I am such a sucker for a pinwheel. Any time I make one for an appetizer, they’re gone in a flash. Go ahead and double the recipe…I promise you, they’ll all be devoured. I also love pinwheels because they make a quick little breakfast (I’ve made them for overnight guests before and along with some fruit and coffee, their morning meal was complete!), plus, they’re good for lunch too. Anyway you slice it, pinwheels are my jam. These have creamy ranch, crispy bacon, deli turkey and and Swiss…yum!
This recipe makes about 14 pinwheels.
Shopping List
1 (17 oz) box of puff pastry sheets (from the freezer department, I use Pepperidge Farm)
8 slices of really great deli turkey
8 slices of Swiss cheese
12 pieces of bacon, cooked to crisp and crumbled
Ranch dressing
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly spray with Pam. Set aside.
Make sure your puff pastry sheets have come to room temp per box directions.
On your counter, open and lay out both puff pastry sheets. Next, lay four slices of turkey down the center of each one. Next, top turkey with four slices of Swiss down the center. follow that with a sprinkling of crumbled bacon pieces. Finally, drizzle Ranch dressing down over everything.
Roll the puff pastry sheet into a log starting with the left side, rolling across the middle (where your filling is) and then rolling to the right. Your puff pastry should now be in a log. Press the seam down to make sure it doesn’t come a part.
Slice each log into about 7 pieces and then lay each pinwheel piece flat on your prepared baking sheet.
Bake pinwheels about 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve immediately.
Seriously…double this recipe. These guys will be gone in minutes!

The real question is: if I made these, would they make it to the table? I’m trying to decide if I am ok with the answer, hahaha!

I made these last night. It was a fun little cooking project for me and my four year old to do together (not that she was convinced to try them!). And they turned out great! We had them for dinner with Caesar salad. Thank you for making puff pastry approachable. It was my first time using it.
