socks…I heart all of it, too!

    I listened to that Pandora station this morning and it is perfection! I love that it is a blend of the newer and older music, from Mariah to Perry, and everything in between! Thanks for the suggestion! Another fun station is the "I Pray on Christmas" station!

    How do you think BBW candles compare when it comes to burning time? I have been getting Yankee candles, but I love the BBW "Leaves" scent and they are cheaper when they have their sale….I'm just afraid they'll burn so fast with the three wicks?
