It’s Valentine’s weekend!
Woohoo!
Tonight, the school’s family Valentine’s Dance and then tomorrow, we celebrate the Chinese New Year. Top all of that off with our annual family Valentine’s dinner on Sunday night and I’m going to go ahead and predict we have a great weekend!
Today, I’m linking up with Narci, Erika and Andrea and sharing some of my favorite things from this week.
Hope you guys have a weekend filled with love.
xoxo
On Monday, I thought my beloved Keurig was broken. Whenever it stops dripping or starts to drip slowly, I use white vinegar to descale it. Well…that didn’t work. So, I googled “how to fix a Keurig” and found this website with these directions. I handed the directions over to Andrew while I made dinner and bam! Fixed! You should pin this if you have a Keurig. Ours is now running as good as new!
Thank goodness for the internet :).
A sweet reader named Brittany sent me these pictures and absolutely MADE MY DAY!
Brittany gifted my Cakes books to her kids’ teachers for Valentine’s Day! Aren’t they so cute?!?! You can print off the tags right here…
These tags are all formatted to print 4×6. Just make sure your printer is on that setting.
And of course, you can find both Cakes and Meal Planner in stores or online :).
Thank you Brittany for sending me these pictures!
I mean…
…friends.
That’s a direct quote.
Sheaffer’s Bachelor recap post was extra hysterical this week. Y’all…if you don’t watch the Bachelor, you’ll still think it’s so funny!
Where else on TV do you get pigs, category 5 hurricane winds, uncontrollable sobbing, uncontrollable lying and Chris Harrison? The recap was one of my faves this week!
This week, I did What I Wore Wednesday…here’s a little peek…
To see all of the details from What I Wore Wednesday, click here.
Anyone else watching this? I just can’t look away! At first, I thought it might be cheesy (since it’s a reenactment of the actual events), but we have found it to be riveting. It took all of about three minutes to suck us in.
I’m recapping Valentine’s recipes from breakfast through dessert. Need something festive to make this weekend? Look no further! I have you covered!
Click here to see everything Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Weekend friends! I love you all!
xoxo

I am loving the OJ series, too! I feel like everyone in America is loving it right now haha! And I'm stopping by GAP today to see if they have those sweatshirts in stock. They look so comfortable and don't even look like a sweatshirt!

love this! I am planning to make your strawberry nutella pies this weekend! And OJ?! The Juice is Loose! I can't stop. I also can't stop googling crime scene photos & watching footage from the trial. I was in 8th grade & we watched the verdict in SCHOOL! #neverwouldhappennow Happy hearts weekend!

I am sucked into the OJ series which was a total surprise–thought I was long done with all things OJ. Never say never 🙂 If you want a similarly surprising but gripping read, I highly recommend Dominick Dunne's "Another City Not my Own". Dunne as a writer for Vanity Fair covered the OJ trial for the magazine and was in the court room for the entire trial. Another City Not My Own is a fictional account of OJ's story–you get the sense he made it 'fiction' so he could include all the juicy gossip, insider info, off the record asides that he was privy to. When the book came out years ago I was reluctant to read as I had OJ fatigue but was glad I succumbed–so good!

I love all of your outfit inspiration! Could you do an Easter outfit post for your whole family? And beforehand so it gives us time to copy 😉 Happy Friday to you!

Love this idea!

OJ…TOTALLY SUCKED IN! I remember watching this all unfold my Freshman year of college. We all sat in the commons are shocked. Acting is exceptional!
Melissa says
Watching OJ too and am totally hooked. My son's elementary school has a Chinese immersion program (1/2 day in Chinese based on a lottery system), so we have been celebrating the Chinese New Year-Year of the Monkey. Enjoy your fun filled weekend!

The People vs. OJ has totally sucked me in!! It is SO good!
Laura says
Happy Friday! I purchased 4 of your meal planning cookbooks yesterday for Valentine's day gifts for my friends! I can't wait to hear when they receive them in the mail 🙂 One of those is for me too! I couldn't resist!

I'm hooked on the OJ series – even set a series recording. Love your blog!

Giving your cookbooks to teachers is genius!! Why didn't I think of that?! So cute!

I'm so sucked in to watching making a murderer right now. Not sure I could handle the OJ show. Have a great valentines weekend
Monica says
My 11 year old daughter made 3 batches of your Red Velvet Brownies to give to her teachers and friends! So so good! Thanks!! Happy Valentines Day!
Mandii M says
Ah, I am obsessed with the OJ series! I remember being in elementary school and it taking over the news! I think I am going to run to Gap and get those sweatshirts!
Erica says
What's on your family Valentine's Day menu? My kids are so excited because I make a "fancy" 4 course meal starting with strawberry soup!
Lisa says
OJ has sucked me in… Again!
The cast is exceptional! I read online that Cuba Gooding Jr. has been getting "Hey OJ" type comments when fans see him, and he said while it's not the most flattering comparison, it's a nice break from "show me the money!"
Thanks for the Keurig link, ours has been acting up!
campdallas says
Oh, yes! OJ series sucked me in! I remember being in middle school and seeing the news report of that white bronco on the freeway! Now that I'm a bit older and can understand and consider the details more, I'm very interested in following along.
Simply A Rough Draft says
The People vs. OJ is so good! I cannot understand why I am on the edge of my seat the whole time, when I know what is going to happen. That scene with him in the back of the Bronco was so stressful, even though I knew he was going to make it out alive!! Did you watch the Bernie Madoff series? It was really good, too. Which surprised me, because I'm usually not into crime type shows. You should check it out! Have a great weekend!
Lindsay at Lindsay'sSweetWorld says
Yessss, The People v. OJ is soooo good! I can't stop watching! The only thing that gets me, though, is that ever time I see David Schwimmer, all I can think of is Ross! Lol.
Mia Fiore says
Hi! I don't know if you ever talked about this but what camera do you use for your pictures? Are they all iPhone pics and you just find the best lighting?! I'm curious!
Kelsey @ The Peacock Roost says
Sounds like you all have a great Valentine's Day weekend planned! We are recording the OJ Simpson show on DVR and I can't wait to watch it!

What did we ever do before we could google how to fix something?!! Totally wish I had started watching the OJ series…I remember watching the real events unfold and it really was kind of our first glimpse of reality tv
Meghan McClellan says
I love the OJ series too!, I'm Lindsey (above) though, whenever David Schwimmer comes on, all I see is Ross from Friends, and immediately start thinking ("PIVOT!!) LOL
Kristin Stewart says
I had and used my Keurig daily for 6 years when all that mess started. I did everything – the spanking, the pin in the needle thing, all the online video remedies. They would work for a few days then the trouble resumed. I called useless customer service who wanted to send a new machine my way – for $99. Um, no. While I truly miss the convenience, I haven't missed it the last 4 years. Four years ago I gave up on wondering if I would have coffee in the morning. So, now I have consistent, delicious coffee that costs so much less! Bye, bye Keurig. I'm not a negative person but you get me talking about Keurigs and it just comes out!
Rachel says
Totally going to go watch that "people vs. OJ" show now! I love those shows that you just can't look away from! Have a great weekend!

Well crap, I JUST Goodwill'ed my Keurig yesterday because it stopped "working"
The Young's says
I'm hooked on the OJ series also. I was a sophomore in college when this was going on. Thanks for the Keurig tip. Mine is still working great but…..you just never know. For the love of coffee it's what's for breakfast!!!
