Oh hey there Thursday!
Well…I don’t know about you…but I woke up extra early (which for me, is pretty much the middle of the night) and shopped Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. Today, it opens for Nordstrom’s cardholders and then next week, it opens to everyone. And brace yourself…next week, I’m going to do some giveaways (yes, plural) that will knock your flip flops off, so get pumped friends!
‘Tis the season to buy brand new fall clothes at a discounted price (because these are the same fall clothes they’ll have in store all fall long…but right this minute, they’re on sale.) Amen.
Life lately around the Shull house hasn’t been dull…here’s a little look…
One of these things does not belong…but don’t tell her because she thinks she does. Ebby Lee and Kensington wanted to match and take a twin picture and well, Ashby thought she fit right on in. #shethinkssheisabiggirltoo
We spent Saturday fighting over a baby. Everyone wanted to hold Samuel and not pass him off (including me!). Oh my goodness…that sweet baby. Smith already has a list of things he’s going to teach Samuel (he even told Samuel this!). I love these boys so much!
All the happy feelings on a Sunday afternoon.
First day of tennis camp 2016. And then look…
…where did my babies go?!?! On the left, first day of tennis camp 2013 and on the right, 2016. Oh sweet kiddos! They don’t stay little long.
And let’s all note that Smith has the same taste in tennis gear at 6 that he did at 3 ;).
We take lessons every year with the Slaughter kids. I found it funny that they all dressed alike. #twinning
We always say at our house that we need to “earn our showers” at night. If it’s time for your nightly shower and you’re not kind of dirty, did you do anything that day? We like to earn our showers (in other words, we like to be a little dirty as proof of a full day!). I love this picture of Kensington. We had biked to Starbucks and she’s all happy, windblown and kind of dirty after a day of tennis, swimming and biking…she earned her shower ;).
This one had earned her shower too :).
I found this picture on my phone later that night…Kensington had taken it of us after our bike ride. Andrew is hanging the bikes back up and then look at Smith over there…being Smith.
More tennis camp this week…it’s fun to sit out and watch them practice.
And then our week took an eventful turn Tuesday night. Sweet Kensington fell off her bed right before dinner and landed on…the Eiffel Tower. I mean…only Kensington Shull could be injured by the Eiffel Tower. She has a big bright pink Eiffel Tower that sits on her dresser and for some reason, she had placed it on the floor that day to play and then later, she accidentally fell off her bed and just happened to land right on it. What are the odds?! Andrew stayed home with Ashby and Smith and I took her up to the ER for stitches in the back of her thigh where she hit it. She was SO BRAVE! Kensington is most definitely our more shy/timid/quiet kiddo and so I could not be more proud of how tough and brave she was getting her stitches. Everyone was so sweet in the ER…but they all kind of giggled when they would ask her how she got this big gash in the back of her thigh and the answer was “I fell on the Eiffel Tower”. I mean…you can’t make this stuff up ;). Instead of swimming for the next week or so, we’re going to do lots of fun indoor activities instead.
That’s life lately friends.
And then if you’re local, don’t forget tonight I’m meeting Erin Condren and you can too! See all of the details HERE. See you there!

Poor Kensington! And what a story to tell. ☺️ Also, I’d be curious about what Anniversary sale items you bought. I just did some damage myself, but I always appreciate your style choices!

This is just what I needed to read this morning. Life has been stressful on my end lately and reading your posts is like a breathe of fresh air for me. Helps me escape and gives me great ideas.

I don’t love that she fell, but I love her story and how tough she is! My two year-old got a daycare boo-boo last week. Kids were pushing her in a car. She fell out and then they proceeded to push and ran over her face. She’s completely fine…just scratches and bruising. If you ask her what happened, she says, “I got run over…by a car!”

Such a beautiful family!! PS Canada has Nordstrom too now so you’re giveaways should be open to us all 🙂 🙂

Great pictures of the kiddos doing things this summer…looks like you’ve been keeping them pretty busy for most of the summer.

What a brave girl! I’m glad that everything turned out OK. Y’all enjoy your Thursday. :o)

I see your purse in the basket and you really should take the seat belt and lock them through your purse handles. If someone goes to grad your purse they will take the basket with them and it won’t be quiet! Looks like you guys are having a great summer!
Mix and Match Mama says
Great idea Denise!!! Happy summer to YOU!

Love these Thursday posts. Is that a gray Burberry bag in the last picture, in the grocery cart? It certainly looks like mine, which I got for a song — actually a HUM — at Nordstrom Rack.

I was a shy and timid kid growing up also, and I found that the shy and timid kids are usually the bravest when it comes to going to the dentist, getting stitches, or getting their blood drawn. I was always really calm too. And the louder, roudy kids were always the ones screaming the loudest. It’s interesting. (I also share K’s September birthday~they say virgo girls are somewhat timid and calm, and observe from afar.)
