Friday Favorites


Happy Friday friends!
Okay, a little housekeeping before we begin today.  After today, I will be heading out on vacation and not returning to blogland until Monday, March 14.  I am taking a nice little break with my family and even though I will miss you dearly, I am very excited about the time away.  I will be back with approximately 4,563,589 vacation pictures on that day.  So, bring a big mug of coffee and settle in that morning :).
While I’m gone, I bet I post a picture of two (or 45) on Instagram, so if you don’t already follow me, you can @mixandmatchmama.

My foodie blog will continue to post new recipes daily while I’m gone.  With St. Paddy’s Day and Easter coming up, I didn’t want to take time away from that blog because you know how much I love holiday recipes.  Check back every day for recipes!  You can even click here and look to your right and see where it says you can sign up for daily recipes and weekly meal planners.  If you do that, then a recipe will go straight to your inbox every day.  Yes.  You should do that!  Click here and click on the right!
I hope you guys enjoy the next week!  Always know how much I sincerely love this little community.  I think about you guys often.  When I see something cool, hear a new trick, find a new product, watch a new TV show, read a new book…when I pretty much do anything, I think about you guys and how I love sharing life with you.
So, as for today…just like every Friday, today, I’m linking up with Narci, Erika and Andrea and sharing some of my favorite things from this week.

If you missed it this week…my girl Sheaffer slightly re-branded herself.  She is now Sheaffer Told Me To!  I mean…that was an obvious re-brand, right?  Same site, same format, same fun posts on The Bachelor, what she’s wearing, what she’s buying and of course, her famous Pinterest recreations…just a more suitable name.  I don’t know about you…but the phrase Sheaffer told me to comes out of my mouth ALL.THE.TIME!  Check it out here!

 On Tuesday, Erika kicked off vacation week by celebrating with you ladies!  This morning, one winner and the three friends she tagged all won $250 Nordstrom Gift Cards.  Woohoo!  The winners were tagged on our IG post with this graphic.  So, check your tags, check my Instagram or check the original post to see if you won!
Let’s quickly recap my favorite spring break finds from that post (you can read the entire post here)…
Swimsuits:
 I buy 99% of my swimsuits from Athleta.

Cover-ups:
Last year, I bought this cover-up and wore it almost every single day.  It just worked with everything!  
Shorts:
 The J Crew Chino never lets me down.  You can pick any length you want (I like the 3″ but they also have 4″, 5″, 7″ and Bermuda lengths too).  They come in a wide variety of fun colors and neutrals as well.  They wash and dry perfectly.  
Dresses:
This is my black dress from The Men Tell All taping.  If you didn’t know…that was an exhausting day.  This dress is my favorite!  I bought black but it comes in five other colors too AND IT’S UNDER $50!  Love this dress!  (For a size reference, I bought an XS.)
I recently bought this dress to take on our cruise:
I am in love with this dress!  It’s so soft and fits so well.  Now, I’m only 5’3″, so for this particular dress, I bought a Petite XS and the length is spot on (it comes in both regular and petite).  This dress also comes in six different solid colors too.
And, last year, I bought this Lush dress…
…and even though my particular pattern is no longer available the exact same style is in a whole new array of patterns and colors.  And bonus, these dresses are on sale for under $40.  
Flip Flops:
My favorite Toms flip flops from last summer will be walking all over that Disney Cruise.  Love how comfy these sandals are!
And I know that these Tory Burch sandals are pricey…but they are unbelievably comfy and even though mine are a few years old, they still look great!

Last but not least, what are my kids wearing this spring break?  I pretty much bought them everything from Old Navy.  I didn’t mean to, but when I went online to look for Kensington a swimsuit, I not only bought her swimsuits, I bought Ashby swimsuits, Smith swimsuits, Kensington dresses, Ashby dresses and Smith shorts with tees.  Done.

And I’m celebrating St. Patrick’s Day on my foodie blog today…

    Are y'all going on the fantasy cruise from port canavaral western Caribbean?! We were suppose to be going on that but had to reschedule bc of Zika virus bc I'm preg 🙁

    Hello shay! I absolutely love your blog, I have a huge cup of coffee every morning and tune in 🙂 I have a random question about where you get pair of your kids shoes. I am looking for the ones that are slip on and kind of look like sneakers with holes in them. I am trying to find a good pair of spring/summer shoes for my 4 year old that doesn't give him blisters. Thanks 🙂

    Shay!!!! Target has a bunch of cute stuff I think you'd like. New clothing line from Who What Wear, the tops are so cute and under $25) and D &V has cute wedges!! Haven't done the comfort test test but they look amazing! Have a lovely trip with the Slaughters! Can't wait for you to recap 🙂

    Have you ever heard of birchbox? I just started my monthly subscription and i LOVE it! It has brought so many new products to my life that I just don't know how I lived with out. You should try it, I think you would enjoy it!

    I have been trying to find the answer to this for a while now but I thought at one point you had said that you can choose the months you want your Erin Condren planner to be. So like if I wanted it from April to April. However, I cannot figure out how to order it that way. Can you give some insight on this? I probably just imagined it. Hahaha

    I bought your 2 cookbooks last night for my sister's birthday in April. She will love them! As a kid she loved cookbooks and she still does! She always reads them cover to cover. At Christmas, we learned to give them to her last or she would just start reading immediately. ha!

    Have a blast on your cruise with Erika's family! I'm excited to hear about it….I've heard Disney cruises are awesome! I'm about to head over to ON as well to shop for our Bahamas trip….the kids (& me) are getting so excited for it next month! Made the original chocolate chip cake for our group of college kids from church & lets just say there wasn't any left!! Love the cookbooks!! Be safe & have a great family vacation!!

    I have been searching for a cover up and this one is perfect! Thanks! I like my cover up to be appropriate for shopping and grabbing lunch at the beach too! We are headed on a Disney Cruise soon too. We have been going on them since our daughter was five and she just turned 15. We should be DCL reps(: They are just so much fun! If you need tips on excursions, I would love to help you! We have done about all of them(: Thanks for the cruise attire tips! Susan
